New battlewagon, trukk, lootas and bikes could be a lot of fun. Considering design philosophy shared in the round tables, it's very promising. Nazdreg very long overdue and it'll be interesting to see his update. For expanding the Leviathan/ Armageddon marines I'd be down for a vet dread. As it stands I'll be looking at a brutalis with yellow melta muzzles. It's too iconic (ancient?) not to do.

Overall enjoyed the video. The new chap felt like a member of the SLT and not someone to be on the wrong side of. That said, I do enjoy hearing the rationale behind what they've looked to do with the box. Considering this is the 10th starter/ launch set they've done, it must be a challenge to come up with something that's fresh for the old bods like myself. Although the marines (for me) aren't the most exciting half, this will be the first set that I will be playing with my son. That in itself I'm looking forward to. For those purposes, the marine half looks solid, provides a variety of shooting, combat, boots on the ground, a vehicle and a Trinity of classic marine character archetypes. I appreciate the desire for completely new but for what it is, it's decent IMO. Indomitus really was the last time they wowed with marines though. Largely all new units. Leviathan was burny marines and terminators galore. I do think comparatively, armageddon is a better set than Leviathan. I am looking forward to the ork chat today. Seb has knocked out some amazing orks over the years (Badrukk being my all time favourite) and has been there a long time. I just need to decide which clan to paint as (the marines will be blood angels). I'm also looking forward to the rumoured new battlewagon and trukk (although they're not doubt a way out).

I was just on about the detachments in reply to what you'd said. Not sure why 75% of datasheets would need errata either?

I'd wager it'll drop by or on release day of Armageddon otherwise we can't play.

That makes sense. I've always advocated rule of cool. Meta chasing is a fool's dream (in my humble view). There was a reason I played kakophoni in heresy 1.0 when they were released with book 2 and it sure as heck wasn't their rules.

Vindicators are super over tuned at the moment. They really are too good. That's not justification for legends treatment but they could do with a points hike and/ or their dakka toning down.

I don't want to know what Garius was up to in the 1970s. That tash tells it all.

Considering marines for ages (narratively and model base) had been tactical, assault or devastator squads, terminators, vanguard/ sternguard (a more modern inclusion of vets), scouts, bikes plus legion specific stuff I really don't understand the roster bloat. Eradicators with melta, eradicators with heavy bolters, heavy intercessors, gravis, terminators all overlap in function (and with devastator squads). Regardless of the semantics of 'specific roles' they're all heavier marines. Hellblasters, infernus, intercessors, nerf gun marines are just heresy style organisation brought back and applied to marines. It's nice for marine players to be able to pick and choose but I really don't understand why we've got to this point. (I know it's $$$$ driven but that doesn't feel sufficient for justifications). As for the impulsor/ Razorback debate. Why can't people just take what they want? Both exist.

Yes... Apparently just kicking off for the sake of it is the way of dealing with this though. Hey ho. As an aside it's genuinely nice that this new choppa is a great alternative to the claw.
