  1. Thanks for the replies! Didn't realise it was single use, didn't see it on the box when I looked at it. Think Marshal hit the nail on the head there, just gotta play around with it. Got some games coming up in a couple of weeks so will test it and report back!
  2. Basilisks would be very fluffy for Iron Warriors but I couldn't comment on the in game feasibility of taking them, sorry! A question Iron Warriors though. How useful are we thinking Devastation Batteries are? The Relic is useless to us as far as I can tell as it's just our trait. The Armourbane could be nice in a nice AT position, becoming a mini Guilliman firebase but how many vehicles are you going to actually shoot on average? The main benefit I can see is Punishing Volley, being able to once a turn hopefully punish any unit that moves out of place or hopefully blunt an attack incoming.
  3. Must. Have. I'm already on board with Psychos thinking of some decimators. Think remove the weird bug heads and put on something like a necron crypt wraith head or maybe some sort of sensor array. And bam, I'm happy with that.
  4. Ambots are perfect I think. A few extra weapons and they are a worthy of assault 6. I agree with you about the Obliterators. I think they look cool but they are more hellbrute than techno machine flesh metal monstrosity. Maybe IG heavy weapon squad weapons could be useful? Put them on the shoulders a bit like a (excuse me for the example) a blastoise.
  5. Well the worst offender on the blackstone mairnes was the shoulder pad, and that's now a blank pad in the Shadowspear box. With the chest piece 'Eyes' I think either take a knife and shave them off so it's flat or just paint it metal. In regards to the master of possession, my current plan is to take off the flames and rather than have him floating, have a nest of mechatendrils supporting him. I like your idea Athiair about him being a demon chainer, so I think I'd add some rusty ritual chains. Maybe coming from his back pack or wrapped around his wrists.
  6. Hello fellow Iron Warriors. Been a while since I've been on this board. To comment on the idea of more corrupted 4th Legionaries, I've been having the same conflicts. My current force is mainly just more darker marines, some chaos runes but very little chaos parts. However with this new range I am thinking more warped pieces like the bio-pipes and flesh metal. With the greater possessed one idea I'm toying with is replacing the larger mutated parts with over the top bionics, as if these marines went a bit mek boy mad and just trying to make their selves more machine than anything. I'm mainly just hoping for some more rules updates as currently it feels like Chaos Marines are worse to have than cultists. Especially with our HQ trait. Though I am limited in the amount of games I play since my local GW went a bit anti-community, so perhaps I am just not understanding our current codex well enough.
  7. This month has just had no motivation for me, one of those months I think. I'm going to have to use my pass and next month hopefully come in with renewed energy!
  8. I have been doing something similar but with a Khorne household. I wanted to convert them so while I did look at the forge world version, it didn't interest me much, you are right three of them takes away the unique parts of the kit. Personally I prefer working with plastic so going pure conversion route was easier for me. For inspiration there are so many great ideas you can use. You say you want to rather not buy lots of large kits, so maybe go the trophy route. Enemies helmets and skulls stuck to the hull, you could have a sacrificed marine maybe on a shoulder pad or being used as the leg banner. The chaos vehicle kit comes with some nice trophy racks, as well as plates with chaos insiginia and one has spikes bursting from the metal. Lots of little components that can really show what allegiance the knight has.
  9. Dawnstar that is all types of good right there. Clearly the best type of banner is an imperial fist.
  10. I have got my HQ painted but it will take a bit to get a picture. Will have it posted ASAP. EDIT: Sorry for bad quality but what I can get at the moment.
  11. There are quite a few ways, depends what you are after. As was mentioned, having two havocs together as a weapon team works or aggressors/ centurions. You could also just take a terminator and add bulk and heavy weapons to him, some missile pods, extra guns etc.
  12. I think honour markings would work best, though it doesn't look bad plain in my opinion. Great work with the comms relay and the up armoured chest. The bolter is one of my favourite bits about that model, the serial number is a nice touch.
  13. I've always liked Obliterators, never for their stats I just liked the idea of big hulking terminators with heavy weapons. This edition they are proving very fun. In my last game with them I was unlucky and rolled a 1 for every damage roll, but it wasn't an issue. 12 high strength shots will wittle things down with ease. I like using them in tandem with terminators, almost like a support squad as they deep strike down. Terminators can get ready to get into combat while the obliterators just keep things at bay. Chosen from my uses so far are, eh. They need to be kitted out for a certain role I feel. They aren't anymore survivable than a normal marine you just get the option of all the power weapons or all the special weapons. I can see them being more useful in power rating games as you can then just give them all power swords/axes/fists what ever and have them follow your HQ into combat. If they had access to stormshields or even a 4++ then it would give them a lot more options. Also Tzaangor rhino rush, it sounds like one of those ideas so crazy it just works.
  14. That's an awesome print, Insane. Balordazul, personally if I was going that sort of predator I'd get the Fw one, but that fits the Deimos look perfectly in my opinion, goes well with the IW theme of keeping all their old tanks in good condition. Well, a workable condition.
