  1. Interested to see which wolves are covered: "as well as a cadre of Space Wolves and Salamanders who have appeared as major characters in previous Horus Heresy novels". Howl of the Hearthworld doesn't really qualify as a major character in a novel. Bodvar Bjarki and his watch pack from Crimson King seems like the most obvious choice, however it wouldn't really call them major characters. To be honest im happy with any extra wolves in the siege series as i was only really expecting to see Russ and Corvus (as well as Ultramarines and Dark angels) in either book 10 "breaking the siege" of book 1 of a scouring series.
  2. Was there a binder or anything extra in this delivery? Yep a binder and maybe other bits inside, will check later
  3. Issue 11: 3 flamer aggressors Issue 12: foul blight spawn Sorry can’t ipload pictures for some reason! My issues 7,8,9 and 10 just arrived.
  4. Thanks skinonmyteeth. Trying to get at least 1k of each faction I own painted for 8th. Wolves and mechanicum are done, feel like gk need to be next but I’m struggling I find a 1k army that works post the faq changes
  5. But you can Bring in a Knight 9" away from the enemy with Stygies Strategem :-) Stygies Strat can be used at ANY Unit in you army :-) Naggi The unit has to have the Stygies keyword unfortunately
  6. I, Anarnii pledge to undertake the warlord and complete Bjorn by 2nd March 2018. My Bitz order arrives tomorrow!

  8. Love the team photo. Would be great see an army list and tactics, just building my first 1000 points of mechanicum.
  9. Probably Stygies at the moment for the dogma and stratagem
  10. Hi guys, Only just starting with mechanicum so really keen to hear your thoughts on how to build the best 1000 point shooty detachment to compliment either a grey knighTa drop detachment or speedy space wolves list. I have got 2 of the start collecting detachments and an enginseer so i’m looking to add to the list below to get it to 1000 points. Currently have: Magos Techpreist 10 x vanguard with 2 plasma 5 rangers with 1 arquebous 5 rangers with 1 arquebous 2 neutron onagers What next? Robots? Infiltrators? Dragoons? Balistarii?
  11. Is the normal build for Skitarri squads normally have 2 special in a unit of 5? I’m just nervous that 3 woulds at toughness 3 with a 4+ isn’t much to defend 50pts of arquebus and could get wiped off the board really easily
  12. Hi guys, Just got 2 start collecting boxes to start my new mechanicum detachment. Planning on running it as 2 x 5 rangers with 1 arquebous each and a 10 man triple plasma vanguard squad. When and where do you normally takes the omniscope or enhanced data tether upgrades? Any builds or load outs which work best?
  13. What ratio of special and heavy weapons are you having in an all comers list? I’m thinking of a melta bike squad, quad las contemptor, las bjorn, plasma grey hunters in 1500. I’m really struggling in 8th where we seem to have more ways to get special and heavy weapons where to draw the line and aim for bodies instead
  14. I feel like you're drawing the wrong conclusion from that scene. Bluff and bluster is part of their culture. After all, they have an entire caste of mortals whose sole job within the Chapter/Legion is to tell tales of valor and skill at arms. Bludbroder doesn't waltz into that confrontation secure in the knowledge that he and his pack stand a chance against a Primarch; just look at the caveats he puts to the scenario: alone and cornered, and even then it's couched in the term "perhaps." Bludbroder is saying that in a situation where the pack has every conceivable advantage. . . maybe they would win. Compare to when the Alpha Legion actually achieves that situation, and they still lose. The point of the conversation is that Bludbroder's pack knows if it has to enact Malcador's sanction, in all likelihood they're going to die and they're going to fail. But they're going to make the attempt regardless because one thing they never fail at is following orders. Currently re-reading vengeful spirit and I disagree, I think a watch pack could kill a primarch in the right situation, especially RG as he is on the lower end of the combat scale by primarch standards. Basically Horus is performing a ship boarding action against some ultramarines. About 25 marines let by a centurion read Horus in combat. Then centurion manages to cut through horus’s armour and draw blood. It says: “Against so many sublime warriors even a primarch could be brought down. Primarchs were functionally immortal but they weren’t invulnerable” So given this is in the context of full armour Horus vs standard ultra marines, I think the elite of the legion designed to kill other marines (wolves) against a weaker combat primarch (especially if not in armour, like the alphas in unremembered empire) would have a chance.
