I think they fit the aesthetic of late-heresy well too with some head-swaps, older mark shoulder pads, and some of the older bolters. This is why I didn’t include the jetbikes, as I don’t think they will fit with those models. The crew on the rapiers should be easy to replace though! As you can see, I dropped a bunch of stuff, and added some autocannon support, some rapiers, a plasma support squad, and a MoS to help my shooty guys. I’ve also added a 3rd contemptor because I just adore them and I figure I might as well squeeze in as many as I can with the Mortificator. The only thing I’m not sold on it the justaerin. I’ve gone down to one squad in a pod, but I was wondering if I could maybe drop the pod, make the squad bigger and footslog them as well? I feel like they’ll be too slow do earn their points back, but I also feel like one 5 man squad in a pod is kinda weak. I’d love to include them somehow though. Thoughts on how best to do so? Also considering dropping the tacs down to 15 and increasing the size of the plasma squad

I personally doubt we will ever get them back. There are some that look similar on shapeways, though I'm not sure of their quality

I hope it stays in 7th. My dislike of 8th is what finally pushed me to start building a legion. I don't think 8th is terrible or anything, it's just a different game, and it's not for me. It just doesn't feel like 40k imo

Thanks for the replies everyone! Sounds like a decent amount of legions do it well. I would've never thought of Blood Angels or Worls Eaters and footsloggers! My friends has all of the books, so I'll make a list for all of them and see what I like best. I'll let you know what I choose!

Hello everyone! I'm just getting started in HH. I'm planning on placing my first order next week. I really like the idea of just putting a bunch of bodies on the table. I'm planning on playing Imperial Fists with the Stone Gauntlet RoW, with masses of footslogging infantry, maybe with an Achilles or two for added flavor. It's was an easy choice because the VIIth is my favorite legion hands down. However, I already have a massive Black Templar force for 40k, and I wonder if I might be happier doing something besides more sons of Dorn. Is there another Legion I should consider? Thanks!

I feel like elites are so necessary now. A new staple of my list this edition is company vets all the combi-plas and chainswords. The sergeant gets a thunder hammer. They're pretty horrifying

Thank you brother! No hurricane will keep me off the path of the righteous for long! I've been playing with the idea of getting some TH/SS Termies as well, since they seem to be the gold standard of assault units for SM. Perhaps I should pick up some of them instead of Cataphractii or Tartaros? Although knowing myself, I'll probably pick up a box of them all. A Marshal's household is never full, after all lol now, just to figure out how to get tabards on them all.. ;)

Well met, brothers! I have a question for you. I have been crusading since 4th, but I've never owned a terminator model. Not one. I was never big on the look of Indominus armor, I thought they looked like angry hippos. I've always depended on crusader squads to do my heavy lifting, and while crusaders aren't exactly toothless with the coming of 8th, they're not the mulchers anymore that I've loved all of these years. I've decided that I need a unit or two in my army with a bit more punch and/or staying power for my crusade. I've heard good things about Vanguard Vets, and I plan to add some soon, but now that terminators also come in the Cataphractii and Tartaros flavors, I am interested in them as well. Do any of you brothers use either of these variants? And if so, how do you like them? The idea of Cataphractii with dual claws pouring out of an LRC seems pretty cool to me
