Doesn't seem like anyone has intentions of posting this one, and I can probably guess why, but I'm here to convince you otherwise, at the risk of creating hopes that can, and might, be utterly destroyed. But I digress, so let's get to it.

SimziYrauuODjDMZ.jpg

And its respective WarCom post.

Now, as I said I can guess why this one wasn't posted, and what a lot of you are probably thinking: "This looks like AoS".

But does it?

Allow me to present my counterargument. His name is Khârn.

99120102060_KharntheBetrayer01.jpg

Look at the weights at the end of his chains, now back at the Rumour Engine, now back to Khârn, now back at the Rumour Engine. The Rumour Engine is now diamonds a World Eaters Retiarius wielding a weighted net. Say that three times fast.

At the very least it's so similar in design that it might even be the same bit pulled from their CAD files, and anyone that knows me knows I have a tendency to go on and on about GW's use of design language to establish a coherent look across their different ranges. Option B to keep it 40k is that it belongs to the Beast Snaggas, but again, the fact that they're practically identical is making all of my alarms go off.

So again, at the risk of creating hopes that might be dashed later on, I must ask: Is this it? Are we finally seeing a sign of the next Traitor Legion rear its spiky, bunny-eared head over the horizon?

If you have any compelling arguments against it, then please, destroy my dreams now so that they won't grow larger.

I didn’t believe you at first, my first instinct was AoS. But I can see it now

You've made an interesting point. I hope for the sake of the frothing lunatics on the board you are right. tongue.png

I like where your going (please please please...chaos gods answer our young mans wish laugh.png )

but i think if it were 40k Chaos then that net would be made of chain... not some orc's n goblin home made netting sweat.gif

I will say that the weight's do give weight to your argument though tongue.png

I knew I'd seen those shapes somewhere before, good catch.

That said, a massive net still seems a weird thing to be on a 40k model so I'm still inclined to think it's AoS.

The only net in 40k I can currently think of is on Drukhari Wyches. The rope does make it seem less credible as a 40k release but I am not certain either way.

Some impressive thought has gone into the construction of that net.

The same weights are also on the chains on Be’lakor for what it’s worth. Chaos seems a good bet, if not actually World Eaters.

It's a surprisingly convincing pitch. My only qualm is that I'd not have expected a 40k-era rete to be made out of chains or something similarly grimdark, not look like a World Eater made it during arts and crafts hour. Maybe used by a cultist unit of some kind? But totally agree it's Chaos. Great catch!

I'm with you on this. If its not AoS, then the new orks.

Just putting the weights aside, who else would even use nets? Made from rope? Tied into knots? I just dont see anyone bit feral orks or kroot doing that...

The same weights are also on the chains on Be’lakor for what it’s worth.

So they do. In that case Slaves to Darkness are also on the list of very likely possibilities.
