The daemon buffs dont really help CSM because of the stupid battleline requirement. You get hit by a 100+ point tax if you want to take anything good. These changes really suck for CSM mostly because they just kill a lot of the fun aspects of the army. Points adjustments would have been enough.
The restrictive colour palette is on purpose! Im allowed black, gold, steel, red, green, bone/paper. I thought I would hate the purity seals being black but I like the idea of the warp tainting them.
This is why we don't get cheap on geller field maintenance!
I have been slow on updates but I have painted quite a bit since my last post. I got 5 zerkers, accursed cultists, and a bunch of daemons. Those aren't quite ready for sharing though. After I finish these "sanguinary guard" im going to work on some gellerpox infected painted to be more accursed cultists of course.
Bloodletters are terrible even in daemon lists. Too expensive, not enough attacks, unit sizes are too small, and fragile.
If you want a deepstrike threat for less points just take 5 warptalons.
Oh... just base boated the hair with VMC violet then airbrushed a super thin royal purple at the top until it had a slight fade. I think it could be better though. I will try to make it starker by going brighter than violet on the base coat.
The banner is free hand. I painted the banner caliban green then sketched a mark of slaanesh on it with frost white. Then I airbrushed some super thin yellowish green over it. I highlighted some of the sharp corners of the mark with the same green/yellow.
I feel the same way now that we have much more information.
CSM can choose lethal or sustained hits but will take a bunch of mortals over the course of a game. Black Templars just get either all game with no mortals... and oath of moment. Ridiculous.
I finally got around to painting these chosen I bought a year ago. :( I think I will add 5 more chosen and some zerkers next. After that I will have nearly a full "hounds of abaddon" themed black legion army.
