Brother Ambroz
Hey y'all, starting a traitor guard force here are some (low quality) WIP shots. Still trying to come up with a color scheme, thinking possibly grey and blue. Any color ideas would be greatly appreciated, though I'd like to stick with colors I'm familiar with like grey, blue and red Edited August 19, 2019 by Brother Ambroz Marshal Rohr, Exilyth, firestorm40k and 3 others 6 Back to top
Pearson73
I really like the cloaked heads, it gives them a more irregular, guerrilla look. The feeds to the weapons have a nice appearance too.
Aarik
Those look really cool! The cloaks, hoods, rebreather heads, and the gun cables do a lot to give them a unique silhouette and sinister vibe.
Kraad Belak
Too many traitor guard units you see nowdays are still "too regimented" for my tastes, with their perfect gear just covered in spikes. This group looks real ragged, almost like they're specialists in infiltration ans assassination. I love it!
Brother Ambroz
Thanks guys, hopefully be moving onto painting in a few days so I’ll have some progress shots then. Kraad Belak 1 Back to top
Brother Ambroz
Started a test model today, just a couple more highlights to go and the base but almost done. Should I go whitish grey or brown for the base? Kraad Belak and Tallarn Commander 2 Back to top
Brother Ambroz
Anyone have any ideas for colors that would complement the scheme? Trying to figure out what to paint tentacles and mutations, what about a dark green or would a dark purplish color be strange?
Brother Ambroz
Still busy painting the first squad, should hopefully be done by the end of the week. In the meantime have another recycled squad of AM that I'll be adding cloaks, hoods and mutations to. Also, wanted to try to get some opinions on something, I'd love to try to use the blood warriors from AOS as traitor stormtroopers but can't find any lasguns/hellguns that wouild fit. So I'm trying to convert a bolter into a hellgun. Would really appreciate some C&C on this one, does it work or does it still look too much like a bolter? Lhorke The First
I like it! Maybe add a scope of some kind to alter the profile a bit?
Jukkiz
You might need to make bolter abit slimmer and not so big and boxy to make it more lasergun like. Scions sprue has extra holstered las/hellguns, weirdly. For reference. Edited March 19, 2019 by Jukkiz
Brother Ambroz
Thanks guys! I'll try making a scope and checking on the scion bits, still haven't purchased that kit yet. Squad 1 is done for now. Trying to convey a Lovecraftian/Bloodborne vibe, which will continue as this army expands. A ton of the fluff that I've come up with takes huge inspiration from Bloodborne which will hopefully become apparent later on. I want these guys to seem like underneath the hoods/cloaks that there might be something more horrifying underneath as well as being naturally creepy and menacing. Anyway enough rambling, here are a few photos. Also took a solo shot of my favorites, the first guy just oozes menace which I love. The second is the Champion Sorghul "The Faceless". Can always take more later if anyone is interested, just a little short on time due to work tonight but wanted to get these up before going in! Tallarn Commander
Looks great. I especially like the 2 models with a bit of purple on them (temtacle arm trooper and teeth head dude). They really come to life!
Brother Ambroz
Thanks guys and yeah I love the purple parts too. So teeny update, working on the champion/sergeant for next squad and really excited so far, still WIP but loving this guy.

Brother Ambroz
Hey y'all, think it's about time for an update. I have not been idle. No more paint but have been hard at work, think around 20 infantry converted and an HQ all ready for paint. Just waiting on the contrast paints to come in, hopefully they'll work well with the cloaks and whatnot, continuing a lovecraftian theme. Have also been working on my first Russ for these guys, have been really trying to expand and learn different sculpting and green stuff techniques so any comments or criticisms are welcome. The russ is still WIP but there isn't too much more to go. I'm also in the process of building a lightbox but for now poor quality pictures Group shot. Can see the Russ in its early stage in the back. Onto the individuals. Really tried to have differing sizes as well to show these guys come from all over. This next guy I had intended to be a Primaris psyker. When I started building him I had no idea what I'd use as a head. I wound up going to see the new hellboy with my wife, got a few ideas together and this guy was born. Really love the way he turned out. Last is the possessed Russ coined Charybdis. I've been working soley on it for awhile now and its nearing completion. I still have to do a bit more with the turrets and possibly adding some tubes or tentacles to the sides. I'm also not sure yet whether I like the eyes on the turret as is, debating on whether to add more tentacles or horns or something to that area. Any advice or suggestions would be amazing. Bjorn Firewalker
Impressive work, especially on the Possessed Leman Russ. I hope to see the tank painted soon.
Brother Ambroz
Thanks man, hopefully I can get it painted much quicker than its taken to convert it up
The Gentle Axeman
I'm really enjoying your concept and execution so far. I have a large soft spot for the horror of anything lovecraftian. If you're still after some input on the colors, I'd be looking for a way to get some dirty gold into each model, it'll pop with the blue and could be darkened down with brown so it wasn't too shiny. Brother Ambroz
Thank you and it’s good to see another lovecraft fan! I’m trying to incorporate more as I improve and create more units. I’d love to incorporate gold I’d thought it originally but thought it’d be too close to my night lords. I could actually go back and do the capes blue and change the shoulder pads and any trim to dirty gold. Any ideas for the tank? Specially the turret. DarkVen
This reminds me of the old school stuff back from the 3ed and beyond. Really nice. As for the tank, I'd go with the current version. It looks good enough and any additional details would make it look overdone, if you catch my meaning.
Brother Ambroz
Thanks man, always love your input. Other than finishing up the turrets, we’ll keep the tank as is! Do you have any ideas suggestions on paint?

Brother Ambroz
Hey guys, little update here. Starting working on another Russ but my reason for posting today is different. I mentioned before how a good portion of this army will be inspired heavily from the game bloodborne, well I've been working on a test mini who is inspired by these enemies (scroll down for a gallery) in the game. Pretty satisfied with how he turned out, will be painting him so that it looks pretty furry. As always, C&C very welcome! Let me know what you think.
