...while true the deathwatch had it first, sternguard veterans have had access to special issue ammo every edition since the veteran squad was split in 5th edition . Even post 8th when they removed the variable ammo types from sternguard, it's been represented as a more lethal boltgun.

There's also the new nipple guns, which seems to be an option between two heavy stubbers (Cawl...) or two balefamers. So I see there being a funny 4x baleflamer + battle cannon + scourge, for when you really really hate infantry like that guy from battletech who keeps shoving 5 flamethrowers and 8 machine guns into mechs

There's a bunch of old world kits doing this as well I believe

My choices were the Lord of Poxes, Urkhan the Dark Warden, and the Saturnine Praetor - but was definitely some difficulty in choosing, especially with the space wolves and necromunda models in play.

I throw my lot in with team purple, seems the most striking. My own weekly progress, finished the first 5 of the despoilers and old horny here, wrapping up the trifecta of characters Little slow going, but I'm iterating on a new method for doing the red to speed things up, need to subject these guys to Matt varnish to see how they fare. I think I need to lay off the storm host drybrush though, makes em too shiny.

I, Cryptix, continue the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of November pledge to complete 20 Despoilers, 10 Praetorian Chosen, and a Sorcerer, Champion, and Chaos Lord by month's end.

Vow completed! Honestly thought I wasn't going to make it, but as it turns out getting laid off has a way of freeing up time .

Deciding to call it here got a partial completion rather than rush the laecrymata archmagos when I ain't feeling it. Hey I achieved my goal of painting every last black robe...it just cost me having to paint white robes instead. And for my next trick... I, Cryptix, continue the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of October pledge to complete 20 Despoilers and 6 Objective Markers by month's end. Between my birthday, my mum visiting, and the game I work on launching an important update, taking it slow this month. Can always vow more troops if I finish early, heaven knows I've got loads to paint :P

Another weekly update, managed to finish painting all of the black robed models. Honestly at this point I'm happy, but I'm still going to try to push to finish the 4 laecrymata guys (set apart by their white upper robes)...the tech priests are almost done, just need to highlight the metallics before tinting them. The Archmagos on the other hand...all that hard to reach trim over white so it needs multiple coats...why did I have to go for white scrubs

Weekly update time! Managed to finish painting the myrmidons. Going to move onto the myrmidax and archmagos on abeyant (Scoria stand in) next, started working on dry brushing on their metallics since they have the most on them

I, Cryptix, continue the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of September pledge to complete 10 Techpriests of varying disciplines, 6 Myrmidons, 3 Arcuitor Magisterium, 1 Magos, 2 Archmagos, and 1 Archmagos Abeyant by month's end. Man, crazy to imagine my original plan was to finish all my mechanicum by end of summer, now I'll be lucky if I'm finished by new year lol. Still got 80 tech thralls, 4 Armigers, 2 Krios, a Thanatar, and an Atrapos after this too lol. Trying to at least get all of the clergy out of the way so I never have to paint a black robe again .

I did get my two CTA vow done! ...but i burned out in the process and thus the terminators and Master of Possession will carry over for next month. Really need to get better at pacing myself honestly.
