I'm looking forward to seeing how much back peddling we will see from Gorgoff with this announcement. As for the reveal itself, the trailer was great, really set the scene for a new relaunch. The models look fantastic, better proportioned, more menacing, especially that Preator. New articles every thursday? Sign me up -

Sensible - Single miniature, either Praetor or a named character Hopeful - Confirmation of Junes leaks Wishful - Roadmap for where heresy is going -

After a lot of catching up on the latest round of leaks, im cautiously optimistic about it. A lot of the weapon changes, alterations to squadrons and some of the bits around the near useless psyker phase seems great. Really looking forward to seeing the models and the rules proper. Yeah, 100% that is what the model is intended for. But it wont stop some of the Fraters on here using it in their 30k armies -

Why not both? Looks like he is in the standard Custodes armour, could easily be used as a Tribune -

Would love for it to be Corswain. Though I would much rather see that boxed set for everyone else's sake. -

The first point raises a broader business question: how does a company communicate this point - no major product releases are coming out for the foreseeable future - without causing people to drop the product and cost the business a source of revenue? Corporate communication consultants and business classes have dedicated a lot of time to this exact topic, so I won't attempt to answer it since that's beyond the scope of this thread. All I will say is it's not an easy question for any business to answer, so I get @Pacific81's point. That said, that's one of the major issues GW faces with 30k and I think avoiding it entirely is undermining long-term faith in the product line. The first battle sisters bulletin worked fine though. Here you guys, you have been screaming at us for sisters, we dont have anything soon, this is what we are working on. Renders, artwork, illustrations, rules previews. The first was 8+ months before any hints of models coming out... The community as a whole lapped that up. Set expectations early. I would love to see what the FW team are up to, sneak peaks of models they are working on, rules previews for new models, artwork of future publications. The silence we have now is deafening. -

GW as a whole has changed since then, we now have a dedicated marketing team (warhammer community) spewing out 20+ articles a week, we have sneak peaks and previews and roadmaps for other game systems (necromunda, underworlds) The only teaser the age of farkness has had in the last 13 months is one 4 paragraph article and 1 photo of a model that has had rules for 5+ years? It really isnt asking for much other than, during a week of ALL THINGS WARHAMMER that there is something, anything to do with the Age of Darkness. This is the first warhammer fest in 9 years that we havent had a single word about the game system as a whole. -
FWIW, I think Necromunda, Titanicus, Blood Bowl are operating on release schedules that were planned out years ago. There is a consistent logic to their releases, building on previous expansions / editions, that speaks to a longer term vision for each system. Heresy has always been a little more freeform than other GW systems when it comes to releases & schedules, and I think almost everything that was pre-planned at the time went out if the window when Alan Bligh died. It's also probably easier to keep producing the generally smaller updates in terms of new rules and models for these systems than it is to keep a steady stream of Heresy releases. Not saying that it isn't frustrating to watch other game systems with their consistent releases, or that the current situation with Heresy isn't a mess. Just trying to rationalise how it has happened. Alan Bligh sadly passed away almost 4 years ago now... the schedule for the release of heresy should of been brought back in check long before now. A whole game system shuddering to a halt is not to blame on 1 person passing away. Yes things would be different I would hope if he were still here. Back on to the FAQ itself, there seems to be a lot missing to what the community was asking for. There is no mention of any Nightlords things, no mention of if previous rites have been removed or still playable for example the Iron wing rites. Can I still use the old version or do I have to use the updated one? A roadmap for where Heresy is going is sorely needed. What I am surprised at is why there wasnt a Heresy Weekender type reveal on a twitch stream this year. I think that would go a long way to easing some of this communities tension with the game.

Yes, we haven't heard from forgeworld about the age of darkness since the release of the Contekar. The 22nd of Jan was the last we saw anything Heresy related other than this FAQ. 56 days have gone and this drop of an FAQ is all we have to show for it. The only thing we know that is coming for Heresy is these Word Bearer Preators which were shown on the 4th of April last year. I get that there is a Pandemic, I understand that. but why are all the other specialist games getting love and support and their supposedly 3rd core game is left on life support.

I've seen the points cost for these. 28 points each and 1 in 5 can take a heavy bolter equivilent for 10 points. So 150 points for 5 with the Heavy Bolter

Yeah, i've seen it done a few times, and I had a load of them lying around from past conversions. @Pearson73 Thanks, really pleased with how its come out
