Well..... When I get my second knight I am so definitely stealing this idea. That first mask is one of the best conversions of this kit I've seen, and so simple. -

As a thought, I've been looking at the blightkings for a while and thinking of iron warriors. A tiltshield here, a bloody great gun there and maybe a rebreather attached to one of the more brutal helmets. The only difficulty I can forsee are suitable no nonsense legs.

I know what you mean about the head. Khârn is such an iconic mini, even down to the way that the cover of Inferno issue 1 (or 0) featured more or less a direct copy in illustrated form. You've made the right choice by using the original head to tie it together.

The stagnation of technology is a pretty important part of the 40k lore, however I believe there is some ultramarine tau heresy in the Dorian heresy stuff, maybe you could check that out.
