Father Mehman's Achievements

  1. Strange they didn’t have an updated TO&E in the 9th Ed Codex. That saves me money on an outdated book. Thanks!
  2. Hello, fellow Guardsmen! It's been literal years, but it seems I'm back to the fold. While away from our glorious Imperial Guard, I heard we got new (and cut) additions; eg, new commander, no more Special Weapons Squads, a guy on horseback. Most of these are obvious in how they fit into Regiment Organization, but there are two new additions that confuses me: the Field Ordnance Battery and the Kasrkin. I'll preface this by saying I do not have the 9th Ed Codex. If the background for both the Field Ordnance Batteries and Kasrkin Companies is worth it, let me know. Also, this is a background question. I have an exhaustive spreadsheet for a whole Regiment and I'd like to include both of these elements. The Kasrkin seem obvious enough as they'll be ordered as a normal Company. (Or maybe not. Please correct me if they have a different organization.) The Field Ordnance Batteries... I have no idea how the Battery is structured. They don't seem to fit in Infantry, and they definitely don't fit as Vehicles, so what is their placement within the Regimental Organization? Can anyone help me out?
  3. I've got a Stormhawk ready to be built for either the Grey Knights or Iron Hands. (A Grey Knights Stormhawk would look neat to me, but that's another discussion.) I am liking the Chapter synergy with the Stormhawk, but, like Ferrum, I'll probably leave the air support on the shelf for now until I can figure out exactly what the birds can do.
  4. This looks and sounds great! I'll be looking forward to more posts.
  5. I've been wanting to get ahold of Greyfax. How easy would it be to switch her head out for another?
  6. Here are two recipes that might work for you: Chaos Cultist: - Medium Northern Bugman's Glow undercoat Cadian Fleshtone basecoat Bugman's Glow wash Kislev Flesh glaze layer Kislev Flesh / Rakarth Flesh (75/25) glaze layer Kislev Flesh / Rakarth Flesh (50/50) glaze highlight Hallvardr Fyreslayer Skin: - Light Average Bugman's Glow undercoat Cadian Fleshtone basecoat Bugman's Glow wash Cadian Fleshtone glaze layer Cadian Fleshtone / Rakarth Flesh (75/25) glaze layer Cadian Fleshtone / Rakarth Flesh (50/50) glaze highlight Hope that helps, Brother!
  7. Blazes - Well, great minds and all that ! Right, I've got some rather unfortunate news: this army is being shelved for the foreseeable future. Well, I guess all three armies are being put on hold, if we're being pedantic. It looks like I won't have the funds to go anywhere with this idea beyond fluff and a few conversions. I don't need to put another army on my plate, anyway. Luckily, I stockpiled a lot of marines back in the day so I still have models to build. There's enough of them that a new Chapter could be built with nothing else required. I guess the Xenos aren't for me .
  8. Superglue, pins, and prayer to the dark gods?
  9. I was really excited when I saw your build for an Eldar hero (Jain-Zarr or someone like that) on another forum and now we can all enjoy it here ! Excellent job!
  10. Bingo! She's been used as an Archon base for other people but I wanted to have a crack at her with my own ideas. She's coming together but very slowly.
  11. Yeah, this was my first pick. As an avid reader of Romance novels, this one sates the 40k itch, too.
  12. Does it have to be all plastic? I'm working on one of two Archons for my army and she uses a Finecast body from a Fantasy model. If you want, I can probably upload a picture or two of her later tonight after I glue her together. Your best bet is probably going to your search engine of choice and typing in "Dark Eldar Archon Conversions". There are a lot of really cool looking conversions out there and there are some that I'm not sure how they qualify as such. Especially some of the Haemonculus conversions. Bleh!
  13. BCK - I thought about doing a zenithal highlight when I was first writing the paint scheme down but shrugged it away. I fully agree with what you say about white paint but I like the look of having black surrounding everything as a liner of sorts. That would mean going in after the white has been sprayed and lining everything manually instead of letting the black undercoat spray do its job. Knowing me, though, I'll probably try it out at some point just for giggles - probably for the vehicles. Actually, that sounds like a great idea for the "tanks" now that you mention it. Cheers !
