At one point I thought these boys were conversions. The bare back and arms we can see remind me a lot of the AoS savage orcs. If the bottom of their torsos were trimmed and rounded to fit Ork legs or Nobs legs. What I am not sure of is if Nobs or boys hands would or rather Savage Orc arms would line up enough to hold shootas.
Granted I am sure those savage Orcs were cad sculpts so I am sure they could reuse those sculpts.
I'd love for this to be a new unit like Biggun's.
On the topic of the current sculpts.
The Bikes, trukks, Dreads, Kans, Nobs, Battle wagon, lootas/burnaboys, are all actually a new kit The boys were retooled at the same time.
Heck, if these nu-boys are actually Kommandos with a new loadout options, that would be amazing.
Maybe both Kommandos and Tankbustas are an up graded data sheet could be very good. I mention Kommandos because currently they cannot take Shootas but they used to be able to. From  a data sheet perspective, given their pop up out of nowhere abilities it almost works to not take shootas but if they were to change to being set up on the table during deployment then shootas work a bit better as an option.

Hope we see an Ork article today.

Either we see a reaction from GW today, or Monday with the next "'Ere we go" article. I mean, they had to know the Boyz are visible on the back of Gaunt's box, so they gotta be ready to show their hand and reveal them shortly, right?

...r- right?

Not at all. I've held the stance from orks being announced I never wanted new boys. There are two camps and consequently some will be happy, some won't. I don't see how that's any different to marine players who like both primaris and old, purely old or purely primaris. It's hobbyist choice and discussion which is kinda why we're all here isn't it?

I know I don't have to buy new boys - still using RT and 2nd stuff - but I think my concerns for range changes are legitimate. Especially having constructed blissbarb archers and seekers - never before have I seen hands in so many parts. What they can do with sprue and model arrangements now boggles the mind but change isn't always progressive.

Huh?
Q:  Is there room for hope in the grim dark future of Warhammer 40,000?
A:  I do hope not because then it won't be the 40k universe anymore.

I hope it's a new kit. Ork boys haven't had a new kit in how long?

Edit: I might be in the minority perhaps, but I've never like the orks a ton and a lot of it has to do with the old models.

Huh?

They’re saying that because some people aren’t happy with the idea of a new Boyz kit for various reasons (lack of customisability in newer GW kits, price increase, impact on interchangeability between different kits, etc) it means that Xenos players aren’t happy with anything they get.

It’s a ridiculous comment, basically.

Everyone is going to have lots of stuff at some point. I’m guessing Eldar/Aeldari will have a massive release all at once. The price hikes suck, as everything in life is going up, but new models are great. Thraka was awesome and new boyz are exciting. The old ones are still fine to use if you want to. I do hope orks get a Grotsnik model at some point that reflects the old art. Ork named characters would be most welcomed.

Ok then, it's my eyes wacko.png  ....sweat.gif

I bet though when they redo guard they will push them up to 28.5 mm bases like the new sisters and incubi models...

Mithril

Archao-flagellants were on 25mm and new, Repentia were on 28.5 while regular power armoured sisters are on 32mm.

So there was no phasing out of 25mm for human infantry.

It does, but then how much of the blurb is just copy/pasted from the old box? Might be incorrect. I think until somebody has them in hand to confirm it's hard to be sure either way.

It looks relatively simple to paint too.

Gw models are getting a lot more ornate than they used to be due to advances in technology. They look amazing when painted well. But not many people can give them the paint job they deserve. Simpler models help the rest of us, particularly kids learning to paint. I think that's a good move, especially on foot slogger models.

I'd say this new kit should be interchangeable with old ones. Nice new heads on old bodies should look great.

Now that's a step up from the old models! I'll certainly have to mix some of these into my army at some point.
