Ordo Machinum's Achievements

  1. My opinion is simply this... Augmented, genetically-enhanced, etc super humans shouldn't be "male" or "female". They are an amalgamation of both distinctive features or of no specific features at all. I prefer my monster-soldiers to be monster-soldiers, shy of contaminating chaos influence of course. Oh, and armour is armour. No difference at all. And they should always be wearing helmets. Because I cannot paint eyes worth a dam.

Thank you, Archmagos-Inquisitor. You may proceed. Archmagos-Inquisitor Murlynd pondered the significance of the transmission. Ordinarily, the Ordo Machinum monitored the discovery and exploration of archeo- and xenos-tech by the Adeptus Mechanicus. However, the state of the Imperium was seldom if at all "ordinary" ...especially these days. "There may be something more to be revealed here", he thought. Besides the Inquisitor owed a service to the Unforgiven's Chapter Master for 'loaning' a few squads for his own use recently. As Murlynd reviewed the datafiles again, he began creating several encrypted messages of his own to assemble his forces. +++ VOW +++ I, Murlynd, embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of January pledge to complete (currently reviewing available models) by month's end. +++ PIC ALPHA +++ (Pending model selection) Ciao!
  3. The B&C community has been here for me for many years, even when I've taken a break from gaming. Donation made.
  4. I am torn. I want to do the Inquisition, but the Astartes always distract me.
  5. Will the rules for Forces of the Imperium (IFOR) and Agents of the Imperium be the same as the last ETL? Specifically, the 1:1 unit ratio of one IFOR forum with another IFOR. I would like to build units from the Inquisition, but as they are limited I would also like to build units that would work with them, i.e. INQ and AdMech. Would the points actually go to the IFOR instead of the Agents forum? The AoI itself would be anything contained specifically within the Agents of the Imperium forum, i.e. INQ and SoS, right? Points here would go to the Agents forum straightaway?
  6. Yea, for Techwatch I didn't necessarily want to use straight Deathwatch background. Similar but different. There are many Ordos, so I thought each would want their own type. I was thinking of a more Techmarine look, even using the DW multiple chapter recruits. Techmarines would be seen by AdMechs as being a bit more trustworthy than a standard SM as they've sworn oaths to Mars, etc. Not sure if I want to use the DW Inquisitor pad or not. If so, maybe in another color like Bronze or gold, rather than DW silver. Recognizable on the table rules-wise at least. Maybe a skull-cog on the knee stripe DW scheme. Sorry about that. I swapped it to red, but that looks a little weird. I may just swap it back to B&C auto-normal. That's what I get for trying to be fancy.
  7. This reminds me of 3e with the smaller marine codexes. Sounds good to me. Then, there's the debate of using two books for an army. Maybe GW could just revisit their "Index" approach. Beef the 8e Indexes up to BRB size, a real Codex: Astartes with all flavors. If you could buy one book with BA, DA, SW, UM, etc wouldn't you? 4-5 armies in a book is a great deal at $60/book so no immediate threat of parents putting the kibosh on new players. Do the same with the other groupings of Xenos, Chaos, etc. Maybe that's too big an idea? 9e will be along most likely before it happens. What chapter can you pick that wouldn't cause turmoil with another chapter's fans? "Oh, UM! Everything is ALWAYS about UM" "Oh, WS! There goes RW from the DA" "Oh, BT! Why should they get special attention?" "Oh, IH! They get a new named character and now they're special?" Etcetera. Salamanders. It has to be Salamanders. I am not aware of any complaints from them.
  8. The past year and a half has come and gone without much hobbying. Been recovering from several surgeries, some old augments needed replacements while others have been discarded altogether. It seems the proper time to set some new goals for myself. I request your forgiveness in advance if this moves at a slower than normal pace, but the flesh is weak you know. Being inspired by librisrouge's Ordo WIP, I have decided to resume a similar project of my own: The Ordo Machinum +==========+ +==========+ +==========+ +==========+ +==========+ IMPERIAL DATE CODE: 5/358019.M3 [approx. Thank you, B&C Battle Brother. You may proceed. ORDO MACHINUM The Judicators of the Forge Just as the Ordo Hereticus pay close attention to the Ecclesiarchy, the Ordo Machinum scrutinise the Adeptus Mechanicus. Specifically, they are concerned with the reintegration of recovered STC variants into the Imperium’s armies and the rare adoptions of alien technologies into established Mechanicum protocols. The purpose here is twofold. Firstly, the Ordo Machinum ensure that laxness on the part of the Omnissiah’s worshippers does not permit a flawed technology to enter the Emperor’s service. More importantly, the Ordo Machinum ensures that no Magos is tempted to withhold vital systems from other factions of the Adeptus Terra with a view to increasing the Adeptus Mechanicus’ power within the Imperium. Inquisitors of the Ordo Machinum often accompany Adeptus Mechanicus archaeological teams to distant worlds, the better to see for themselves exactly what has been recovered. They often work in concert with the Ordo Xenos – especially when the world in question has been under alien control or there is any suggestion of non-human origin for the technology the Adeptus Mechanicus seek to recover. --- quoted from the Codex: Inquisition (6e), pg. 18 +==========+ +==========+ +==========+ +==========+ +==========+ Long Term Goal: My long term goal is to build, paint, and play an army of Imperial Agents. Using the Inquisition as their core organizer, I plan to slowly expand with other Imperial forces such as the Astra Militarum, Adeptus Mechanicus, Adeptus Astra Telepathica, and Officio Assassinorum. I would like to include the "Techwatch" (Deathwatch) as well. Optional Extras: I also have my share of classic Adeptus Astartes models, although completing a specific army has always eluded me. I have never done a specifically small army, let alone one requiring various allied factions, and the visceral drama of the Inquisition has intrigued me since Dan Abnett's Eisenhorn trilogy began in 2001. John Blanche's "The Inquisitor Sketchbook" (2005) was also a big factor. Thematic Choice: This army will be focused around the Ordo Machinum, as quoted above from the 6th edition Codex: Inquisition. As the Ordo operates within such close proximity of the Adeptus Mechanicus, even travelling with the Explorator Fleets to survey archeotech finds and recoveries, it would be possible for select elements of allied forces to accompany the Inquisitors. These allies, from whichever Imperial Faction, would have some ties to the Adeptus Mechanicus as well. These allies, for the most part, would need to be trusted and respected as working in the Omnissiah's best interests. Comparable to Astartes' Techmarines who make their vows to Mars and the Omnissiah yet still serve in their Chapter's service, so too do these Imperial Agents commit themselves in a similar fashion while serving the Ordo Machinum. I want to give any allied factions a "mechanicus-tech" look and feel to their models. I can see myself looking over much of John Blanche's artwork in the days to come. Ciao!
  9. Sounds great. I'll be following. Been wanting to start a similar project myself since last year (Ordo Machinum), but I didn't get anywhere with it. Too many RL obstacles. Are the Land Raiders an "Imperial" keyword addition, or is there a source rules-wise to use them for the Inquisition? What models have you used for your henchmen/acolytes? The GW model doesn't seem to fit the datasheet description. Good luck on your Ordo. Ciao!
  10. I love the books and the model. I will be picking up an old copy of Index: Imp 2 from an online seller, and begin going through my bitz boxes to do something similar. I have been satisfied with core armies in the past, not so much soup, however I was looking forward to mixing the Agents of the Imperium as their background supports. I remember reading somewhere, when the Eisenhorn model came out, that Sisters of Silence were suggested in some part for Eisenhorn's retinue. I am not trying to make something overpowered, and from what I have been reading in the forums the rules for the models aren't, but it would be nice to have a little customization and utility between the Imperial factions. What you did there, I see it... Well, it is appropriate considering the subject and models.
  11. A video on Warhammer Community? Well, at least that narrows it down. (where's my cup of coffee?) Okay, found it. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/05/04/australian-championship-warhammer-previewgw-homepage-post-1/
  12. Ah, okay, I mistook it to be an overall restriction. That is not so bad. Yea, I would check with my opponents beforehand. My play skills are too rusty to powergame. I would mainly be grouping the unit factions for their background together. Thanks again.
  13. @ sairence, Slasher956, & shanewatts: Thank you. Most perturbatory. I was hoping to create a force of Inquisitors, Deathwatch, and AdMech. Wanted to use the few models I have in one army. Ah, well. As mentioned, open play is likely my only recourse right now. A WD article would be nice. I wonder if they will have an option to be fielded with the Sisters of Battle? Although using Deathwatch and Grey Knights with Inquisitors may have been fluffy too. Ciao.
  14. Hello Lords and Ladies of the Inquisition, Out of action for quite a while, mind-scrubbed, protocols loaded, mind-scrubbed again, etc. Is the Index Imperium 2 the only core source for creating an Inquisitor army? Is using the "Imperium" keyword the only way to include the other Agents of the Imperium troops into the Inquisitor force? Have either of the Chapter Approved books updated anything for the Inquisition? Thank you for your assistance. Ciao
