I have heard a few rumours that there maybe a reprint for next month. I have also seen one seller with it marked as "awaiting reprint" and another seemingly taking names for a wait list.

Can anyone validate these rumours?

Without knowing anything, I would say no. When Carrion Empire and the holiday boxes sold out within minutes, I wrote to GW and asked. They told me directly “no”. I think the best course of action is to write to GW, but I’m thinking we are out of luck.

To my knowledge they've never reprinted a battle box.

We've seen indom and I think the sisters box(?) That's literally it though...

They've never reprinted a Battlebox in the past so I highly doubt it.

The Outpost here in the UK had this note in their new releases email:

PLEASE NOTE: Piety and Pain is likely to sell out VERY quickly. We are limiting to 1 per account/household. Additional stock will be issued in the future so please register for restock alerts if sold out.

Probably limited run with option to extend based on them unsure on how it'll sell based on blood pf the Phoenix. Silly GW changing multiple variables at once. Hopefully it'll be reprinted.

Doubt this will go to made to go order like Indomitus but given timeline they couldve scheduled the (initial) production run pre/early covid and then realised a couple of months into covid we could sell more than we thought but unlike other previous boxes had the time to schedule a second run

I don't think there's any reason to think there will be a reprint until GW says so.

The Outpost is hardly a retailer I'd be trusting on a limited run box anyway, given that they were caught out selling their limited availability stock at a markup under a different name on eBay.

That's very interesting. I didn't know they did this. I'll be removing them from my 'preferred supplier' list now, so thanks.

I'd agree that it would be unwise to trust them on a restock for Piety and Pain.

Is there anywhere I can read up on this?

I've used them a fair amount and never had any issues with them.

I don't have a link to an article or anything, it was shared in a Facebook group. The eBay shop "TopWarhammer" had the same address and Company Registration as The Outpost and had all kinds of stuff listed at massive markups (Death Guard Series 3 box listed at £94.99 for example). Checked it out myself and saw they had things like the various Necromunda and Bloodbowl dice sets marked as out of stock on TheOutpost, but listed on TopWarhammer for as much as double RRP. They've since deleted the eBay shop but I won't ever order from them on the basis of that.

They wouldnt reprint a box like this normally, but its possible the whole print run couldnt be released due to shipping madness, if they still have a container of boxes or pamphlets or something stuck somewhere and they just released what they had in a first wave for example. I know they are working on changing this but the minis are the only things they make in house usually.

This has got to be a violation of GW rules to sellers.

I'm pretty sure GW knows exactly why blood of the Phoenix didn't sell. There is a pretty dramatic price different between these and they didn't include ancient kits like the falcon & Vyper. I think it has more to do with their production issues in general. That said they really should consider having a made to order window for these releases to take some of the pressure off.

With regards to pricing, GW lets retailers set their own prices (in the UK at least), so they're not in violation there. It's just a scummy move to abuse your access to product as an official stockist like that.

.

A few years ago they released an announcement that said retailers couldn’t make discounts more than 15% (maybe it was 20). Violators would eventually lose their status as a GW retailer. But I don’t recall it outlining anything about upping the price 🤔

I think this is a USA thing, there are several major UK-based retailers that offer discounts as high as 25% and have done for many years.

From memory, the amount of discount you were allowed to give was dependent on whether you had a web only operation or a brick and mortar store with game space and the overheads attached. They wanted to curb web only back-room companies offering their products at huge discounts which was killing off small game stores.

I'm not saying you're wrong (I honestly don't know), but I wouldn't take the details listed on the e-Bay shop as 100% "gospel" - there's been occasions when I've bought things, and the return address wasn't anything like that listed on the seller's shop (e.g. listed as a residential address in London on the listing, return address on the parcel is a residential address somewhere in Lincolnshire). With other industries, it's not been uncommon for bad actors to use others' details (e.g. I remember one parking company using Barclays' company & VAT registration number...).  Obviously, if it is true, then it's very, very, very poor behaviour.

Minimum advertised pricing requirements are forbidden in the UK & EU.

Yea it's NA that tends to get hammered by the discount cap. I'm pretty between the heft discount and the made up exchange being so arbitrary that it was way, way cheaper years ago to buy direct from British 3rd party retailers. Which is why their trade agreement was changed to no allow them to sell to locations outside of Britain and the EU.

There were times FW was cheaper then GW proper because the bank did the exchange rate for you.

I heard that was part of the reason 30k was popular in Australia.
