Well that's a nice surprise. A new series focusing on the Heresy range. Hopefully an indication of more support to come!

Now to hope they'll release it quicker than the WB Praetors:

That is a really nice model! He'll look great leading a horde of Space Marines.

Ooh, that's a lovely model.

I must admit, in my mind, he was more "twisted" but actually this representation is probably better.

I love how it looks like he's almost hanging into his icon like some baroque burdener's cross. Really intriguing model for a fascinating character (with very nice shout outs in the article to Horus Rising and Slaves to Darkness too).

Cinema itself is a trick of time — still pictures passed through a focused beam of light at 24 frames per second. We are reminded of that in La Jetée...

It's about damn time! That's a fantastic model for Maloghurst. I hope this means we'll be seeing even more old characters without models soon.

Great news that they're doing a series of reveals, I wonder if they'll be aiming to fill gaps in the line, or introduce new things too? Big fan of the model, it's got some really cool details and merges 30k and csm aesthetics.

The say regular. But once every 6 months is still regular, so I wouldn’t get my hopes up just yet.

He's leaning pretty heavily on the banner pole - which is about par for the course with how he's described in the novels.

There's a lot of detail packed into the model.

  • The gold-dipped skulls.
  • Mirror coins!
  • Gang runes on the knee.
  • Knee forms the Eye of Horus.

It's also nice to see the old leather gloves making a comeback too - and of course, that backpack gives me some weird, RT-esque vibes.

That's not bad I have to admit.  If a new DG character comes out with a torso section as nice as this, I would be very happy.

Really adore this model, lovely surprise from Forgeworld.

Maybe you could model TWC-sized "were-templars" who's inner Templar took over in the fury of battle transforming them into a giant half man - half templar?

Things that make him look like a DG character:

  1. The oversized vents and hoses on his torso.
  2. The vents on the backback looks like it "mutated" and have a second grown like a plant offshoot.
  3. The tattered raggy apron with holes.

The rope that is tied around the bolter makes it look like a raggedy ork shoota hold together by the rope.

Apart from that it looks ok, It's not as good as FW Khârn, Eidolon or Dynat, but ok, it's in line with the more static GW "a-foot-on-a-rock" style of pose on almost all of the new space marine characters. Also the paintjob is in line with the new GW shiny, cartoonish style and not the battleworn "realistic" style with dust, pitting, chipping á la FW 3-4 years ago.

AHHHHHHH! As the world's #1 SoH fan, this day shall go down in history. About damn time!

SO HAPPY

I don't like the pose as much as Mark Bedford's original design sketch for the character, but it's still really nice. Yesssssss

Man if the scale of the models was more on par with  40k marines I would jump back into 30k in a heartbeat.  Absolutely lovely model.

Seriously nice model that. The 30k boat sailed a long long time ago for me but it's always nice to see it get expanded.

Heresy good news? Well blow me down and call me stan! And it's not a bad model either. Not keen on the paintwork but that's to be expected with modern GW

Ok, so after a comment from the state of heresy thread, could this model be plastic?

The comment above about the paintjob isn't a good indication, but is a curious one, it's definitely not an original style when it comes to all that brass and gold looking so clean.

For me, my main curiosities include:  Chunkiess overall like a typical plastic mould which can be seen in the arms/hands, torso section, torso pipes and neck armour (a distinct lack of thin flakey sections).  The cutouts on the undersides of the shoulderpads - mentioned in the other thread.  The clean lines and uniformity of the sculpt (no bolter hand issues and check out that banner).  Speaking of which, I would not buy this if it's resin due to the banner connection around the hand - two very thin support structures if resin would easily snap or bend.

Either way, I am pleased for the model and SoH fans, I'd be happy to see this in plastic and I can't wait to see more early legion characters if they turn out like this.
