"And on our seven hundreth year, while the Emperor rested and Chaos threatened

to devourer his realm,we stole back faith from the jaws of Deamons, and have

been running the show ever since." - The First War of Fidelis.

Welcome Brothers, to the return of the Eagle Spire, home of my Eagles Eternal. Since my move a year ago, a lot has happened. most of which served to stop me from getting any work done. Between deployment, modeling issues, insain work hours, I wasnt really able to get back into painting. But I noticed something, I had the time, and I had the time, I just didnt have the will to commit to what I had on my table. So, with a brand new seat cushin, I made some time to sit down and just do it. Now I have finaly put the last pieces together to finish a project and show something compleeted. So this year, as part of my new year commitment, im going to be trying something new with my pictures. I hope you guys enjoy, and any feedback you guys can give me will be appreciated. Enjoy!

Thank you brothers. I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you all, I just noticed I forgot to mention that my wife gave birth on the first. It's one more thing to eat away at my time (he's sleeping on my chest as I type, part of his diabolicly cute plan to stop me from getting to my desk).

Argent, I'll try to find a link later, but somewhere on these fourms there is a guide I followed to do the lightning claw. It was original used for powerswords, but it works for any power weapon really.

I'll get back to the models, and post the other finished squads so that they can all be shared in the same thread. Until then, Semper Fi!

*****

Brother-Corporal Hail continued to moniter the screen, everything remained as it had been briefed. The dim green light of the chamber provided just enough illumination to make out his surrounding Battle-Brothers. Even covered by their armor they appeared bored by the situation; as if eager for excitement. He knew it wasnt boredom that he saw in the lenses of their helms. they were meditating, prepairing themselves for the task to come.

The light flicked off and was replaced by a slightly brighter red light. Hail returned his attention to the screen, multiple targets appeared. There was nothing the Marines could do about the incomming fire now, but it didnt matter. Seconds after they had been fired upon, the ships landing thrusters kicked in and slowed the descent; not enough to stop it from hammering into the ground, but enough to keep its valuable cargo alive.

More targets appeared on the screen as Hail was jostled in his harness from the impact. These were not incomming fire though, they were ground forces... Enemies. In response, the storm bolter in the center of the chamber swivled around. Already aiming in on the nearest target, it was aimed just over Hails head. Within his Eagle patern helm, the Space Marine grined as the doors to the drop pod fired open...

It took me many sessions spread out over many months, but I finaly managed to get the last drop pod fully painted to compleet my 1,000 point list. Fitting as the new codex is at our doorsteps, and I will likely need a compleetly differnt approach to things. Am I right?

Im not sure what I will work on next, but I have gone though my "boxes" of kits available. I have a set of Assault Marines that have been built and ready to be painted for years, two homes ago to be exact. In the unoppened section, I have....

one Dreadnaught

one Venerable Dreadnaught

one Iron Clad Dreadnaught

one Assault Terminator squad

one Predator

one Vendicator

one Land Raider(reedemer/cursaider)

two Assault Squads(five man/old)

two Devistators (old)

three Land Speeders

four Rhinos

five Tactical Squads (three differnt eras)

eight Drop Pods

Along with several other things that i have opened, such as a Command Squad and other bits to make what have you; I have a Baneblade, something to make that Baneblade even more awesome, an Imperial Knight (old kit) and some bits and pieces to make a nasty looking Leigon of the Damned squad.

what I do next.... im not sure, but this is not the end.

Looks great brother

I do hope you are refering to the drop pod. As the note "recon don't open this spoiler" is directed at you. That's your secret santa mini.

There's something I've always found satisfyingly visceral in a Space Marine reverse-gripping a combat knife.  Great stuff!

Thanks, I hope to at least reuse this pose one more time.

**** Chapter one ****

He had known her for years, since they were little children in the orphanarium; yet somehow Alexis always managed to surrprise him with outlandish and absurd storys. As poor children of the street, the two had been unseperable. Both had dreamed of finding fame and fortune amongst the stars, and setting off on some ship thatthey would one day call their own. But life has a way of keeping you stuck in place. While James had grown out of those dreams and joined the Planetary Defence Force, Alexis still searched for rumored treasure like the rogue trader tales they had grown up on. Her endevures often saw them at this very bar, sitting at this very table, asking him for favors.

James set his garrison cap on the table and picked up the awaiting drink as he took his seat.

"A toast" Alexis offered, "to your graduation of officers course".

"What do you need this time" he asked impatiently.

"Nothing". Her reply was smug and factly.

"Youve got a terrable poker face Alexis, youve already given away your signature tell".

"I do not have a tell"

"You ordered the grog before I arrived. You always do that when your trying to butter me up."

"Well this time is different. There is nothing i need from you."

"Oh really? Then I guess today really is a day for celebration."

Alexis finished her drink and slammed the glass to the table before leaning towards him, grabbing the table with both hands. "I need you to follow me".

Here we go he thought. "And where am I following you to?"

She looked over both shoulders before whispering, "the outlands"

"The outlands?" The outlands had been host to a great battle centuries ago. Mighty armor devisions had fought a massive foe for days on end, and when the conflict was over, they left their ruined machines where they had fallen and left. "Theres nothing good out there anymore. Theres nothing bad out there anymore either!. The only thing out there are tall tales, metal scraps and boobytraps. I really wish youd grow out of this fantisy and do something real with your life."

"This times different" she protested.

"Where have I heard that before? Ah yes, aproxamatly 20 seconds ago, when you said you didnt need anything from me. So what are you going out there for this time? A hidden amunitions caches? Some long lost orbital defence laser? Or perhaps an old hermit told you where he burried his treasure."  He paused for a second and noticed the tinyest hint of a tear forming in the corner of her eye. Damnit he thought, now look what ive done. "Im sorry Alexis, I didnt mean that."

Alexis leaned back in her chair and crossed her legs as a large grin overtook her face. "Oh you should be sorry James, because were not hunting something..." He could tell she was ammused by the dumbfound look on his face.

"I've already found something...."

Thank you! I made one last alteration to the build, so here's the last picture before I get started on the painting (tomorrow.... Maybe)

Hope you like it, I already feel like it's going to be a problem when it comes time to painting, but it matches my current stack of medals should you split it into two rows (which you would not). Maybe I should put my ribbons on the otherside? I guess if I really wanted to get that realistic with it I would need to put stars on some of them then... Shrug.

Once again, enjoy.

  • 2 years later...

When the Great Rift cut its dark path across the imperium, many companies of the Eagles Eternal had been deployed in relatively close proximity (when compared to the size of space itself). One company however had the misfortune of being directly in the path of the tear in reality. Half of the Fifth company were lost immediately, their ship destroyed in warp travel. The survivors were cut off on the various worlds they had been sent to, their fates forever unknown, it can only be assumed they eventually fell in service to the Emperor.

For any chapter such a blow is devastating, and for the Eagles it was no different. At first it was thought that the company would be permanently retired, never again to see he glory of combat; a fitting homage to those who fell. But it would seem that fate, or perhaps the Emperor, had a different plan in mind. When the Chapter rallied to the crusade of Gulliman, who else was there to greet them other than a company of Primaris Marines drabbed in battle worn Blues, and sporting the same Eagle resting on the world of man. Legend has it the commanding officer took one look and said "I thought we were late to the party, turns out we've been here the whole time".

Can anyone tell me how to make that post as a picture as opposed to a link?

On imgur, if you mouse over the image, click "get share links", and then use the "BBCode (Forums)" one.

It should have img url inside it /img, inside brackets, like so:

fIcyLg6.jpg

Note: I have no idea how to do that from mobile
