  1. I remember the same amount of advertising when the LotR miniatures magazine came out all those years ago.
  2. TITH I found out there is a huge board game cafe on Walsall High Street that has gaming tables and a WH shop... How did I not know about this!? Am going to be spending a lot more time in my sister town from now on.
  3. Guys Mortal Realms is out in Tesco and they have hundreds of copies. Picked up four of issue 1, worth it for the scenic bases alone.
  4. In Britain I've seen the first couple at Tesco, the majority at some branches of WH Smith, and for some reason one particular newsagent stocks it but I haven't seen it anywhere else. Even GW themselves don't stock it. Apparently one ASDA did have them for a fair while but I never had any luck. I think what it is is that if a place orders one in for a customer, they get a few of them.
  5. Nothing special, just a bit of Contrast. Not had much time over Xmas (work in retail). Still waiting on some flesh tones. Sorry for the awful photos. And a possible scheme for a DIY chapter (was waiting for some paint to dry).
  6. Guys just a heads up, but Forbidden Planet (.com not .co.uk) has preorders available of all Mortal Realms (AoS) issues. I've ordered issues 79 and 80 of conquest, and issues 2 to 5 of Mortal Realms, and then fully intend to buy half a dozen of issue 1 from anywhere possible (issue 1 is more expensive on Forbidden Planet). Hoping Tesco stock them again. Does say they can cancel if not available. Issue 5 is the exclusive figure so probably not much chance of getting that.
  7. Left the lid slightly ajar on my Black Templar, and it's turned into a rather nice blue... Really not what I want, but still.
  8. Interested to see what we get - the Rhinos turned out a cracking deal as almost the entire model came in the first issue with only accessories in the second. If there's a way to get a cheap Repulsor out of this it would be great... Waiting for payday and then I'm going to order several magnavents...
  9. TITH I officially filled an entire Ikea Billy bookcase with codices. Until I get a bigger place, they're not really in the order I'd like them, just what would fit best. Shelf 1: 1st to 5th editions; Apocalypse 4th sits above them SPOT THE ODD ONE OUT ^^ Shelf 2: 6th and 7th edition codices Shelf 3: 6th and 7th edition rulebooks, campaigns and special editions Shelf 4: 6th and 7th ed overspills, dust-covered specials like Clan Raukaan, WFB books, AoS books, and misc GW books Shelf 5: 8th edition, Imperial Armour, and some White Dwarfs (there are many more WDs on the floor...) 8th ed has the least because I refuse to pay more than a tenner including postage for them.
  10. Realistic poses are what I'm looking for. Could be the most basic model ever with no extra detailing, just needs the model's eyes lined up with the gun, and some assymetry.
  11. Went into my overdraft because it turns out eBay take a while to take payment. D'oh. But I did buy 2nd ed Imperial Guard and Angels of Death, hardback Leviathan, nine books (mostly WFB including Champions of Chaos and AoS grand order Chaos), 6th Imperial Knights, Planetary Onslaught, 40k Rogue Trader for a tenner, and limited edition Codex Eldar (7th? I think) for a fiver. Most interested in Rogue Trader of course. Completionism and all that.
  12. Someone is selling most of 3rd to 7th edition codices and rulebooks on eBay... Currently going for £10 with 1 day left... ...but where's the fun in that? Tempted. Very tempted. TITH I contemplated existence.
  13. So I tried to assemble some Orlocks. The shoulder pads are non negotiable unfortunately, which will make them at odds with the girls, which I didn't really wanna do. But I'm getting big Firefly vibes off them, which is good. Tried modeling one with an Ork power tool but in gonna say it's... "Comically oversized". Huge. Might look alright. The dude looks like he's struggling anyway. Other than that there are generally some nice poses in the set. Done some more painting but it's just dry brushes and washes at the minute, which I'm trying to avoid overusing... Had some luck with contrast paints over metal, which is looking rusty and orky. The techies are gonna be really anal about their tools so I'm keeping them all shiny, which will help to pick out different aspects on what otherwise is just a scrapheap.
  14. Do you reckon any of AoS conquest will be applicable to 40k in any way? Not really paid attention to the AoS models.
