  1. By the same token, should vanilla marines complain they got no strats from PA ?
  2. That would be my answer as well. I think that marines are screened regularly (both at the recruitment stage and on the line of duty) for psychic ability, so any rise in psykers would be handled anyway.
  3. Previews are almost always in the week before pre-order, very rarely before (and then that's usually minis). Look at the Sister relase, they only started showing rules and stuff this week with preorders yesterday.
  4. What about horrors, to stay within the codex ?
  5. Indeed, and it is often - in my area anyway - a subject of conflict between casual and "hardcore" players because the casual players will tend to play with the rules as they are in the book(s) whereas tournament players will often expect to play by ETC standard rules. I myself am a casual player, but I keep aware of the local tourney scene, and what has happened to me regularly is to play someone who starts with the ever classic "everything is standard GW ruins rules" and then once I start shooting at his units goes "oh but ground floor is blocking LoS" at which point I have to remind them that they can't assume a player will know ETC conventions.
  6. It's one of the final entries in the designer's commentary : https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Warhammer_40000_Designers_Commentary.pdf
  7. Again, I must ask, why do you feel that the only way to achieve "fairness" is having exactly the same amount of points ?
  8. Which still leaves the problem that one army has more "points" than the other, because that is literally (as panzer has repeated) the point and purpose of narrative games.
  9. I what's going around near me is any clue, the main issue people have with open and narrative is that they are "not fair" because the two armies do not have the exact same amount of arbitrarily decided points. But then again, I'm in an area with mostly competitive or semi-competitive players who'd rather win a dull game than lose a fun one.
  10. Or you could, you know, just play open games which is exactly supposed to be this : play the models you like, no or limited stratagems, no detachments...
  11. Well, sure, he's the only primarch that has seen the state of the imperium in M41 and remained faithful (so to speak). But then he's also the only primarch active in M41. Without at least another primarch around it's a bit easy to say he's the only one to react the way he did...
  12. Even if it has become "legend" that doesn't in any way preclude of its competitive status. GW say they do not recommend it, but that's literally it, they do not recommend it. For instance, in the 2019 grand tournament rules, index entries (most of which have become legends) were allowed. In short, it is up to any tournament organiser to explicitely ban (or include) Legends models for his own event. Don't assume, just check.
  13. I am ever dismayed by how "marines centric" everyone's view of the 40k universe seems to be. Most guardsmen can go a lifetime without ever seeing a Space Marine, let's not even talk about regular imperial citizens. A bunch of Blood Angels going berzerk is at best a footnote in imperial history - if you want it to be considred a novelty at all*. When the population of an entire world gets turned into psykers, when the prayers of a bunch of nonames conjures an impassable wall that literally destroys daemons, when a black ship blows up from the inside, those are major, MAJOR news. If the black ships cannot control psykers, then they cannot be delivered to Terra to feed the emperor join the Astronomican choir. In what you call tidbits, I see the phenomenons typically associated with chaos gods, except for servants of the emperor. The big E ascending to godhood, that's something else. Just my 2 cents. * : oh, big surprise, Cawl didn't fix anything, Primaris Marines are not Marie Sues, how "unexpected"...
