I really like what you have done for the defilers.

Thankls - I really enjoy doing Defilers, for some reason; I suspect it may be because, given the nature of the thing, you can just go bat:cuss crazy and still have it work :D

Still (job-hunting is taking up more time than I'd like) working on the Rhinos; here's how they looked at an early stage, I very much did them as 'quick and dirty' builds just to get some ready for a game a year or two back, and I've never really been happy with them.

So, just to give you an idea of where my head's at with them now, here's the Possessed Rhino that's always been the ride for my lead Plague Marine squad, Squad Pestis; in the first pic you can see it had some bodies chained to the front, and I started think, 'why would a Possessed vehicle attach trophies to its own front?'...dissatisfaction grew, so I'm totally reworking the front of it, and this time-lapse compilation shows you how I'm changing it:

...a lot more Possessed-y now, IMHO. I'm also adding small segments of jaws etc on the other Rhinos, spurred on by the 'gator-jaw' top hatch on the rescued Rhino; more pics as soon as I have him done...

And here's the Possessed Rhino's mouth, finished and with a suitably ghastly glistening-red interior to the oral cavity smile.png

A gribbly tongue would have been a cool addition to the gaping gob

I did wonder about adding one, but this mouth was taking its look more from angler fish than anything else and they don't have visible tongues, also I'd already put a tongue on the Mortis Helbrute and didn't wnat to repeat a conversion feature so soon; also, I've always thought tongues can often look somewhat comedic on tracked vehicles, and 'horrible' is more what I'm aiming for :)

Angler fish you say? How about adding the "lure" that they use?

Nurgling with fishing rod? Nurglings are allowed to be comical, nod nod.

If we're going down that road, then...

Nurgling with a fishing rod dangling a nurgling?

The mouth looks great! Can't wait to see the other rhino done!

I'm actually doing all 4 at once smile.png I think, looking at them, the biggest problem (apart from the overly white and half-finished paint job) is that I just hadn't done enough to them - because they'd originally been made in quite a rush - so a bunch more conversion stuff is being done to them all to bring up to what I consider a properly-converted/customised level for my Rhinos.

'I can do better' is something that drives me a lot, whether it's modelling, guitar playing, or writing (I have a lengthy bit of fiction written involving these guys and a nefarious plot they hatch) so when I see something I've done previously and I know it's just not up to scratch, I pretty much have to re-do it otherwise it drives me mad (which is probably my autism poking my brain).

I can relate to this. If I've been working on something, and it's finished, but I feel it could be a bit better... that something is a little off, like when a bit that works in theory doesn't work at all in practice. This drives me nuts.

Argh..sorry for the long delay in updating. I had a big depression crash at the start of September which took a couple of weeks to climb back up from, several months of being unemployed not helping. Still, I start a new job (nothing exciting, but at least it's money coming in again) on Monday and have been working on something I've not done before - my first Daemon Prince of Nurgle, inspired in no small part by Thousand Eyes' 'Dreadtober' modelling-challenge thingy on his 'Stepping Between Games' blog.

Here's where he is at the moment; most GS work is now done, I just need to let what's on there cure before adding the last bits to the face and right arm. The 'herpa-derp' face on the original GW DPoN was the first thing to go (seriously, that thing's just :cussing terrible) so I used the big Spawn horn and sculpted a new 'face' around it; the left arm is a Mutilator arm with scratchbuilt upper-arm section to get it to the correct proportions for a Daemon Prince, and the right arm is the plastic DP arm with a cut-down Soul Grinder sword blade replacing the rather Tzeentchian original.

Really looking forwards to painting this guy :)

As always, all feedback etc is welcomed.

Ooo gribbly.... Very inspired by beastie at the end of Conan, look on the head. Not the remake, it's either Conan the barbarian, or destroyer where the horned statue comes alive and does that whole possessed monster face....thing...

But damn is that a sweet bit of sculpting...well done that man...

P.s. depression isn't a good thing, at any time...in a job or out of one..it's a stinker. But congratulations on getting a job where there's so few out there. :tu:
