  1. Oof that would be a good reason for the (presumed) delay. That could be a very long delay if repackaging needs to happen, even longer if it has to do with the mold. Shame there will still be a split between getting the Preceptor sprue and the Defender sprue. It'd be cool if the Defender sprue came with a generic pilot to fill up the space, though two unique weapons may just do it.
  2. Doomsday Arks are excellent for anti tank. In my experiences, next in line are Lokhust Heavy Destroyers and the Nightbringer or Void Dragon. There was a guy in a league I played in recently who used three DDAs. Not much stood up to his shooting.
  3. This was part of the driving force behind my own budding Knight collection. I don't think having a Codex really impacts building an army though, so long as you're magnetizing weapons on your Questoris. Armigers I'm not bothering to magnetize, though at times swapping between the two options seems to be the only way to move 10-30 points around in a list. There's also a hope that Codices aren't replaced with 11th. It's not unprecedented for a Codex to bridge editions, though we'll have to wait and see what GW decides to do.
  4. Just tossing it out there, Questoris Knights have been removed from the GW store for almost a week now. It was mentioned that there would be a repack with the Preceptor/Canis sprue in one box and the new Knight one in the other. Last preorder was 30k, I figure this coming preorder will be AoS. Fingers crossed we see Knights released mid August.
  5. Oof, confirmed last in line for the release schedule. Next week's preorder article.
  6. I thought the same, though there's still the chance it still gets announced for preorder tomorrow I suppose. Looking at the roadmap, nothing "after" them has been released yet. We've just seen models and combat patrols for GK and BT. Then for 'on the horizon', we've now seen Votann as well as the 1st founding characters and combat squads.
  7. When Flyers arrive on the table there is no movement. You basically set them down on the edge they arrive at and point them in the direction they'll be going the following turn. This is the same for Deep Strike, except then you can arrive anywhere so long as you're 9" away from the enemy. Yes. I do not know how this interacts with tournament/matched/competitive play, but for all games following the Core Rules you may arrive T1. Not that I am aware of, no. I'd say this is best suited to dropping shooting units somewhere they couldn't otherwise be T1. You could also do this to a unit via the Hypercrypt Legion if you went 2nd. End of opponent's T1 remove however many units you're allowed and off they go, perhaps arriving with the Cosmic Precision stratagem (which works even if you don't have Deep Strike).
  8. I agree that it does feel sort of backward to get updated points without the book being released. GW's true reasons are known only to Tzeentch, but the EC release being moved up seems a reasonable hiccup in their timeline. As redundant as is may seem most the time, I like having the weapon options broken out across a few different datasheets. It offers more variety in abilities which means ever so slightly more variation in list building. Having said that I doubt that the new Knight will be broken up into separate new entries. At best we could perhaps see one or both of its weapons show up in other datasheets, but I agree that it will likely be it's own thing like the Preceptor. If GW tossed out an assault cannon (with pintle flamer of course) Armiger variant I would end up with a larger collection than planned
  9. I noticed yesterday that the Combat Patrol has indeed been added to the app. Now to paint a couple Armigers and convince someone to play against them
  10. If we're thinking of old kits, Destroyers got done with the exception of Lokhust Destroyers and Lords. The former kit still has green rods and the latter doesn't have a kit (which makes it truly amazing to me that we kept the unit into this edition). This would be an opportunity to resolve that, but I doubt we'll see a Lokhust kill team. My bet is on Canoptek critters, maybe new or alternate Wraith models like how there's alternate Genestealers the came out a while back. Flayed Ones would also be nice to get alternate sculpts for do diversify their aesthetic. Could add in Xenos camouflage to their Human wardrobe.
  11. I guess the Combat Patrol wasn't meant to be permanent/official. This is from the article about the new Knight being released with the Codex: ”The Imperial Knights have no new Combat Patrol, so this section is instead replaced with an in-depth painting and heraldry guide that’s perfect for getting the most out of your large centrepiece miniatures.” At least we're getting some interesting media in place of the Combat Patrol, and not just a smaller book (though I imagine it'll be a smaller book by nature given the number of data sheets).
  12. The current canon isn't their original canon, so I wouldn't say your own head canon being a little different again is an issue. When it suits the narrative of my games, my Nightbringer isn't a shard and is in full control of the Necron Legions at its disposal. The books are pretty good, if you're interested in Necron lore I'd recommend them. As far as I know it's the first GW release aside from the Codex fluff that depicts the Necrontyr pre-biotransferrance.
  13. I like a lot of the things that you're saying here, specifically the parts about the Necrontyr's relationship with the Old Ones and how they interpreted each other's actions. Not that I disagree, but what got you to the percentages of power achieved by the various factions at the beginning? Relatively recently there was a pair of books released called Twice Dead Kind: Reign/Ruin that showed flashbacks the main character was having to their time living as a flesh and blood mortal (I really enjoyed the books). If I recall correctly, Necrontyr lifespans were still quite short at the time they first encountered the C'Tan. What expanses they had made had been shut down after their first conflict with the Old Ones, and they had been banished to their own solar system so couldn't escape the radiation of their dying sun. It was their studying of the sun's radiation that led them to contact with the first C'Tan, who was eating the star at the time. Heavy emphasis on the "if I recall correctly".
  14. What's the pace for releases these days, is the consensus we'll be seeing one of these pictured releases each month into next year or is this a 2025 roadmap?
  15. Some excellent points to consider here. Once I saw it's two Armigers holding objectives for a turn my first thought was on target priority. I remember playing my Land Raider back in the times of armour values and once I got rid of the things with attacks s8 and higher my tank was free to run amok as I saw fit. This seems quite the same in order to stay functional in scoring points. Also I can confirm that the Armiger box contains parts for both variants. They're the two models I've built for my army so far, and I went one of each just so I got to see them both built. Now I have a Combat Patrol! Glorious.
