The cataphractii look stretched and weirdly thin. Breachers are great but I'm in no rush having not played a single game of the new edition.

2nd Ed chaos codex was a work of art. 3E ork codex chopped a lot of stuff from 2nd Ed and I went on a hiatus because the edition change was so jarring. However, chaos 3.5 was superb for the time and wasn't really surpassed. The choices were awesome.

You can consider it what you like, it doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the minis and the rules. You're grasping at straws for an argument (for a change), you're wasting your time frater, don't you tire of it?

Plus Fulgrim, Lucius, characters, detachments, strats, enhancements, fluff, etc. You don't have to understand it, but I was elated that the Third finally got a separate book and range from the regular csm book. So much so I grabbed the "super special edition" codex as I've waited for this since 1996. I've enjoyed playing EC in 10th more than my orks and frankly, no one can take my enjoyment away. As I said, for long term players with extensive collections I get their frustration. However, I came in fresh and I've had a blast. I hope that Iron Warriors get their day in the sun and they get obliterators akin to the artwork earlier on this page. .

As an emperor's children player I appreciate them trying to have substantial differences to the main CSM book rather than being "CSM +1". I feel for those with long standing collections. However, moving forwards, making the traitor legions different to each other is only a good thing. Diversification of playstyles is positive and I wouldn't want to play against death guard/ thousand sons/ etc and the play experience being the same otherwise is there any point? I staunchly wouldn't want EC folded back in. Not now we've had a taste of freedom. However, it'd be in keeping with the Legion I guess.

A few posts above this... Someone wrote "there it is", Valrak then replied with a meme. That's sufficient acknowledgement and confirmation. It's also been a long term rumour from Valrak. Not sure it needs the attitude being displayed here.

Have they let the original heresy wolves sculptor loose on 40k minis now, eesh. Stick it in the same box as the Inquisitor coteaz remake boat.

Not to be blunt, the difference is that the 40k team didn't develop the game, the AoS team did. They could balance combat patrol but need to invest time in it's development.
