  1. I mean it was neither of those things, really. Cults3d is not a repository of 3D printing files, it's a shop where you can buy those and thus can be hold accountable for it like any other shop. Not to mention that it doesn't infringe on GWs IP since they don't sell any Onager Gauntlets. It's a fanmade creation based on a picture. Just like GW can't copyright power armored soldiers in space they can't copyright a mecha fist lol
  2. It only circumvents the line of sight restriction, not anything regarding targeting characters. Still got to rely on the good 'ol sniper units for that ... or use the hammer method and just wipe everything in front of or around the character first lol
  3. It really doesn't look that chaotic to me from the Beachhad Brawl. Very onesided in fact: T'au 7-0 T'au 7-0 Custodes 6-1 Custodes 6-1 Deathwatch 6-1 Tyranids 6-1 Custodes 6-1 Custodes 5-1-1 Custodes 5-1-1 Custodes 5-1-1
  4. Let's see if Broadsides will get sold out next then. :D
  5. Yeah I was pretty much expecting that. Stormsurge and Hammerhead are the ones that make people go wild on the internet and drive sales up but it's not the best you can get for your points.
  6. The only problem with the +1S at 12" range is that you WILL get charged unless you pretty much table the opponent. It pretty much turns all your units into suicide units. And if the enemy wants to stay away you get nothing out of it. The 5++ when advancing is nice too but makes you hit worse obviously, which directly counteracts the increased strength trait. You really don't want to hit worse when you get within charge range. It can be super good but is rather difficult to apply without shooting yourself in your own foot and you shouldn't expect more than a few key units to really benefit from it in most games.
  7. Since they're infantry they'll benefit nicely from the Dal'yth tenet as well. 1+ save against ranged attacks that don't ignore cover even when out in the open. :D
  8. Which is what 99% of the people are playing and what tournament play is based on. ;)
  9. I haven't done an indepth reading of everything yet but I definitely like that different Commanders bring different abilities to the table instead of just having a slightly different profile. Kroot improvements are awesome to see but ultimately overshadowed by T'au units again of course since they for some reason still don't get to benefit from half the rules in the codex. I gave up on that ever changing so I'll take what's there. I'm not really big on the changes to the Ghostkeel as 18" really isn't much room to avoid getting targeted on the smaller boards these days but at least it has T7 now so that's something. The custom Septs are rather underwhelming in comparison with the official Septs but I was most likely going to stick to Dal'yth anyway. Gonna enjoy the improved armor on all infantry (including Crisis Suits and Commanders since they got the Infantry keyword now as well). As for Shadowsun, Aun'Va and Aun'Shi, those do require some form of Errata as they do have a rule to not disrupt Sept rules when taken in a detachment of another Sept, but their rules don't circumvent the new overall rule of being allowed to take only one subfaction keyword in your whole army (not sure if that was just a new tournament rule or new core rule though).
  10. Huh, I didn't really think much about it yet but it seems you're right. Drones get ignored for determining the majority toughness, the Drone Controller does explicitly say Drone units and docked Drones can't detach on their own and get automatically destroyed when the parent unit is destroyed (and get ignored for everything else as well so they're practically just additional weapons and that's it).
  11. Honestly people are much less surprised or mad about it than it sometimes sounds. Most understand that T'au shooting needs to be scary. It's just some funny memes and initial shock reactions. If Marines or Orks had that kind of shooting people would be a lot more mad because they also have decent melee and psychic units on top of that.
  12. I'm not sure taking something as huge as the Stormsurge in small point matches would still be considered casual tbh. It's our Imperial Knight equivalent. If you want to use it I'd consider building up to at least a 1500p army. Other than that, more Strike Teams, Pathfinder and Stealth Suits are always a good option as long as you have your anti-tank needs already covered.
  13. You're confusing most fair with 100% fair. Narrative and Open are much less fair. Out of the three ways to play it is undeniably the most fair period, so that's become the standard way to play. Disagree that Matched Play became the standard because it was the most fair. And no, I am not confusing most fair and 100% fair. No need for mind reading here. If that's not what's happening here then it seems we're simply talking about different things. Happens.
  14. Billing Matched Play as the premiere way to play 40k was a mistake. People do want a common ruleset, but any time a comparison is done between "competitive" and "casual" modes of play in games, people pick the casual mode. Matched Play is not the problem, really. It's the most robust way to play for pick up games and has been for a long time. Most people simply prefer playing with rules that provide the most fair baseline. The real problem was mixing tournament play into basic matched play. That's the thing, Matched Play is not the most fair baseline. Some armies are just better at scoring Primary + Secondary. Some Secondaries are much better than others (i.e. Herd the Prey, Stubborn Defiance). The most fair baseline is a single set of objectives with battleforged army rules. You're confusing most fair with 100% fair. Narrative and Open are much less fair. Out of the three ways to play it is undeniably the most fair period, so that's become the standard way to play.
