  1. Adepticon was fun though exhausting. I'm just now recovering from it.
  2. The TL:DR is switch to the Recon RoW and make adjustments. Dropping the tactical squads all together in favor of recon squads with tech marines & cognis-sigums. Corvidae gives units a Precision shot. Athanaen gives you +1 to pinning/moral tests Pyrae gives you hammer of wrath (2). Raptora (+1) invulnerable save to a max of 4+ when 12" from enemy I would actually take Corvidae on your Osirons. The gravis melta cannons can snipe out characters and hqs with instant death. Tactical squads would actually benefit more from either Pyrae or raptora. Corvidae does nothing for them. Pavoni would be optimal, but I assume you are putting the apothecaries in those squads. Also speaking on the apothecaries I would take Achean force weapons over Artificer Armour on them. Personally I would drop the assault squad for a second recon squad. I'd also take techmarines with cognis-sigums for the recon snipers. In my experience: Assault marines just need to be an all or nothing type unit. Either run 2+ or none. They should also take pavoni or raptora over pyrae. Raptora Especially if you deepstrike them and with combat shields have 5++ invulnerable. I'd also drop the sekhmet and take a drop pod for your Leviathan, or a heavy weapons team. But if you want to keep them with the herald that's okay, it's just a poorer option compared to a heavy weapons team with Corvidae, and taking a second/third recon squad gives you 5 scoring units the same as what you already have. The difference is the recon squad can sit and snipe, while the shekmet and herald realistically aren't doing anything until turn 2/3. I'd invest in Seeker squads as well so you could infiltrate your land raiders and still keep them in a Recon RoW. Ultimately it's up to you: but the major changes come with the arcana suggestions.
  3. You have things like a full 20 man Sun-Killer squad with volkite culverins... 100 shots hitting on on 2s, is going to kill just about anything by itsself... thats 785 points by itself...too bad you couldn't then add a techmarine with cognis sigum & Armistos to re-roll 1s for an additional chance at 6s, with a Master-crafted weapon of choice. It's definitely an easy ranged killing machine. What are units that are difficult to kill, that gain super combo boons? Insert Legion specific unit that's hard to kill, and can preferably deepstrike, attach a Moritat and Chaplain to said unit, add in an Apothecary if possible, otherwise an allied Primus Medicae that's also sworn brothers, followed by another allied detachment of sworn brothers with a telepathy/biomancy librarian or Herald to give fear/scoring. My first thought would be something as follows; Loyalists deliverers, bring a chaplain with Jump pack, moritat with Jump pack, salamanders Herald/Primus Medicae/biomancy librarian with Jump pack, and a Praetor with JP & hidden hand to give them fleet 2, T5 Battle Hardened (1), re-rolling melee hits because of hatred, fear, and wounding everything on 3+ or better thanks to Rad Grenades and it's size and loadout easily fits around the 800s points break, you could take this in a Recon RoW with multiple allied detachments. Or in the Decap RoW for that 5+++ the turn they deepstrike. Then you have Suzerains, bring a moritat and chaplain, it's going to wipe out anything it touches in melee.
  4. I think I could do a 10 man assault jump squad. Or we could do something with the 10th company representing 10 years. There's definitely something we can do!
  5. @Jolemai are we doing anything special for the upcoming 10th year of the BA Today thread?
  6. We turn the page on LVO and now I'm prepping for Adepticon. I've been working over another list that is different from the standard Raven Guard List. LVO showed you can win with pretty much any generic army build; though sometimes it is more difficult to do so. I do believe my goal is to do another generic list building upon the strengths of a Decap Strike. Though if I had the time I'd build a Pride of the Legion lists with Tartaros and Raven Talons. A very expensive, but fun unit in theory is running a veteran squad with Raven Talons, a Thunder hammer and 2 melta guns; for infiltrating up and nuking something, while still having a strong counter strike and 2 wound models. It's a lot of points though. One of my favorite event exclusive units right now is being able to customize your Praetor into a consul. Both LVO and Adpeticon will utilize it. Thematically I've build a Moritat Praetor with dual archeotech pistols. It's pretty much the only broken unit I'll run; everything else will be generic mid tier shooting.
  7. I'd really like to paint some more Carmine Blades this year. Still holding out they make Narrative better again.
  8. Went 3-1 at LVO this year. Had a lot of fun. Lots of new blood came over from 40k.
  9. It's always fun to be at the sneak. Vegas never disappoints! Wife and I landed yesterday, having a great time! See the updates on the flip side!
  10. I'm getting these to convert into Assault Reavers. Maybe I'll get some for the Raven Guard. Not sure yet. Excited all the same. I do think they would look great with the 40k inceptor flying sticks though. That's definitely something that would make them look better!
  11. I think you have to run 2 to make them count. Most events I've gone to, don't do a ton of anti-air. You also want to bring them in together to saturate your opponent's firing options.
  12. Looks like psychic abilities can't be cast, but the psychic weapons can still be used in reactions. That's what was explained to me. Some of us got it wrong initially. Good thing it's not that serious.
  13. Now that psychic powers are no longer available as a reaction makes everything feel better! It is a good nerf. Telepathy took a bit hit. So there shouldn't be complaints about bringing it anymore! I very much enjoy my thematic shadow caster. Biomancy stacking was troublesome against thousand sons. If you shot and then charged Sekhmet terminators with a Praetor/Primus Medicae you could be facing down T8+ infantry with FnP and IWND. That's a big plus. Although Achean Plasma can't use their special enhancement in overwatch or return fire now. That is frustrating. Pie plating with pyromancy was also a culprit. Especially if you had to charge through 3 - 6 pools of fire. (They still need to confirm if pyromancy is considered flame/melta attacks though)
  14. GW over corrected. And I agreewith making hellfire heavy 2. I would think Alphas would just take Suzerain, or Star-killers and be fine. It's down to S4 from 5.
