    Monument Hobbies are US based and their sable brushes are fantastic. Mine have held up better than my W&N series 7s and they cost less than half as much so I'm much less afraid to actually use them. Their synthetics are good but not as good as the sable ones, I think. I've given Monument brushes as gifts to other hobbyists and so far no one has had anything bad to say about them.

    And Hormagaunts are done. This is absolutely the most productive I've ever been at painting infantry! Hopefully I can keep the ball rolling

    July is finished: This is by far the fastest I've painted infantry and my first real attempt at batch painting so I think I'm a convert, haha. So, onto the next batch. For the remainder of July, I, Khulu, vow 10 Hormagaunts: I'm hoping to finish these and still do 10 more termagants this month to finish up my first CtA vow, but we'll see.

    I, Khulu, heed the Call to Arms and pledge to paint 20 termagants and 10 hormagaunts for for 30 points for the Glory of the Tyranids and the Xenos Stronghold on or before 15th September 2025, or bear the badge of failure until year's end. I really struggle with painting infantry so I'm hoping this will help me knock these out without putting it off forever!

    In 8th edition, @_Saracen fired a Mortis Dreadnought with Twin Heavy Bolters into a unit of my Canoptek Acanthrites. 12 shots, hitting on 4s because the Acanthrites gave -1. 11 out of 12 shots hit, all 11 wound (I believe this was also on 4s). I proceeded to fail 10 3+ armor saves, wiping the whole unit. Just a near perfect round of shooting.

    Welcome! As far as finding time to engage with the hobby, I listen to audiobooks on my commute or as I walk. If you are doing much of either that could be an option!

    How is everyone designing heraldry for their houses? Or is anyone bothering to? I'm not much of an artist so I've been trying to tweak a lesser house crest but the results so far have been mediocre. Is there an easier way to do this?
