  1. I like black gun casings for them better than the all metal.
  2. No. Probably going back to lead the 3rd Company Ghoststalkers.
  3. Might be my second marine collection in the future? I had an extra intercessor sitting around so I wanted to paint him up as Raven Guard. I think I can do this when it's the right time.
  4. Well if you go to the first post of my collection thread (which is a few years old) on the first page towards the top of this sub-forum, you'll see I painted a bladeguard veteran sergeant in bone with a green hood and tabard! They look great that way too!
  5. Not impressed with that James Workshop fella.
  6. Well today they showed the cover picture for the new Black Templars Combat Patrol. It's not bad but I still prefer the previous one. You could get two of it ... this one, you could get two but you better sell off that second Emperor's Champion lol.
  7. Great point! I'm considering doing my six bladeguard veterans as members of the Guardians of the Covenant? Silver armor with deep dark red hoods, tabards, etc. Their chapter decals come on the new Dark Angel decal sheet.
  8. That! ... And the fact maybe I'm too old school in this sense, but when I think of Deathwing I think of terminators, period. Not guys in bone colored power armor running around with fancy bolt rifles, swords, shields, etc.
  9. Yeah for "Company Veterans" for my 3rd company .... I'll have 10 Sternguard, 6 bladeguard veterans, and the company heroes aka Temu Command Squad are also all veterans of course. So 16 Company Veterans in my 3rd company. That's not bad. ... and then there are the 6 Inner Circle Companions that always seem to be with the company, often accompanying Master Rhamiel, led by the one known as Brother Zabriel...... hmmm..... When they release Vanguard Veterans that will be the next force organization dilemma. I'm not sure why but I don't feel they really jive with the Dark Angels to be candid? if I had Blood Angels, Raven Guard, or most chapters I'd be like yeah definitely .... but not into them for Dark Angels.
  10. Official GW sanction, IDK? Over the past two editions, I've seen a lot of Bladeguard veterans, and sternguard veterans done in bone-white armor of the Deathwing. I made the choice that in my new Dark Angel collection Bladeguard Veterans and Sternguard will be "Company Veterans", both units at the company level, and my Deathwing will only be terminators. Aesthetically and organizationally I prefer that.
  11. So I started noticing that the new Dark Angel decal sheets also come with a smaller section of chapter decals for the Angels of Redemption. It got me thinking. I have a kick a** black power armor slap-chop method (see my Black Templar crusade post, which that collection is now owned by one of my good friends, so I still get to lose to them frequently lol), and I have a liking for the Angels of Vengeance both lore and chapter colors & iconography. The Angels of Redemption both look cool and have a unique lore entry too. So I went to Etsy and bought a decal sheet for the Angels of Vengeance. My grand plan is to take a few units of my 6.6k collection of Dark Angels and paint them as Angels of Redemption, and Angels of Vengeance. So I will have a couple units from each second founding chapter fighting alongside my majority Dark Angel units! I think they will look very cool on the tabletop! You don't see that too often in people's 40k collection, at least I don't. I'll attach pics of each chapter in question so you know what I'm talking about. I was quite pleased at thinking of this lol. When you're 50+ you gotta take those victories when you get them! Edit: I made a mistake. It's the Angels off Redemption that we get decals for on the new Dark Angel decal sheet. Also we get some for the Guardians of the Covenant too! I might have to do a unit of them too?
  12. They look great! I just added a second squad to my collection but I did my second squad with hooded heads (my first one got helms).
  13. Protect the model, remove shine especially from decals.
  14. Are you indirectly suggesting that I should thin the Winsor & Newton Galeria Matt Varnish I'm complaining about? What would I use? Water?
