Segmentum Obscurus

From: Company Master Balthasar, Dark Angels 5th Company

To: Brother-Captain Quirk, Dark Angels 5th Company

Subject: Articifer Training.

+++ Transmission begins +++

Hail Brother-Captain,

As per your requests you have been granted training with the company Articifers during your time at The Rock. This is a great honour for you Captain.

Chapter Master Azrael has seen fit to gift us with Squad Barachial, Terminators from the 1st and Attack Squadron Arion, Ravenwing bikers from Sammaels company. They will be most useful in our upcoming campaign against the heretics of the Crimson Slaughter. However, they are in need of refit and repair after their last battle. This is a perfect opportunity for you Brother. Go to the Armourium and train with our brethren.

I trust you will uphold the glory of the 5th in the eyes of the Lion.

Balthasar out.

+++ Transmission ends +++

"Repent! For tomorrow you die!"

Hail brothers.

I promised a WIP thread once I had started on my DV set and so here it is. After being completely inspired by some of the awesome WIP threads and PtR paint jobs that are being posted lately I've decided to tread the Path of Redemption. I will make my first vow on the first day of November. I'd like to make one now, but realistically there is no way I could complete it in October. Instead I will try to complete a series of vow's in November to make up for it.

In the meantime, here are some WIP shots of Tactical Squad Raphael. I have to thank furioso-prime for his 'super secret Dark Angels wash' which I have been using, except I have been using a dropper to mix a small amount, rather than mixing two pots together. I've also got a bunch of new paints including Caliban Green, so that is now the base I am using rather than darkened Waagh! Flesh.

You can find my first thread and some practice models here.

Yeah I will, but I am really freakin' scared to do it lol. My shakes make highlighting by far the hardest part. I thought I will probably paint all the models first and then highlight the whole lot at once.

I was planning on stripping my practice models, repainting them with the current scheme and then practising highlights on them first.

If you have a shakey hand try using a very, very light drybrushing to give the highlighting.

It can be a bit more forgiving (and a damn sight faster too :lol: )
