White Scars, Blood Angels and Dark Angels are all in the next book. They will have legion rules but no characters or legion specific units.

Book 6 will cover shattered legions and will focus on players creating own narratives for small scale engagements.

Future book will be Thramas and Signis Prime (mirroring the old Blood Angels/Dark Angels codex)

Prospero may not even be book 7. They need to ensure that they can produce the entire range quickly and efficiently and not keep people waiting. To create all the models needed for Prospero would take about a year.

Book 6 will be shattered legions plus basci legiones asartes rules for DA, BA and WS.

Having some issues with rules balance on shattered legions front.

Prospero pretty much sorted, waiting for models to be done.

End of year for book 6.

No prospero till next year

Will get a horus heresy era marine red book.

Then a seige of terra/scouring/protochaos redbook.

Those are both far off though.

Legions can change their spots (ala word bearers). Some specific ones mentioned were fists and alphas.

Some juicy alpha stuff hinted at being in the pipeline. (Mr blighs words were yes they will change/split but i cant tell you any more).

Space wolves will be very different from 40k wolves when they arrive. Bligh is expecting :censored: to hit the fan.

Will post more soon

I just want to know when I can expect to see those upgrade kits so I know how much time I have to set aside enough for an order of nothing but those. I can hold off on getting our rules until they release the next update of the red books.

A couple of extra tidbits:

The designer of the Blood Angels upgrades had three more examples of completed miniatures which he showed me, though I was only able to get a decent photo (which is to say non-blurry) of one of them. They've got some nice subtle filigrees and details:

There are nine unique heads along with the five unique torsos. As the IX are my favourite Legion, I am absolutely stoked. They should be out around September.

Hell hath no fury like me buying those upgrade kits!

Hopefully they'll focus on older Armour Marks (I mean obviously but...) as we have so much bling already for 7 and a bit for 6!

Particularly in lovewith the blood teardrop and not much other details. Looks sufficiently symbolic of our duality - would fit a captain nicely :D

Regarding the Mastodon - and it doesn't sound like it will be 40k so I can't fill it with Death Company

I spoke to Blake Spence about the Mastadon first thing (it was the first thing in the display room), and that is a fantastic kit. Rules are still being worked on, and the model on show was a first Production run to which they need to fine tune the molds. In terms of transport capacity it is alleged to hold between 30 and 40, and is designed to cut through and blow through walls to deliver shock troops - it's like a Karybdiss, but as a tank. It was originally thought up with front tracks based on the Sicarian and the rear as a Land Raider. Front doors have Frag Assault launchers, and are operated on moving Pistons - this thing could a pain to put together. It has Void Shields (2x bubble things on the top in the middle) and has a rear turret that can fit razorback size armaments. I'm recalling loving it, and can see this being a purchase. Timeframes are unclear, but there's still a month or two of work left on it.

I wonder if we'll get our own special Terminators as is the trend...

Any theories/ rumours or speculation on such regarding the books etc?

I know we have the SG as that sort of role though, so its unlikely I suppose.

If we do hopefully it won't be a cop-out like the Ultras. They are literally the Iron Warrior ones but better because Guilliman said so...

I think we'll end up working pretty much the same as most other legions.

we'll get unique terminators and a focus will be on heavy tanks.

I was chatting with some of the FW guys during a game a while back and the general view was that flyer or assault marine based lists just didn't work in 30k and wouldn't without 'rewriting a lot of the rules'. So... unless we start seeing some stuff like in the 40k worlds more recent releases, with 1st turn flyers and 1st turn deep strikes... i imagine we'll be as samey as the rest.

Aye, assault Marines are specialists, but I don't see them being the forefront of us in 30k at all. We'll probably have some veteran ones though with hand flamer/ inferno pistol access.

Maybe they'll sort out our Glaives Encarmine to be decent weapons :P

I'm just really hoping for the Sky Chariots :D

I hope the DC are different, or don't they exist yet? As no dead Sanguinius?

we're likely to have furious charge as standard... just based on it being what we have in 40k and it being one of the two options for building a legion without rules in current heresy rules.

DC don't exist as a formal structured unit, but some marines do succumb to the red thirst (which was depicted in fear to tread as having similar traits - shrugging off wounds that ought to kill, heightened speed and strength for example). So i'd guess at a rule that has a small chance for a few models to effectively become DC. The idea of the army getting rage if sanguinius dies would make sense.

In terms of assault marines not being something we're built around, i agree it wont be the only thing. but the whole army dropping in is the only depiction we have of mass blood angels fighting in the heresy so far (was actually pre-heresy tbf but still).

sky chariots would be nice, but they wont be unique to us if they exist, as the artwork has seen thousand sons and i think emperors children at least have them.

Expectations (probably around book 8 i guess):

Sanguinius

Azkhelleon

Amit (i'd prefer to see raldoran, but ive no doubt we'll see amit)

Sanguinary Guard

either proto death company or some kind of veteran unit, perhaps in terminator armour, though i actually am not sure we will see that

Baal predator/Lucifer pattern engines - the fluff for the baal says it was found pre-heresy. so the engines may or may not already be getting used elsewhere.

in happy land, i'd like to see some kind of alternative pattern stormbird/thunderhawk/storm eagle. (i.e. a non standard transport)

army rules, i imagine will be furious charge and perhaps something like the +1 Init rule we have in 40k, or maybe they'll go for something playing up a different trait (sacrifice - perhaps characters look out sir 1 better than everyone else, as line troops are more inclined to save their officers?)

unique weapons: glaive encarmine - MAYBE. But its somewhat redundant and not particularly good.

*Snipped to avoid Giant Quote Blocks*

Don't think it'll be Furious Charge. Why? Because you can already choose that Special Rule (or Stubborn) if you want to play a Legion Force that doesn't yet have Existing Rules.

While I don't necessarily see the BA being a Flyer Heavy Army, I do see their RoW Being an Uber Version of Angels Wrath.

As for Actual Legion Rules? No idea, tbh. As for them Getting a Legion Specific Terminator Unit, I doubt it. They'll already have Sanguinary Guard as a certainty and they will have a 2+ Armor Save maybe even an Invulnerable and probably have access to any Legion Specific Wargear. Having Terminators around would essentially be two units +/- filling the same role when the Generic Legion Terminators are good enough as is.

That and how would you exemplify one of the 30k BA Traits with a Terminator Unit? Because, so far, every legion specific unit exemplifies one of their stand-out Traits.
