Kurgan the Lurker
POSTING and HOSTING IMAGES at the B&C There are several ways to post images here at the B&C:Links Links are simple, just put the link http://www.yourlinkhere.com which will show as: http://www.yourlinkhere.com Images Tags Image Tags will show the entire image on the page. Please try and keep your images to under 800pixels wide. While there is an autoresizer it doesn't change the file size, it simply creates a 60% thumbnail. So again, no 2meg, 2400x1600 pics please. To put the tags on you just do the following:[img=http://www.yourpictureurl.com] Which will display like so:http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/BnC101Images/gallery/gal5.jpgKeep in mind that if your image host does not allow hotlinking then your image won't work! Hosting Images Hosting sites are available in variety of ways. http://www.pbase.com/http://flickr.com/http://imageshack.us/http://photobucket.com/and many others.Obviously if you have your own website you can host your own images as well. However we also offer hosting space here at the B&C. Please note that per forum rules any pictures hosted here must be power armor related. Please see the Gallery set up Tutorialp for using the gallery to host your power armor images.Images must be .jpg, .gif or .png files.*Edit: Here are some of the new functions of the B&C Gallery that you can make use of for displaying your pictures*Now when you load a picture into your gallery for any pictures you had loaded previously you will see a series of options to the right of the image that help with picture posting:These options server different purposes. If you click Avatar it will resize the image to 80x80 and put it in your Avatar location. Please note that the image within your gallery will not change. If you click options you will get a menu to either edit, delete or report the image. The next set of options is to help with your posting. For sites like the B&C which use BBCode to post images in a thread you can use the BBCode option:[URL=http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?autocom=gallery&req=si&img=18648][IMG=http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/1216745700/gallery_36_2440_47809.jpg][/URL] Please note that you will want to remove this part of the code unless you want folks to click the image and go to your gallery page to rank/view your gallery image. [URL=http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?autocom=gallery&req=si&img=18648] and the [/URL] portion If you are using the image for your own website or a forum that allows HTML for image posting then you would use the HTML option: <a href='http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?autocom=gallery&req=si&img=18648'><img src='http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/1216745700/gallery_36_2440_47809.jpg' alt='a2' /></a> As with the BBCode you can remove the a href portions if you just want the image and not a link back to your gallery. If you just want to link to the file you would use the image link option: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/1216745700/gallery_36_2440_47809.jpg The page link option takes you to the image and its page within your gallery: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?autocom=gallery&req=si&img=18648 PICTURE LIMITS Depending on the forum you are posting in, you are limited to 12 or 20 pictures per post. If you have more pictures than that you should make links as necessary.
