Alright, better late than never! Here is the tactical squad from last month that I will be finishing... ...and here is the apothecary. I already finished his base earlier this month though, so he is complete.
-
robofish7591 started following Etl Vii oathbreaker , Tactical Squad, finishing up , apothecary finished and 3 others
-
I, robofish7591, embark on the 12 months of hobby challenge, and for February vow to complete a tactical marine combat squad, and an apothecary's base for the glory of the Ultramarines and the Imperium by the month's end.
-
And here is the finished picture of the chaplain... now I just need to come up with a name!
-
I robofish7591, embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of January vow to finish one chaplain for the Ultramarines and the Imperium Faction! Just a small vow for me this month, classes are starting again and I have some other things that need to get done. Finishing this guy should be easy enough though.

I have already been wanting to challenge myself to paint for a few minutes every day. I am definitely interested in taking part in the 2020 event. -
Adding character to Ultramarines (advice)
robofish7591 replied to Subtleknife's topic in + ULTRAMARINES +
I love that honor guard with the shield... I may need to convert a model up like that! Also, I wonder if that missile launcher devastator concept had any influence on the design of the aggressors? -
It isn't optimal and I only play casually, but I usually take a unit of shotgun vets with melta guns and a heavy flamer in a chimera or taurox. They are usually underestimated so they always end up doing something useful, either blasting a vehicle with their meltas or some unsuspecting infantry with their shotguns and flamer. I also use Tallarn as my regiment so they get some extra mobility when not in their transport.
-
Right now I'm planning on keeping all my metals as Ebon Chalice, and painting my plastics as Martyred Lady so I can take the special character. I also won't need to worry about the plastics being larger than the metals as they will all be in their own armies. I'm really curious as to what the Zephyrim and the Battle Sanctum are. Personally, I am hoping for Seraphim with evicerators or something similar, and some kind of big church/tank hybrid.

After being super busy with school and stuff, I finally got some base coats put on my Leviathan and Stormhawk!

ETL VII +++Space Marines Outpost+++
robofish7591 replied to Captain Semper's topic in + ADEPTUS ASTARTES +
Unfortunately, I'm going to be wearing the badge of the oath breaker again this year. Life just decided it needed to get in the way and completely killed my motivation. While, I was able to get myself motivated again, unfortunately it was too late, I won't be able to get them to a point where I can consider them finished. On a more positive note, I have removed myself from a toxic work environment, I'm going back to school to get a Bachelor's Degree, I have a bunch of terminators that are a lot closer to being finished, and I have a snazzy new chaplain picture for my signature!- 502 replies

I definitely want new rules and units. I love the ones we have, otherwise I wouldn't have started the army in the first place, but I want to see cool new stuff too. I just hope that they don't go overboard with the book keeping and rules that allow you to ignore other core rules of the game. The new space marine rules are cool and thematic, but man having to keep track of what is currently firing at -1 AP or what ignores moving and firing because its a full moon and Calgar's personal chef is on the field kind of makes me wish we went back to the beginning of 8th when everyone only had index lists.

This is just my opinion, but I honestly don't care what chapter's rules and color scheme you use as long as you are up front with which rules you are using. If in your mind Blood Angel's rules fit your Ultramarine assault company, then go ahead and play them as Blood Angels. If you have Not-Azreal painted up and converted for your Howling Griffins, go ahead and use the Dark Angels keyword. Different chapters have different play styles, if someone only likes the Brazen Claws but wants the army to play a bit differently, that is fine with me. My Imperial Guard are Cadians painted in desert camouflage and I use the Tallarn regiment rules because I like the more mobile feel of the army with those rules. Because they are Cadian models do I have to play them as Cadians? What about people who have painted their armies before their factions received chapter tactics equivalents? Should they get stuck with rules that don't fit how they want their army to play just because they put in a lot of hard work to get it painted before this was even a thing?
