I was thinking Overlord too as it's curiously the only thing mentioned in fluff that doesn't have a model yet. I'm also surprised nobody was yelling plastic Thunderhawk yet. I guess the meme finally died. biggrin.png

my insanely unlikely whishlist/hope: that the new super heavy is that "smaller then a Warhound" Scout Titan(what was the aledged name? saber, cutlass? it was some sort of sword IIRC...) that was teased/rumored so long ago for AT will get its debut in 40K just like the Nemesis Warmonger did.

but on the topic of Titans; is there any hope that we'll get rules for them and/or other Forge World models in the Apocalypse core rules? after all, it is a new gameplay system, and even if there might be some kind of "conversion" system to turn standard datasheets from the normal Codices to the Apoc system, Titans have long been over-nerfed in 40K, and I think we can all agree that a new system is optimum time to test out a fix for that.

The First thing i said when i saw the video the First Time on the phone was: "i am not interested in a game i don't have the time to play"
The second time i saw that on larger PC screenshot was: unit trays and tokens? "It doesn't look like a sized up 40k, it seems more a sized up Killteam"

IMHO the mechanics of this game could be more linked to Killteam than to regular 40k with single turn with alternate activations and token usage

If this will be the game i am interested cause having the possibility to play my over 10k points of DA (and 5k points of IW and 2k points of GK and 2K points of DW and so on) in the same time i would play a regular 2k point regular 40k game is a good thing (i have all the scenics needed for a 6*8 gaming table i just lack a second 6*4 table :P )

I stay tuned for more info
GW you have my attention

Excited about the potential here. I love playing apocalypse games, though I'm not sure that my group has ever actually had time to finish one.

Didn't some rules from the 1st apocalypse get ported back into the next edition of main 40k? 5 or 6th ed.
GW has already experimented with different turn sequences in KT, between that and this new apocalypse you have to wonder if they are using these as a test bed for more radical changes to future versions of 40k.

Probably just wishlisting on my part but moving to more alternate actions and using D10 or D12 for BS and WS tests as a minimum would really open up 40k.

Alternate activations would certainly change the game, haven't played killteam,YET, but having read the rules I like the concept.

I do find it hilarious that some people were saying the size of newer marine stuff looks great next to regular humans like Cadians, and then GW upsized the humans so they are the same height as marines again

The overlord is Stormbird sized isn't it?

From the novel, no. It's BIGGER than the Stormbird.

We're looking at something the size of the Forge World T'au Manta.

Yes, without something to focus the turns, it's very hard to complete a game. The answer is timed turns. Our more successful longer games used  the 15 minutes to  move/15 minutes to shoot/15 minutes assault framework.

The initial response to something like that is, <wailing and gnashing of teeth> That's not enough time to do everything!

The answer is always, "You're right. Choose carefully."

Getting back on topic, I think the  movement  trays are fine, but those have existed before or people brought their own. What has really piqued my interest is the tokens.

Back in Epic Armageddon (EA) days, the game system had "orders" dice that you used assign to units and if that is what the new  tokens are all about, we could be heading into something really good. I still believe that Epic Armageddon was the best "command and control" game system I've ever seen and played.

It would make me smile quite a bit if that crafty wizard Jervis is realizing his dream of migrating EA to 40K.

It would revolutionize 40K.

The old Battlefleet Gothic used, and more importantly the new Adeptus Titanicus uses, order dice. So it’s certainly within the realms of possibility.

Can someone explain order dice?

Your opinion is important, and someone posting here probably does care what you think. You should go tell them. Remember that it really hurts to come up with an idea you care about and have no one else care. Go care about something and tell them what you think. Now. Think of what it would have meant to you when you were young.

They aren’t rolled (at least not the vast majority of the time) - they are just a convenient way to basically have six order markers combined into one physical object. Issue an order to a unit, set the die to the corresponding icon next to the model or on the command terminal.

are Primarchs LOWs? I mean I suppose it would depend on the Primarch in question, though I thought the current rumor was that we weren't getting another loyalist until each Chaos God got their Chapion Primarch?

regardless, I wonder exatly how far that "New LoW for each faction" goes in terms of the Imperium's subfactions; all the Space Marines will probably have to share just one big bad (Primarus?) tank/flier, AdMech will hopefully get something(though what they really need is their FW stuff ported over), Guard... a new Banebade variant, or maybe some sort of (moble?)fortification? what I'm most interested in is if Knights will get any expanding, sense even Armigers are LoW I wouldn't mind seeing a new variant of them introduced, with the wishlist dream being Carastus being reworked into Plastic.

Chaos is pretty straight forward: new Daemon(greater daemon of chaos undivided? do those even exist?), or a massive daemon engine, sense then it's one kit for the entire range to use. though if Apocalypse was going to give us a Primarch, I predict Angron.

Xenos…

I want to say Orks should get supersized "Beast" Gaz, but I think we might just get a rework of the Stompa or some similar vehicle.

Tau would get an anti-Titan glass cannon type of Battle Suit or something along those lines.

'Nids get some new Bio-(not-quite-a)Titan, GSCs don't get to take any of the Guard's Superheavies as they are, so I doubt they'd get anything... doesn't really fit their style anyway, in these kinds of battles they'd be more about overwhelming numbers then bringing the heavy hitters, that's what the 'Nids are for.

Eldar… new flier? I don't think they'd step on FW's toes by making anymore Eldar pseudo-Titans.

Dark Eldar… like the GSCs, a super heavy doesn't really fit their style, hell, Apocolypse scale battles don't even fit them at all... but I could see them having some sort of supersized version of their little hoverboat raiding craft; some sort of transport for carrying off all the newly captured slaves, acting more as a massive moral debuff to enemy forces then as a direct weapon, maybe with special rules to turn itself into an objective worth victory points in order to give the DE player some kind of controlling edge over their opponent?

Necrons, well just about anything is possible for some sort of big bad mega construct, or a new type of monolith.

GSCs don't get to take any of the Guard's Superheavies as they are, so I doubt they'd get anything...

As written in the Genestealer Cult Codex, they can take any Astra Militarum Detachment as "Brood Brothers". The only restriction is that they can't take Specialist Detachments (so, they couldn't take an Emperor's Conclave detachment from Vigilus Defiant as Brood Brothers).

Maximum of 1 such detachment per Genestealer Cult detachment though.

If the new low are attached to apocalypse.

I assume the low war rumor won't be characters, instead vehicles, medium to large things.

I'd rather have medium sized low things.

I would be pleasantly surprised if it's more than two large models. I think a rapier titan is actually a good bet, although a warhound would break bank balances everywhere and be usable by both imperial and chaos factions.

Gw seem to like these releases that drive sales of the back catalogue but don't need much additional investment
