    There were a few during 30K that stayed loyal to the emperor. Nathanial Garro is one and went on to become the first Knight Errant. 40K wise, I think its not likely to happen, Nurgle has infected them so fully that even their soul is devoted to the chaos gods. I may be wrong but unlike Loyal Space Marines who fall to Chaos, its almost unheard of for Chaos Space Marines to go back to being Loyal. The closest would be the Alpha Legion, who still see themselves as loyalists to the Imperium of Man (just not the emperor)

    My idea is to run them as the fist exemplars that turned traitor and joint the iron warriors M32. I’m thinking of going for a reddy mud colour (I have 6 other armies all with different bases) and this is one I haven’t tried. Maybe using Stirland Mud and a Ruiz’s rust drybrush

    Cheers for the suggestions. I’m not going to be going with metallic bases. As Xenith said I think it would flow to much and the model wouldn’t pop.

    So I picked up to chaos halves of Shadowspear and will be painting them as iron warriors. I have no idea how to base them though. I’m looking for a quick and simpleish scheme, more than likely using the GW technical paints. What would you evil lords suggest?

    The mound line remover is really good for larger panels such as along the leg but it’s still good to use a craft knife for the smaller areas

    I would certainly get some Dragoons next, they are amazing and i think will really compliment what you have there already. a unit of 3 would be a good shout!

    Easy enough to build patrols out of the Necrons. And a very good place to start for a battalion only needing another troops choice. Over on warhammer community they just released teasers for mephrit dynasty which appeals to me as I love destroyers

    I agree if not done right CF look to much like ultramarines. I washed mine with nuln oil and medium and the blue is still very light the units on their own look lik UM but on the table you can’t mistake them for CF the dark imperium box really is great. I picked one up and traded the DG for more marine and it’s now the back bone of my army. Does very good work
