Tallarn Commander's Achievements

  1. Hello everyone, I've been busy hobbying and I managed to finish up a 2nd squad of 10 Raptors, "Death From Above" squad. 8 of these models were upgrades (new powerfists and mutations) and 2 Raptors were newly painted. Death From Above, House Nightfall Raptor Squad More Photos I've also added some tiny birds to some Raiders, a Possessed, and a Chosen.... The bats are "battle shock" tokens. Useful in the rare instance when my opponent actually fails battle shock tests against my Nightmare Hunt detachment. Ravenblade, Chaos Chosen, with ravens Mentash, Chaos Possessed, with buzzard Grey Eyes, Raider, with crow So my painting plan for the year is proceeding apace. I have dubbed my projects "Operation Unrealistic" and "Operation Kai." Kai, of course, being the cool gun Chaos Lords could take back in 3rd and 4th edition Operation Unrealistic and Operation Kai Enjoy the photos! House Nightfall, "In midnight clad"

    Tallarn Commander's Chaos

An album for my Renegades and Heretics, Night Lords, Death Guard, World Eaters, and other Chaos armies
  3. Helbrutes are fine in casual games. They are quite fun and often my opponents tend to go after my more effective units leaving the Helbrute free to contribute substantively. I run mine with hammer and lascannon.
  4. Thanks for the batrep! Chaos fleets always did have an easier time dealing with pointy-eared shenanigans than did my Imperial Fleet. Chaos had more range and more batteries whereas my lances bounced off of 'em and my batteries were often out of range.
  5. Nice work Heraclite and Andes. Here is a WiP shot of my Raptor, she's slowly coming along. I hope to finish her this weekend. Daughter of Anarchy
  6. Raptosaurus, these look excellent. I love the muted tones! Yes, I gave up on spray varnishes over a decade ago. It really doesn't take much time at all to apply a thin layer of brush-on matte or gloss varnish.
  7. Congrats on the progress. I'm sure that once you gussy up the base, it will look fine.
  8. Hello everyone, Yesterday I got in a very fun and close game with my Nightmare Hunt Night Lords Chaos Marines. I went up against a very fluffy Dark Angels list using the Lion's Blade Detachment. My opponent's list--my opponent kindly toned down his list because he knew I was taking the rather casual Nightmare Hunt detachment The Dark Angels House Nightfall Night Lords--Short Version of the List House Nightfall Night Lords--Excessively Long Version of the List The Night Lords The Battle I hope you enjoyed the photos! House Nightfall, "Ave Dominus Nox"
  9. Thank you for the write up. I like how the Imperium does not know where the planet Mari is located.
  10. It's fun and inspiring to see everyone's May vows. I, Tallarn Commander, vow to paint for the month of May Daughter of Anarchy, 1 Night Lords Raptor.
  11. Outstanding! The varying tones on the flesh cloak are particularly well executed.
  12. Good luck on the job hunt! We've all been there. I'd vote for Nids myself.
  13. ++++++++++++++CONTINUED FROM ABOVE+++++++++++++++ And yesterday I played a very enjoyable game of 40K. I faced a friend's Nids with my Nightmare Hunt Night Lords. The Nids His List The Night Lords My List Photos and Comments Screamer Killer Moves Up On Turn 1 This Screamer Killer Took a Lickin' and Kept on Tickin'! He killed 3 Chaos Bikers and a almost full-sized Raptor Squad. And he did it all on 1 wound. Huzzah! Night Lords Left Flank Turn 2 On the left you can see Gaunts and a Haruspex. In the middle you can see a Legionaries Squad and 2 Raptor squads. On the Right is a Predator Destructor and Noise Marine Squad. Eternal Damnation, Night Lords Chaos Vindicator Probably my second most valuable unit, the Vindie kept chipping wounds off of big beasties. Endless Night, Chaos Predator Destructor A solid firebase unit The Rapture, Noise Marines Squad Blasmasters are wonderful. Freshly painted Bats Out of the Hell wander by some cool dead dinosaur bones terrain Brood Lord and Duvalier with Raptors Trygon and Friends Appear on the Night Lords Right Flank Prime Organism The Prime Organism was created using the new character creation rules. I loved him. A nice blend of choppiness and shootiness. He was charged and killed by Raptors before he could fight in melee. But he pretty much got his points back in shooting Raptors and Warp Talons off the board. Warriors, Prime with Lash Whip, and Maleceptor (?) The midgame board Bats Out of Hell Raptor Squad and Duvalier vs. Prime with Lash Whip I'd have to say my Bats Out of Hell Raptor Squad with Duvalier was my MVP. They were so fun to use and contributed to the death of 4 units: Warriors, Prime with Lash Whip, Maleceptor, and Haruspex. It was a very fun, chill game on a Saturday morning and afternoon. In the end, the forces of the Night Lords managed a win. Next time we play, I'll bring my Nostroman 9th Traitor Guard. As my opponent has not yet faced them. I'm really enjoying the Nightmare Hunt. It's not the best of detachments (my opponent failed 0 battle shock tests) but is sure is a fun detachment. Ave Dominus Nox!
  14. +++++++++++++++CONTINUED FROM ABOVE+++++++++++++++ And last month I finished upgrading a squad of Night Lords Raptors. Bats Out of Hell Raptor Squad 10 Upgraded/New Night Lords Raptors: Bats Out of Hell Enjoy the photos! +++++++++++++++TO BE CONTINUED BELOW+++++++++++++++
