  2. Well, I started the thread because I think Gman is good, almost to good to not use. Every list I try to make, there's never a better choice for those points. His aura pretty much doubles the offensive output of other units if you do the math so if he can buff atleast his point value of units he has earned his points back for pure damage output atleast He's fast and a beast in close combat and even his own gun can do some serious damage He's hard to kill being character, good invul and comes back from the dead He grants 3 command points! I can appreciate that a deepstrike army or a very fast and assault oriented army might not be the best for him but otherwise he's unfortunately a nobrainer for me
  3. I have many FW models but I feel like every single one of them is very expensive points wise. Not sure of which are really worth bringing to the table. I have: 2 regular Sicarans 2 Deredeo (1 autocannon, 1 lascannon) 2 Leviathan (1 Melta, 1 Grav) 2 Laser Vindicators 1 Typhon 3 Quad Mortars And as my plan is playing an Imperium army consisting of both AM and UM there is even less space to fit the beautiful FW models
  4. Haven't done the math but: if we ignore the ap which the sword also is superior, vs higher T targets the hand can get 1/6th added chance to hit but at the same time loose 1/6th chance to inflict at least 1 mortal wound. So with my logic the sword does equal or more wounds vs any T target with also one better ap Edit. For T9-T11 the Hand actually beats the sword by 2. 3+ vs 5+
  5. What would the IG be without their tanks? :) I have a Malcador vanquisher on order but I'm weighing my wallet to see if I can afford an Infernus and a Macharius Vulcan as well...
  6. He didn't say that He said it 'would be' a more elegant solution ndoing it that way, thus making it a tax cost of 1 CP
  7. Going speedy sound like a plan. My idea of combining IG and Ultra marines is having the IG as the core and using Ultra marines as an elite, fast and hard striking force to do some of the heavy lifting. So bringing some deep striking terminators and maybe a couple of flyers would remove the need/benefit of taking him
  8. So far in 8th I've included G-man in all of the 4 games I've played. He's been a deciding factor for winning the first three. Now, yesterday, I played against a Death Guard army using a very low model count elite army at 2k points using ultramarines and IG. I Had: Guilliman Terminus Ultra Shadowsword Tempestor Prime Scions with plasma Astropath Wyvern LR Crusader Centurions w Grav With Guilliman it feels like my offensive power is doubled (haven't run the numbers) and when I lost him end of T2 my whole army crumbled. It still was a tight game and I conceded T4. Now his bubble is so good, he's a real beatstick in cc and can even land some decisive hits in shooting. He even has a 75% chance to come back when killed (using CP). He's also a bullet magnet and can take a fair bit of punishment. What I did notice after some bad assault positioning though is that he is very sensitive to mortal wounds. He managed to get smite cast on him by three different sorcerers and finally succumbed from an assault by Be'lakor My big question now, is as follows: Is there any ultra or ultra/IG army when it's not worth taking him? I don't want to rely on him in every single game
  9. So the rules says that normal damage does not spill over if it's more than enough to kill a model. Mortal wounds do. If a Space Marine scout with sniper rifle shoots at a unit with several 1-wound models and scores a '6' to wound can he kill 2 models? Had a weird reasoning that when the '6' is rolled, a mortal wound is triggered killing a model. Is the normal damage then wasted since it's only 1 hit? Or is it the cinematic way: The scout is chuck norris and lines up a dual headshot
  10. After googling a bit it was a limited edition land raider that actually came with predator sponson sprue and razorback turret sprue. Don'¨t know when it was sold though
  11. Hmm a 2k army consisting of a spearhead with chronus, a LR and 2 preds alongside a low detachment with guilliman and two terminus ultras. Pretty good chance of going first and unload hell
  12. I'm thinking the sponsons from a predator as single lascannons mounted where the front hatches are on the sides and a razorback turret with twin lascannons instead of the heavy bolter. Atleast that's what the first hit when googling Terminus Ultra seem to show Should be plug and play. It's actually a pretty decent alternative to a Spartan. It has 4 less wounds and lack the behemoth rule but it comes a bit cheaper and doesn't have the relic rule that makes it impractical to bring and it can split it's firepower better
  13. I had a game yesterday with me bringing a mix of ultramarines and AM against a Sisters army. The two Wyverns I had was insanely good vs his T3 infantry. The dice gods might have been smiling my way, but I killed 3-4 sisters with each volley from each wyvern. I also brought 2 storm tooper squad which deleted a penitent engine the turn they dropped in, only to be flamed to death the next turn
  14. LoW slot - This doesn't bother me much. With the freedom of detachments now it's pretty easy to ignore Transport - This is the big difference. I'm not convinced though that LR's are the go to choice for bringing terminators this edition. I'd rather use a Stormraven or even deepstrike them. Chronus - Still undecided on this one. Depends on how he works really which isn't clear to me. Since his BS replaces the vehicle he's in, does that remove the vehicles damage tables degrading BS? This is my personal opinion but I only bring the godhammer as a lascannon gun platform. For this reason the Terminus is miles ahead in efficiency for me, bringing double the number of shots for only ~40pts more. Make sure to have a captain or even guilliman close by and we will be inflicting alot of damage each turn
  15. So according to the faq the points for our Low LR is including wargear. Why would we ever take a godhammer instead of this beast?
