  1. Haha thanks, yea my goal was to have him a bit more feral looking (here's hoping for a wulfen Redemptor profile some day xD) Eventually looking to do another that's more of a digging in place and firing pose.
  2. Been a while, but back with some progress to finish out the new years! Hope everyone had a great holidays! To bring it in, the Revered Dead rise! I took a lot of inspiration from Wispy's earlier conversion but wanted to adjust the pose to be a bit more dynamic and feral.
  3. So i'm not 100% sure this is the best/right place on B&C to post, but I'm gonna give it a go. Well met Traitors and Heretics, I come bearing gifts of the Dark Gods. That gift being a fan remake of Path to Glory for 9th edition! http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/files/file/664-path-to-glory-fan-remake/ Made with 8th edition in mind for 99% of it I started this earlier in the year as a way to bring it up to date for some friends and myself, but it kind of snowballed into a full blown project. So I figured I'd put it out there for others that think this system is great and want to duke it out to determine who is the truly favored of the Gods! Unfortunately I haven't been able to play test very much given Papa Nurgles current rumblings throughout the world so this is more of an alpha release. If people are interested, I'm also including a link to a log sheet that collects statistics about the games and campaigns that I can use to see how things are playing and tweak as necessary. Already have a list of future updates I'd like to support with 9th coming out listed in the document. You can reach me at Reedethrow@gmail.com I'd be more than happy to hear how people's campaigns are going, stories of epic triumphs and treacheries as well as any and all suggestions. Cheers, may the Dark Gods guide you!

  5. Reivers: Verdicts still out for me, haven't really played with them yet My theorycraft on this definitely favors the combat knives and pistols. With grav-chutes or grapnel launchers wolves are in a much better position to make use of these as a distraction melee unit. Some peppering fire from the bolter carbines I think suits other armies, but the extra attacks, and then increases to hit and the assault doctrine makes these guys a nuisance early on, and downright deadly late game if the enemy doesn't focus on them. Intercessors: Bolt Rifle To me it just hits all the right parts, a proper amount of range with the 30", a solid amount of shots due to bolter discipline. I'm glad the other versions have gotten updates, but as a troops choice take, it just provides too good of the base level fire, and quite simply other stuff seems to make better use of the other two profiles, aggressors for the assault and eliminators for the stalker pattern. Aggressors: Quite simply the bolt storm just appears genuinely better. In the long run you're getting more shots cause you can continue to fire while getting into range with the squad. My best friend plays salamanders and makes a point to use the flamestorm ones, but will often say, if he didn't, there's no way he'd not run the boltstorm gauntlets, and he's been using aggressors since they came out. The thing that really makes them work for his army is the strategem to increase wound rolls by 1, and that still doesn't convince him the flamestorm would work better in most situations. Inceptors: Plasma Exterminators So i'm going with plasma on this, but I think that's mostly because my army is missing a more elite targeted weapon, but I really think on inceptors either option is just as good, so long as you are using it to fill a gap in your current list loadouts. Eliminators: Bolt Sniper Rifle Quite honestly, i don't ever see myself taking the las fusil. That could certainly change but... iunno there just seems so many other options that can fill that kind of roll, where as no other units are going to fill the roll of Eliminators with the sniper rifle. Especially with how characters have become force multipliers in 8th, having something that can target them out and get rid of an aura, to me, is worth it's weight in mjod. Hellblasters: Plasma Incinerator So myself I see these guys as a mix of elite and vehicle killers, since heavy str and ap aren't incredibly rampant in the primaris line yet. The assault plasma is just a bit too low in the strength for me to want to take, and the heavy is too limiting in shots at always heavy 1, not to mention by being heavy, move and your at a -1 to hit... so, absolutely no move and overcharge. The mid range just seems to come with most of the benefits and least of the drawbacks. Invictors: No opinion at the moment Redemptor: Storm Bolters Bolter Discipline - constant 4 shots with an extra 6" range. Impulsor: Toss up I think with bolter discipline no longer affecting vehicles in general, this becomes more of a choice again. me personally, I just like storm bolters
  6. Thanks, always enjoy adding fun stuff and trying to continue the lore of my great company. Actually got some inspiration and thought I'd write some rules for the Bloodied Claws, create a detachment for them that I may run in some fun games with my friends. The Bloodied Claws Detachment Unit Requirements 1-2 Aggressor Squads (6 maximum models) 2-X Squads with keyword "Blood Claws" Command Benefits: + 1 Command Point Detachment Benefits: Units with keyword Blood Claws within 3" of an Aggressors unit in this detachment may reroll to hit rolls of 1 in the fight phase. Stratagems 2CP Friendly Rivalry: Play this stratagem at the beginning of the move phase. Units with keyword "Blood Claw" within 6" of an Aggressors Unit in this detachment may charge even if they advanced this turn. 1CP Show Them How It's Done: Play this stratagem at the beginning of the shooting phase. Any Aggressor unit from this detachment within 6" of a unit with key word "Blood Claws" may fire twice this turn, even if they moved.
  7. New warriors to join the lost Fyf! Been really happy with the progress i've been making. In probably less than a year i've actually gotten almost as many models completed as my previous 6. Here's some fun pictures and a little bit of fluff! Dempsey knelt, in his mind quickly taking stock of his wounds. Bruised eye socket, several broken ribs, and his knee was most likely torn from its socket. He knew under the care of the Wolf Priests these would heal quickly, even as the Bellisarian Furnace raged. He was an ancient warrior, born in the shadow of Luna on Terra itself, forged in the fires of the rubicon primaris. What would take much longer to heal would be his pride. He’d only landed one solid blow on his opponent, and even that he can’t be sure wasn’t intentional. Ringr, the Jarl of Fyf stood tall above him, “It is one thing to have learned of our customs, blood of Terra. All who fight under the banner of Russ have the right to speak, have the right to question, and the right to challenge their Jarl. Now you have lived it. They are not the same are they?” “No, my Lo… Jarl” Ringr looked around, addressing Dempsey, but making it clear to all the warriors circling them, forming the circle of honor, a motley collection of the few remaining warriors remaining to Fyf and their Primaris reinforcements, “As was agreed, he who triumphed would be able to ask anything of the other, so… I will give you a choice. Never again, will a drop of mjod pass your lips. Or, given that you look like one of the Lion’s pretty ones, you can take a proper cut of Fenris. As well, you will dye it the color of a Trolls nethers in heat.” Dempsey paused a moment, unsure how to respond… before showing a full fang-toothed grin, “Someone get me a damned razor.” Ringr bellowed with laughter, grasped Dempsey by the gauntlet and hauled him to his feet, “Come brother, I’ll let you decide whether it be a male or female troll.” As Dempsey walked with Ringr towards the Wolf Priests, though feeling his pride much wounded, couldn’t help but feel a moment of happiness properly taking part in the new family of warriors he’s been inducted to. Besides, of course he couldn’t pick the Mjod. If truth be told, he had begun to gain a taste for it. The Bloodied Claws, Long Fang aggressors pack have not only adapted to primaris warfare, but have reveled in it. After many years spent on the back lines directing fire and leveling heavy death at the enemy, these raucous members of the rout now donned heavy gravis armor and have thrown themselves fist first into the enemy. They’ve done so with such ruthlessness that it’s started friendly rivalry amongst the blood claw packs who now plunge into battle alongside them, laughter, boasting, and screams of blood tallies piercing through the chaos of the battle.
  8. The Suppressors are ready to strike from the sky! And my next years tribute to Sanguinala!
  9. ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE BROTHERS! Tutorial Guide to Creating Ice Bases [update] Alright so I was gonna post the full guide here, but it won't let me post all of the images in one go, so probably just easier to leave the link up, but here's a picture of the finished product
  10. Absolutely love that Bjorn! Where did you get the head from?
  11. Thanks! I was really worried about doing them which is honestly why I put off painting for so long haha. Overall though i'm really happy with how they turned out, really just ended up mostly using a same painting method as the bases. Yea sure, I've got a few prepped to go but i'm sure I can figure out the next model or two and set something up. Overall it's actually really easy, 90% of it is waiting for resin to dry. I do plan to do a Redemptor dreadnought or two in the near future so i'll probably do that and some more aggressor bases to get them ready to go. It's really just using the techniques from this reddit post I found a while back, but i'll go through and do them both together, hopefully that helps people out, but in the mean time i'll post these The Water Bases The Ice Bases Essentially I follow the water portion of it and that often tends to leave enough of a divet in the resin which I just fill in with the crackle paint. I've noticed though that the crackle paint doesn't stick to the resin, so i'll go through and do one round, that will crack up, and then i'll do another and throw all those broken pieces in and it gives it a really cool effect. Once that dries up I then actually take my model glue and just slather it all over the whole thing. Like seriously I fill in every nook and cranny with the glue which has significantly expanded how often I need to pick glue up haha. But you get something like this which I really like, you can do it without adding the more texture, which was helpful for the flat pieces of the Eliminators
  12. Alright Wolf Scout Eliminators are finally up! Only took me... *looks at watch*... never mind how long it took. Working on a little treat at the end! [imgur Gallery Link] https://imgur.com/gallery/XmnbTSe
