Mainly bacause I was a fantasy player that liked to look at Spacemarine porn and that was all. Anyway, I always loved the cursed founding and the lamenters most of all. This is the humble vomitation of my brain and painting table manifested in plastic so let me know what you think. Serioulsy. If you hate it, please feel free to say so BUT you must leave suggestions for improvement. So, the first thing for you to oggle is this chap: Captain Arkanis of the Lamenters Third Battle Company (almost done) There is more to come... Maybe even some story type stuff for the camp fire.... If your trying to post pics which i think you are all you have to do on photobucket is Copy/Paste the IMG tag when you click onto the picture. It has the benefit of more permanancy, so if you run out of space of reach a bandwidth limit on your photobucket, then it will still show up in your post. I'll also echo the comments above; this site has space for images for every user and, internet gods willing, will stay free and present forever. critique More work on cleaning up mold lines pre-paint. ~My least favorite job. Thinner paint, even if it requires more coats. ~The metals you used are giving the model's surfaces too much texture in my opinion. Some parts look a little 'gluggy'. Washes for recess shading to add contrasting that infers shape. ~model painting is more like applying make-up than painting a car. The face could do with a dilute mud/brown wash. My only gripe would be that to me the mace looks a little big and out of proportion compared to the rest of the model, the handle seems too long, but that might just be the perspective from the first photo screwing things a little bit. I think the camera has shown up more than I thought it would, generally I was quite pleased with the paint, though I would agree with you on the gloopy metal. I suppose that's what I get for using an ancient pot of boltgun metal....and drybrushing too. @Brother Yorei. It was a concoius choice to stick the chapter symbol on the right shoulder. Actually it might be because I couldn't fit the shoulder pads on the other way round but I'm happy with it. Besides, I prefer the old scheme, you'll see that in more stuff as I post it. @Chaplain Admetus. I love the fact that the mace is too big, that's heroic scale for you. It is meant to be sort of a two handed mace, at least that's how I see it being used. I always thought it looked cool and just wanted to use it on something. I did originally have 5 sang guard with the maces but they got sacrificed to fill gaps in units. That and I have a problem with fielding them with Lammies. Anywho, lots more citric delight for you to peruse. I think once I run out of stuff I have painted I will post the WIPs. Vanguard Vets. Terminators Again, these guys are mostly done, I always seem to do 99% and then move onto the next thing darn it! Other angles and individual photos available on request. I'm just too darn hungover after the rugby yesterday to take anymore right now, and I could barely hold the camera still enough for it to focus!!!! Still, we beat the French!!! So here is the last of the stuff that I have mostly painted, not all of them have their backpacks. Sorry about the photos, should really work on taking better ones soon. Typically they are 'almost' done but I always find something else more exciting to do; like this bad boy: This is my take on a stormraven, though it ended up being a tad big, though not quite a bit as a thunderhawk. I just hated the stormraven model so much I didn't even want to buy it and kit bash it. So far this has cost me £10, half of which made a prototype. No photos of that as I tested how strong it was by throwing it into a wall, several times. It did quite well at first. Oh and it cost my bro his hurricane bolters but he doesn't know about it yet...... Mental note, use more PVA or something stronger. There's plenty more WIP stuff in my gallery, though I think I will create a thread in WIP for that lot and post finished stuff and story line/history when I write it. Hopefully it will all keep me going so I can finish it all for once. As an aside point, I have NEVER EVER finished an army so fingers crossed. If you want the SR to be a bit stronger, instead of foam core use just good old fashion card board in multiple layers with PVA glue slathered in between each layer. Final layer was basically a paper mache of soaked printer paper. A buddy of mine did some rhinos like that and you could toss em off the roof without hurting them. Takes more time during construction, but you do not have to worry about properly sealing it to do a spray primer like the foam core will. Just an option since you mentioned strength testing. I was planning on building one out of 3mm plasticard but the foamcore is suprisingly rigid, though the plasticard is in the corner of my room I just don't fancy cutting it with stanley knife as I know it's gonna take an age. I still have to do templates for armour plates and weapon mounting points but once those are done, cut and glued I can seal the whole thing. Debauchery101 Posted March 2, 2011 Share Posted March 2, 2011 looking real good bro real good. i love that termi with the 2 fists. if i could give one piece of painting advice it would be to maybe run a light wash of ogryn flesh or devlan mud over your models to get into the creases and around the rivets/studs on your marines armor jsut to make those contours and lines pop out a bit more oops just seen that those Pa marines were in "almsot done" status how much foam board do you need to make that thunderhawk and could you steer me in the direction of the STC pattern needed to build my own ? They were a pain to cut, you can see the broken blades in the photo. @ ShotgunFacelift. I wasn't much of a baser before but it does add a lot to the model for not that much effort. I got all the materials online for peanuts. Just search for 'moddeling materials' and you get tons of results. @ Debauchery 101. Yeah, everything is almost done. I've been thinking of washing for a few days. Annoyingly the photos show there to be a lot less contrast in colour and depth to how they look in real life. The thunderhawk is more of a stormhawk really. It's not big enough to be one. I actually drew the templates in visio using photos from forgeworld and IA 2 I think, the one with the 'shuttle' hawk in it. At the moment I can only print off the drawings as I haven't spent the £500 on visio for home. I used 1 A1 sheet of foamboard and three evenings to cut and glue it. Spent many hours on the drawings though, when I have more time I can finish detailing templates and cockpit before painting. At the mo I can't get the files from the office pc, working for paranoid defence company can be a drag, so can't dish them out yet. Though the ultrasonic cleaning bath is great for stripping metal minis! Once finished them all I'll see what I can do about doing better than walking out the office with a whopping great bit of printed foamboard. My only critisicm about your force is the yellow armour could really do with a highlight (at least i cannot really see one, it may be the light if so i apologise) and it would benefit your army greatly. Take your yellow colour and add either bleached bone, skull white or fortress grey (personally i have been using fortress a lot recently for my highlights) Quick question where did you get Captain Arkanis' head from?
