This is the start of my Minotaurs army. I think the bases need work, but they're almost there. I'm particularly happy with the convert Molloc to Primaris scale (the IF Guy is used as a base model).

The best way for Grey Knights to deal with Mortarion?
Amayasu replied to Waking Dreamer's topic in + GREY KNIGHTS +
Smite is too close! Use BCs? Sure if you want to tailor against a model that isn't out yet! But I already use BCs... yeah but that's tailoring to beat Morty! ... and so on. The argument eats itself. What you're really saying is that your list will struggle unless you tailor. Mine on the other hand will be fine, because I actually like BCs, they're better than people generally seem to think they are. -

I do. Metas shift all the time; Morty represents a shift. -

He gets FnP against each point of Smite damage, not our Smite. We have Brother Captains. Smite is an answer, alongside Shooting. -
He's considerably undercosted for what he does. I don't think anyone could make a serious argument that he's costed appropriately. It's disappointing as the stigma was indeed going away. But with the new IA indexes we're back to being handed stuff that is flatout better than codex units for less points.

Blanking out Edryc Setorax's Deathwatch Shoulder Pad
Amayasu replied to Alcyon's topic in + ADEPTUS ASTARTES +
Not to hand chap, but i'll post some when he's done. It's a fairly easy kitbash if you've got the bits and pieces; Legs and Torso from Edryc Power claws from Calth Jump Pack from a Vanguard squad Helm from the FW upgrade pack (the helm with the skeletal beak style) The guy on the base is taken from Corax's scenic base Pretty happy with him.- 16 replies

I just took the whole arm off and opted for a Calth HH style claw; I think it works OK.- 16 replies

You don't get a save bonus in that instance. Your unit needs to be *in* the terrain piece to claim it. Narratively it represents rubble and features for infantry to take cover behind when the bullets start flying.

So GW have answered it, but not anywhere you'd expect to look... this should really be in the main FAQ under Transports. https://17890-presscdn-0-51-pagely.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Warhammer_40000_Stepping_into_a_New_Edition_of_Warhammer_40000_ENG.pdf Q. Can I embark within a transport at any time other than in the Movement phase, such as following a consolidate move that takes a unit within 3" of a transport? A. No. You may only embark within or disembark a transport in the Movement phase, unless a rule or ability explicitly says otherwise.
-
Thing is though, the rules don't state that. It states that disembarking is done at the end of the movement phase. Embarking is done at the end of a move. While I don't have strong feelings on whether it should or should not be allowed, the rules do seem to support it. It came up at a local event recently, and we allowed it.
-
Hey all, So I think this is allowed, based on the rules as written, but may be unintentional. Either way it's cool, but potentially potent. Drive a Land Raider up to an enemy unit. Charge the LR to soak Overwatch. Charge an assault unit into the same target unit. Do some fightin' Consolidate the assault unit, keeping within 3" of the LR, and then Embark the LR. Embarking rules state that after a move, a unit within 3" can Embark, and the Consolidation rules state that you simply make a move 3" towards the nearest enemy. So, with careful placement, can you consolidate into a transport? Cheers.

Because if you're going for a full assault list , you're going to alpha strike key units and tie others up to prevent them from shooting; you're going to load up on things that can deepstrike in addition to our stratagem that lets you deploy 9" away from models (unlike the normal pseudo infiltrate that's from deployment zone). You don't need the -1 to advance up the board, because you're already up the board; you're charging turn 1 from at most 9" away, very probably with rerolls in one form or another. That's a tad short-sighted don't you think? Jump assault units make excellent Relic carries and objective grabbers. And yes, while playing an assault army you're going to pick out key targets and try for an alpha strike, you need to be able to weather the effects of a universal retreat rule that exposes your guys to shooting. Anything over 12" away is having a harder time. This is a massive boon for the Raven Guard style of play.

The rest of them are here; http://i.imgur.com/a4xySq7.jpg They're all quite strong, but very fluffy. My thoughts precisely. It's nice that it'll protect devastators and the like, but I'm more excited to play a full Jump army, with half on at the start and stalking the lines. This CT is perfect for RG imho.
