[LPC 2012] My GotC Progress

Yellow Stripe

Recommended Posts

Alrighty, so I have started my progress for the LPC 2012. My aim is to complete a 10 man Tac Squad including a Sergeant, also a Razorback, Standard Bearer and Company Champion by the end of March. I will be posting updates for these on here, as well as in my GotC thread (link below).

First up is my Company Standard Bearer. I am aiming to complete at least one model per week and will upload pics as soon as each one is done. Feedback and criticism is always appreciated.

Also, below is the link for my complete army so far. Feel free to look through, and let me know what you think.

The second I read that you were taking the vow my heart leapt, and already you've exceeded my high expectations. What a beautiful model man the shading and highlighting is just effin' sweet and the banner is nothing short of immense.

Alright, here's the latest update. Actually made some pretty good progress over the past week or so and managed to push out another 3 models towards the LPC 2012. I am currently waiting for a shipment in the mail for the remaining units for the challenge, so it may be a little longer before my next update.

First up, Veteran Sergeant Mael of the 2nd Tactical Squad.

Next, here is the 3rd Company Champion.

Lastly, Heavy Weapon Specialist for the 1st Tactical Squad.

I find it interesting that you mounted the sergeant, banner bearer, and champion on larger bases. Any particular reason?

As for the painting, looking great, as always. A force of these guys on the table would be stunning, I'm sure.

Yeah, I was a little unsure on this myself at first. Basically because I am really just doing this for the modelling aspect, and not the table top, I figured I would give the more important members of the army (command squad members, sergeants, etc.) the larger bases, giving them slight hight advantage, and also, I guess a little set piece each to make them look more important than the average marine.

I do realise in a game that this would be a disadvantage, but as I am still unsure of if I will ever play an actual game with these guys (no gaming groups nearby, without going for a 3 hour drive to the nearest Games Workshop stockist) , I should put more effort into the making them look better, over performance.

They look great, particularly the banner on the banner bearer. One minor point - I could be wrong, but I thought I saw mould lines on the barrel of the sergeant's plasma pistol. Otherwise, a very nice looking unit indeed!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi guys, just another update for my LPC progress. Haven't achieved a great deal over the past week or so (only just received my torso's a couple days ago), and just thought id post an update. This is my first time painting multiple units at once, and as I'm planning to complete 8 marines, I thought I'd give the production line a go. Just polished one of these guys off this morning and have just polished off some bases and shoulder pads. Most of my time consuming parts on these guys are done now and am plan on churning these guys out by the end of next week.
