Deus Imperator Vult's Achievements

  1. The true Templar way to take out a tank is to leap from the burning wreck that was a storm raven with no injuries thanks to the commander, and then promptly beating the tank to death with chainswords. Who needs grenades, we have zeal. A True Templar looks at a warhound titan then looks at a nearby jump pack and thunderhammer thinks 'challenge accepted.'
  2. I've noticed a large number of us are probably because the Templars are one of most overtly historically influenced chapters. Mainly because the Knights Templar were awesome... before they were screwed over by a coward. But I digress. I do know what you mean about plot armour it ruins so many good characters.
  3. Oh come on it isn't that painful being hit by a crossbow from a child. Did it last tuesday . Didn't the king reward him or something before he died? That was Richard the Lionheart. Richard the III died at the Battle of Bosworth they only found his body a few years ago. No according to forensics he was hit by at least one arrow deep enough to graze bone, stabbed in the head through his helmet, before having a good five inch portion of the back of his skull hacked away. Ouch that is some astartes toughness there. Whoops about Richard goes to show how much I know about medieval history:). Richard took some punishment reminds of the stories of how Rasputin died. You were only a few hundred years off brother in Medieval time thats barely anything. Yep all that with fairly severe scolosis he's been in the news a lot recently you could probably hunt down the details if you wished. Oh yeah Rasputin took some punishment but he wasn't fit to wear the Black.

  5. You know you are a Templar when you're at the reenternment for Richard III and you are picturing the entire church are Eccleasicy officials, Chapter serfs, and power armoured Brothers laying a Marshal to rest. Additionally, when you see the punishment the King took before falling and think that man had the toughness of an Astartes.
  6. When you're watching a documentary on the Crusades and note down every knights name you hear in case you need more Templar names for your writing projects.
  7. I have to agree though I like to think that's why they stepped in to provent the unslaught of the richeous! I love how he even had to put 'not a troll' in the title. Thats the internet equilivent of someone who starts a conversation 'I'm not racist but...'
  8. Conspiring against and failing to turn yourself over to the Inquisition... I think a good 2/3 of Astartes have fallen into that category at some point or another in their history. And yet I wouldn't name the Black Templars, Flesh Tearers, Ultramarines and so on heretics. Also, I admit I haven't read up on her as a character but surely being tortured by a traitor marine is just an opportunity to prove your faith. Yeppers again. All Space Marines are Heretics, They don't worship Big E as a god, there for are heretics. But they're are our heretics and also 'related' to the Emperor in a round about way, have saved our collective bacon on a number of times and well lets just be honest here, piss them off and they may just forget to come and help against the evils of the universe or really piss in there Wheatees and they may just come a knocking themselves. So it's probably better to just let them be. I find you lack of faith Disturbing... Templars Dear Fellow, our only true Brothers in Heart and Soul found among the Adeptus Astartes who hate the witch as much as we ourselves do. Agreed, need we escort you to the Chaplains for censure? Besides I would argue Astartes are the only ones capable of reading between the lines to know the truth of the Emperor. After all that coward Lorgar was the first to call him a god and, to quote Bjorn "Calling him God is how all the mess started." But I digress. Fibonacci thanks for the info I may have to give it a look as I have been dabling in some Soroitas writing of late, mostly due to this thread.

  10. You know you're a son of Sigismund when you know the only time a Templar would utter the word 'god' is to prop up the moral of the uninitiated who lack the strength and Zeal of his true sons.
  11. When you start noticing templar crosses in other media and find yourself wondering if the actor, producer or set designer was devout. Most recently 5th Element. When you read about how the 13th century Templars were stabbed in the back by a greedy french king and have to fight the urge to zealously find and desecrate his grave in the name of Sigismund.
  12. I watched it but meerly to assess the best way to strike down the fetied coven! Also, you know you're a Black Templar when you fantasise an entirely different ending to the Harry Potter films wherein the skys burn during the battle of (sneers) hogwarts and black armoured giants, chanting the words of humanities supremacy, charge into the fray killing both sides with bolter and blade.
  13. That sounds more like a Raven Guard devotee... Everyone who is wise to the being known as Raven knows that she has fallen prey to her foul Witch powers on more than one occasion. Were it not for the devotion of the mutant and the Ultramarine Dark Angel other bird, she would have seen justice long ago. O-T: Is there a proper DC representation of the Templar? I cannot think of one off hand. Most Heroes are too tolerant of Magic, Xeno, or Mutant. I know he is Marvel not DC but I always felt The Punisher had templar like qualities. All black, armed to the teeth, completely unforgiving to anyone who violates his personal code of ethics even when, the argument could be made, they out match him i.e Spiderman. And c'mon the repeating skull moteif Grimaldus would be proud to call him one of his own... Back to topic you know you're a Black Templar when, upon waking in a less that possitive mood, you open your bookmarked youtube video of the Dawn of war Chaplains quotes close your eyes and allow his Zeal to fuel you IN THE EMPERORS NAME!
  14. When you download Templar 6 months before it's released in stores just because Sigismund is the main character and after listening to aforementioned audio drama, twice, you have the unshakeable desire to bind a weapon to your wrist with links of blackened plasteel.
  15. Love this so much and not just for the John Woo esq doves in the background.
