The Hunt Begins...

"The Winter War Hound is brash and boastful. He seems to be destine to bring doom to the Maw of Winter. I have pledged to keep this vision from coming to fruition. If I have to make war on him to accomplish this quest I will end him."

Quote from War Seer Warbringer after the Battle of the Red Waters

Winter War Hound, White Wolf, First Company Master, Chief Isi Angrywolf

Chief Angrywolf is an infamous member of the Hunt. He is prideful and careless when dealing with his peers. He frequently boasts that he is destined to become Hound Master. Despite his insulting manner most of his fellow Chiefs ignore him. He has challenged his Clan Chief once and was beaten soundly. His confidence in his destiny is misplaced as firstly, he lacks the dominance required to lead the Hunt and secondly, most Seers feel he should have been forced to become a Red Hand, as they feel he will one day cause the total destruction of the Clan of Winter.

He has led the White Wolves for over 100 years. His ascendance was as controversial as he is infamous. He challenged the previous Winter War Hound after an unsuccessful assault on a Chaos Astarte stronghold. During the duel the previous First Company Master succumb to the Curse just before Chief Angrywolf was defeated. Isi was able to dispatch his cursed superior by snapping his neck from behind. Chief Angrywolf was proclaimed the winner of the duel and earned entry into the Red Hand society.

The Winter War Hound has earned honor for the Hunt. His greatest achievement to date is a decisive strike against a congealing “WAARGH” two systems away from Eametanene. During this campaign he defeated War Boss ‘Eadunter in single combat and claimed the ork’s topknot for his lifemarker. His victory was not without complications, as he had defied his Clan Chief and abandoned the defense of Eametanene to prosecute the destruction of the greenskins.

In his 215 years as a Hound, he has accomplished much. He bears three Terror bird feathers, obtained on three separate expeditions into the Eametanene wilderness. He has the honor to display the Great Father’s Blessing on his backpack. His personal heraldry is checked cross behind an open wolf maw. As Chief of the First, he wears the Mask of the White Wolf, a powerful artifact of the Hunt. His company embarks on the strike cruiser, Stormwolf.

First Pack of the Maw of Winter, Bodyguard to the Winter Hound.

Clansman Ironwolf is staunchly loyal to the Hunt. He is next to become an Honored Red Hand. He has earned the respect of the entire Clan. He is a superior warrior and would have become a Clan Chief by now if not inducted into the Red Hand society.

He has led the Ironwolf pack for almost 150 years. He served the previous Winter War Hound and ruefully wishes the old Chief had not succumbed to the Curse. He considers the death of his previous charge at the hands of his current charge the only blemish to his honor in over 300 years.

Clansman Ironwolf has been disappointed by the demeanor and antics of Chief Angrywolf. He impatiently awaits the removal of the Company master. He hopes he will be the one to purge the Chief, knows he will probably not get the chance.

War Seer of the Maw of Winter

War Seer Warbringer is devout to a fault and places his complete faith in the Great Father. He is a beacon of light for the White Wolves and has saved several of his brothers from the Curse. He is known for leading packs into battle. He drives the packs into a frenzy just short of falling to the Curse.

Seer Warbringer has been a war seer for 75 years. He was raised from Ironwolf pack and was trained by Clansman Ironwolf. He is very dominant and surprisingly serene. His dominance would have made him a Chief in time if he had not been inducted into the Red Hand society. He has trouble tolerating Chief Angrywolf, but he keeps their disagreements hidden from the rest of the Company.

In his 125 years as a Hound, Seer Warbringer has brought honor to himself and the Hunt. In his first 50 years, he lost half of his face purging traitor Astartes of the Black Legion. He bears a fanged skull on his right shoulder pad which was a gift from the Blood Angels Chapter early in the Hunt’s history.

In his 285 years as a Hound and spirit seer, he has fought off the Curse on several occasions. He strides into battle with his Medicine Staff and lays waste to the foes of the Hunt. As an older Hound he bears an ancient relic from the Founding of the Hounds, the ‘Annuals of the Hunters’.

Spirit Seer Middlebear

Spirit Seer Middlebear is a Hound of untapped potential. He has great talent in the Medicine of Earth and is a member of the fourth society of spirit. He is learning the skills of a spirit seer. He has exhibited great levels of power on occasion.

Seer Middlebear has been the student of Elder Seer Char for about 10 years. He has an untapped level of aptitude, but struggles with his control. He was taken into the Medicine society as a Preychaser. He has struggled with the rituals he needs to learn to master his capacity.

In his 55 years as a Hound, he has yet to face the Curse and this is the biggest concern of his mentor. Seer Middlebear is quick to let his blood boil and allows his enemies taunts to break his focus. This inability to block out others is why he is unable to rise higher than he has and why he cannot achieve the next level of mastery.

Clansman Redaxe is a strong leader, but is compelled to seek glory too often. He earned the right to bear a War axe three decades after he became a Clansman.

He has led the Wolves of the Axe for 100 years and has brought glory and honor to the Hunt. Despite his minor conflicts with the Chief. He is relied on to take the most complicated objective and to fight the toughest foes.

He has secured his place in the songs of the Hunt several times over and is likely to make many more. He is an honored warrior, but is an infamous example to the packs of Preychasers who watch his deeds with envy.
