  1. The gauntlet, she has been thrown! I won't be able to soon, but hopefully in a few months ;)
  2. Good old Chaplain Darr Knigh. He didn't ask if he should or could bring his bike to the Feast. I should really let him Cross the Rubicon....
  3. Now that's some good narrative! But so give him some gear, poor guy!
  4. Rite bonus or no, +1 to hit with tanks is awesome.
  5. How absolutely gamey and not at all in the spirit of the narrative. Lame in my opinion!
  6. I'm actually glad they aren't just *another* WS5 terminator unit. They're rules make them effective bullies, which is what they are. They're not meant to win in a straight up fight, they're meant to play dirty. It's thematic and decent.
  7. Honestly just one or two sources is fine. It's a pretty time intensive part of the game and also quite powerful, so depends on your gaming group too.
  8. If you like the idea of terminators with COOL PLASMA MISSILES then do it, and post the results :)
  9. It's yellow - if you're going full codex compliant. The helmet skull is very important too :) Otherwise, his company will be displayed by the iconography on his shoulder/ trim etc
  10. Calling it poorly designed and maintained isn't exactly fair. A hell of a lot of effort goes into the production of rules, which has especially been difficult over the past two years because of, well, *gestures at everything* Ultimately, the competitive side of 40k being catered for in the codexes is still in it's infancy, comparatively at least. 8th was a total reset so now 9th is the tune up and real foray into making a competitive an balanced game. The balance dataslate, CA and seasons are all part of this new approach. There are some outliers, but due to print deadlines being what they are, reacting outside of the balance dataslate is tough - not to mention anything significant outside of a new codex is sure to be met with flack (though what isn't!) Ultimately, rules releases are tied to miniatures releases for the most part - you can't just release everything at once*. Not to mention there is a cap on man power to produce, test and implement those rules too. Because of this, the game will fluctuate in it's meta and that's by design - it keeps things healthy in the competitive scene and to GWs merit, they've been swift in nipping anything truly abhorrent in the bud. To actually address your point of irony though, yep! It is ironic, but the alternative is to not enjoy and engage with the hobby with likeminded people in a competitive setting - much worse! *8th ed index books are an obvious aside here, but they were just unit entries and one faction rule each, nowhere near the depth and flavour available in current books.
  11. The video certainly seems to indicate that! Well, previews from Valrak and the like ;)
  12. After the period of absolutely marine domination prior, it's good we've got a bit of a shakeup in the Meta. Yes, Marines are currently a little on the weaker side in some circumstances but strong in others. It's just the time of the Ad Mech, Drukhari & Custodes right now.
