  1. As I understand it... Typically low end "cheaper" power weapons had power feeds because they had to be tied to an external power plant. Vs High Quality power weapons that had their power source built in. I assume its about difficulty of manufacture. Also DAOT and early imperium having better tech than late imperium. Exceptions exist of course. Some more powerful weapons will still have external power feeds because they demand more power than any internal device could supply.
  2. I had a BT librarian back in the day. But i started playing BT way back when we were only a paint scheme and a single special character, The Emperor's Champion, who was in the 3rd edition Space Marine Codex. The first i heard that BT didnt have librarians was when they released Codex Armageddon. (Tho I freely admit that there may have been lore prohibition of librarians in a white dwarf or something that I was entirely unaware of prior to the big 3rd war for Armageddon campaign)
  3. Seams like we weathered this round of updates pretty well then. So perhaps the more interesting questions are... What do we think of this update's changes to our opponents? How might we adapt to those changes?
  4. Where do we stand after the January 30th, 2024 Balance Dataslate and points updates? https://www.warhammer-community.com/2024/01/30/metawatch-warhammer-40000-the-first-balance-dataslate-and-points-update-of-2024/ See link to warcom article with PDFs of updates.
  5. Need to add the Primarch Series book for Rogal Dorn. Great Crusade era passages from the POV of Sigismund during his early days in the Templar Brethren.
  6. That would be interesting. On the character front we might get the first gravis lieutenant ie a Castellan in Gravis armour. Tho i would prefer a kit that makes a marshall/castellan in terminator armour.
  7. Interesting discussion. Any thoughts on how any of the new SM detatchments might pull in favor of either unit?
  8. Our range was recently bolstered. And almost every vanilla marine release is also a BT release. So i expect only a single new model kit as described. Probably just a character model. It would be nice to get a BT aesthetic kit for terminators tho. As for rules. We dont know how GW is going to do marine supplements yet. I do not expect chapter supplements that give a bunch of detatchments without losing the vanilla codex detatchments. It would be a bit silly for all the vanilla codex chapters to have 6 detatchments, then have BT/BA/DA/DW/SW have their own set of 6 detatchments plus the 6 vanilla ones. So I expect either all Supplemental Chapters to have the 6 vanilla plus 1 unique detatchment, or their own set of 6 unique detatchments and are not allowed to use the 6 vanilla ones. The "6vanilla +1" feels more likely as it would be easier for GW, and it would be kind of annoying to have to buy the vanilla codex and then not be allowed to use all the detatchments in it.
  9. Lets caveat that. Depends on the tournament organizer. Since the Land Raider Proteus is a seperate data sheet. Its datasheet exists as "Legends" which is not officially supported for tournaments. So for tournaments i would check first. But otherwise it should be fine as a counts as Land Raider Phobos since it is very close in dimensions and at least visually is WYSIWYG if you build the assault ramp version. So. Should be fine, just make sure before you get to a tournament and discover their TO is overly strict. On a side note. The 30k LR kit is about a decade newer than the current 40k LR kit, so it should be a lot easier to build and should look better accordingly. (Besides personal preference obviously)
  10. Welcome back to the Eternal Crusade! 1000 points is and always has been just enough to get into trouble because its hard to have an answer for everything at those points. But your enemy has the same problem. Lots of discussions to read here, and the main Space Marine section is mostly applicable as well. (at least until our suppliment comes out, and who knows if GW will play that conservatively or go nuts with it) Also, we would love to see your army when you get a chance to share.
  11. Thanks! I'm very pleased with how the Multimelta worked out. The hoses were a bit annoying. I had to heat them up in boiling water and reshape them a bit, and ended up pinning them at every join with brass wire... but otherwise i was surprised it was not to difficult of a conversion. All the chains were the most tedious part of the whole build.
  12. Finally had time to work on hobby. started these an embarrassingly long time ago. for Horus Heresy Era: Iron Warriors Dominator Cohort Terminators. (for 40k, just Chaos Terminators with whatever. i guess accursed weapons or powerfists, and the MM can be a Heavy flamer) Conversion materials: Tortuga Bay's Primarisized Cataphractii bodies and shoulder plates (I trimmed the shoulder plates down because frankly they were WAY too big). Model railroad scale chain from "Builders-in-Scale" http://www.builders-in-scale.com/bis/parts-chain.html Combi-Bolters and right arms +1 right arm from Tartaros Terminator kit Remaining leftaArms and all Thunderhammers are from Assault Intercessor kit multimelta + it's hoses + backpack from Eradicators + the arm and part of the weapon is from the Tartaros Heavy Flamer arm Heads are from the Forgeworld Iron Warriors set. Guitar strings for power cables to thunderhammers. Still some things i will likely do to them eventually but this is where I am stopping at for now. Group shots Individual shots
  13. I am really purturbed by the ommision of dual lighningclaws from the Sword Brethren Index card.
  14. I suppose we can add Nick Kyme's "The Iron Kingdom" since there is an obvious Black Templar Sword Brother on the cover.
