  1. Right, I finished this the other day. What. A. Book. Seriously, it's just :cussing fantastic. One of the best Black Library has ever produced. John French completely nails Tzeentch in this book. So much deception, so many falsities, and so much HOPE. Lets not forget that Tzeentch is the Chaos god of hope. Ahriman is completely and utterly dominated by that one emotion throughout the series. I personally think that the new Rubric and the Changeling showing up were both tests AND rewards of Tzeentch. The Rubric was a test. We all knew the outcome was going to be failure, the whole ritual was a ploy by Tzeentch to drive Ahriman further towards his destiny as the ultimate mortal servant of Tzeentch. The Changeling was there to give the illusion of free will. Should Ahriman have rolled over at the end of the Rubric, lost to despair and ready to die, then the Changeling would've rewarded him with annihilation. It was a bogus offer from Tzeentch, death in the form of a "thank you for all your hard work" . However, Ahriman didn't accept despair, as Tzeentch knew that he wouldn't, hence the removal of the Silver, and sewing the seed of more false hope with the cured Rubric marine, and starting the whole self perpetuating cycle of failure and rebirth all over again. How perfectly up is that? Tzeentch, so contradictory and manipulative, despite already knowing the outcome. It's just the best depiction of what is, in my mind, the hardest Chaos god to write. His servants have to be able to hope, without which they are no servant of his at all. I also loved the shattering of Magnus (who was more Tzeentchian than we've ever seen him before - divisive, scheming and lying and manipulating everyone towards his own goal of coming back together as the ascended 'Crimson King'), and the war of metaphors in Ahriman's own mindscape (Orhmand killing Iobel was particularly great, representing Ahriman's guilt of failiure finally overcoming and killing his self doubt). I also loved the cameos from a certain daemon prince of Khorne (fair play to Ctesias for somehow binding that bad mofo), and a certain Black Legionnaire with Thousand Soon roots. That whole Prospero scene was great fun to read. The whole series was fantastic, cleverly constructed and written and so so Tzeentchian from beginning to end. I think Unchanged was my favourite, though.
  2. Mate.... just.... mate... Out:cussingstanding.
  3. Yeeeeeeeeeeeah! Heinrich does heresy era Night Lords! This is going to be so sick.
  4. I think you've modelled yourself into a corner here Herr Heinrich. The Hashec Tor terminator model is so incredibly stand out that it's impossible for me to associate Hashec Tor looking like anything other than that. The horned head is Hashec Tor's head. The Zerker one could be any old bike riding chaos marine. Having said that, the Zerker helm is cooler and my preferred one. But the other helmet is Hashec Tor.
  5. My new Carcharodons Terminator Librarian, done on commission by none other than Mr. Spikyjames. I can only claim credit for the concept. The assembly and painting was all him, and I think it's utterly fantastic. For some reason the resolution is better when reviewed in the gallery.

"By the Emperor, it is willed." This is a gallery for what will eventually be a full Carcharodon army, painted by the amazing Spikyjames. James very kindly agreed to be my commission painter over the next few months, and I'm really excited to see how this mysterious and sinister character are bought to life by his incredible painting skills. I've got a lot of ideas of how I want each unit, squad or vehicle to look, and I can't wait to see the finish results.
  7. This is the one thread I've followed on any forum ever. These models are so unbelievably amazing. Your Captain just demands attention, it's rare you get a miniature painted to a standard where it even eclipses the other exceptionally modelled and painted models that have come before it. I would absolutely love to face off against these guys on the table one day. You've put such a level of care and love into this army that it's impossible not to inspire the same in all who see it. Quite a feat man. Exceptional.
  8. So unbelievably sick. Literally the best Chaos terminators I've ever seen.
  9. Hey man, I just wanted to say that your army is incredible. The concepts and conversion work behind each marine is incredible, and the painting is solid as well. I love your fluff introduction to your models as well, it gives them even more character. You're a pretty decent writer as well. I loved "you dropped something." Actually made me laugh out loud. In short, kudos my man. Really looking forward to more of these. I hope by early next year to have a Carcharadon force up and running. Maybe one day they'll catch up with your Night Lords, and end that misguided wretch, Skaros
