Demonl's Achievements

  1. Major_Gilbear is correct, key is to sand each side of the join.
  2. Plastic MKIII legs are a bit boring compared to the resin ones...
  3. I used to use only Vallejo's primers, which are ok. Now I use Badger's Stynylrez more often after finding the same results as some other posters in this thread. One additional thing is that I find myself spending a lot less time declogging/cleaning during primer coating sessions with Stynylrez that I did when I used Vallejo.
  4. WIP Custodes Terminator. Trying out the Schminkle Bronze pigments, very shiny, probably more so in person than in the photos here.
  5. Torso is from the Sons of Horus torso upgrade pack from FW.. The scheme reminds a bit of the Collective Visions art. If you want to continue it i'd consider both Death Guard and Emperors Children upgrade head packs from FW Puppets War do a nice top knot bits pack which could add some character
  6. Kharybdis Assault Claw is a large transport too.
  7. Use different washes on different parts (e. one colour on the flak armour and another for the cloth/trousers etc). My SA Lasrifles were the airbrush the same grey but i used different washes (vallejo in this case) to contrast the different materials but keeping the overall drabness.
  8. Much smaller, they are designed for Solar Auxilia right shoulder pads
  9. I dont use the game color washes but i do use the model color washes and they seem to work nicely to me, they dry very matt.
  10. Solar Auxilia are lovely miniatures. I airbrushed a variety of shades of grey (3 not 50) from the Vallejo model air range, then I used a variety of Vallejo washes to distinguish the various parts of the armour from each other. Used European Earth for the hard plates, Blue Grey for the padded garments, dark grey for some of the details and oiled earth for the boots. I'm lazy so utilise the AK Interactive Diorama light earth with a dark grey wash for the base.
  11. MKII Luna Wolves with some White Scars upgrade heads (think they look nice for LW standins). The FW decals are a pain to do... My Mechanicum is split into two parts, the first comprises of Legio Mortis and it's support (including tanks, knights, secutarii and the ordinatus). The second part is a separate Forge Wold with the rest of the Mechanicum units (automata, thralls, myrmidons, vulturax, thallax, etc). The first is largely black and gold whilst the second is a mostly metallics (VMC Magnesium + Pale Burnt metal wiht some red trim).
