Update

 

With today & tomorrow off, I've been trying to get a few new models for my Iron Warriors built.  I've been spending today getting the second Maulerfiend built, along with the Possessed Iron Warriors.  Then tomorrow getting green stuff added to the first Maulerfiend I got a few weeks ago & on the Possessed.

The start of my Iron Warriors Possessed.  I've still to add green stuff to both models.  Right now I'm wanting the theme of the unit to be those who have the Obliterator virus, but before been all out Oblit's.  Just Iron Warriors hate mutation in the background & often replace it with bionics.

 

I wanted to get these two models just to get a rough idea how I'm wanting the rest of the unit to look.  So I've still got a lot parts to arrive from Servitors to Iron Hands upgrade pack.  Also looking that Ebolahand (memeber who use to post on the forum) Iron Warriors where he converted up a really cool bionic heavy theme unit.

So as said I'm going to spend tomorrow getting green stuff added & going to aim get them painted during the week.

I spent yesterday that a local tournament by DWARF gaming club.  Was really great, had three great games.  Chaos seem to be the main faction taken that the event, with Eldar shown really small showing vs other events.

Was really suprise to see my Siege Knight going into a bezerk phase against Orks in my last game.  I had no idea what happen, he just went on to take out

- Warboss

- 2x Forge World monster, causing 14 wounds on the main one that has 10.  Sorry not quite sure there name.

- Unit of Lootas

 

I'm really happy with my Iron Warriors picking up runner up for army side.  Eliot won with his really, really great Slannesh Chaos force which I shown in my Winter War 2015 update in Novemeber last year & new photos can be seen below.  I think he join to the forum & looking to start up a army log & talk to them about Call of Chaos.

 

The gaming club done a lot cool template.  In the past they've also gotten really cool object marker.

When my Siege Knight chose to take on all these Ork monster.  It only when I was on the train home I remember my Knight get bonce thanks to the Forge World rule for his chainsword.

Again it was a really great day.  Lot of really cool armies & I'm looking forward to DWARF Winter War event in a few month time held for charity.

 

I've also just complete my third ETL vow, Daemonkin Lord.  I've had the single spure model for the past two years & though be cool to just get him built & theme as second in command of my new Daemonkin force I've been painting - currently the Daemon side with the Bloodletter updated.

Quick update

 

So pretty much spent today hidding away while heat wave was happing.  As said a few time, I can not tolerate the heat as this cause me to get headache &/or nose bleeds.  So today pretty much been spent hiding & making sure all the fan's & air con where on the go in the house & spend bit time get hobby done.

 

Current adding a unit of Possessed.  Because Iron Warriors hate mutation, though go with bionic & sort of mid-stage Obliterators.  Taken on somthing that was written in The Siege of Castellax novel.  Last time I've use Possessed was with my Black Legion back in 3rd ed as I just really like the art work.

 

I'm going to start painting the Possessed model tomorrow & aim to get the rest of the squad built by the weekend.  I'm just waiting on a few mail order & bitz order from bitz box, let the dice decided & egghead miniature to arrive.

You always pay a lot of attention to your bases, I commend this! I wish I did, mine a e usually just sand, rocks and a little bit of battlefield debris. Oh and skullz :D

I've got two weeks to go until my Iron Warriors battle it out once more in Nottingham.

 

Right now I've been gather the parts for my Warpsmith who will led the unit of Possessed as part of my unbound list.  I've shown this image before.

I've been thinking of trying get the Techmarine from the art work converted up.  Just unsure if I want to use the Raven Guard Captain head from Forge World or the Iron Skull icon helmet from the Heresy IW upgrade pack?  Beyound that most of the parts are there.  I just got the really cool daemonic looking axe from the Wrathmonger Age of Sigmar models from one of my friends today.  So if I can get all the part together, aim to spend Friday doing that.

There Rhino transport I built a few hour ago.  Just need to get the armour plated added.  As said I'm useing Christian Bryne Vindicator show a few post ago to get sort of diffrent look to help show that this has been over taken by the mid-stage Obliterators (Possessed) so it a bit more tainted & daemonic like.

Maulerfiend - This one is inspired by Vlâdvar The Destroyer, Maulerfiend conversion he'd done for his own Iron Warriors.  It just look cool & though be a nice way to tell diffrent between the two I'm taken with me to Nottingham.

I bought quite a few thing today to try get this lot all ready for painting.  Sadily terrain I wanted to use for the Maulerfiend base was out of stock that my local store, but it been mail order.  Just mean I'm going need to wait until next weekend before there base are painted.  But I'm going to push forward & get both Maulerfiend painted this week.

Going to try convert up a few more Possessed tomorrow as well.  I've got a few bitz on order, few FW Mechanicus that will go toward making the last few battle brother near the end of the week as well.

 

I'm aim to get the Rhino extra armour all built tomorrow & get detail work added ether tomorrow or during Monday lunch time?

 

Also my Iron Warriors are going to be taken part in +The Iron With out - Iron Warriors painting contest+ which is been ran by both Dosjetka & Lord Thørn

I​ use

Averland sunset, zamesi desert, yriel yellow, sepia wash, abaddon black tidy up the lines, flash gitz yellow highlight, the fang highlight black parts.

 

​Once that all done, stipple Abaddon Black (not to heavy) just help weather, then use foam & dap rune fang steel for chip effect.

 

You could use masking tape if your having problem getting straight line, few model store should have some thin enough,  I seem to rememeber Ben (Mechaniucs army in the White Dwarf) posted in the Horus Heresy building & painting group saying about type masking tape he'd use on his Siege shield unit.

Now how cool is this model?  I really can not wait to get Khârn, if anything I'm going to be leave really strong hints to lot people I know with my birthday soon.

 

Khârn been one of my favorite character (along side Cypher) when I first started the hobby & collect my Black Legion.  Somthing about the model was really cool & also all the art work for him.  Since then I've been reading few novels from the Heresy to Khârn Eater of World & a few audio.

 

Then when Forge World brought out there own version.  I got him when I was that Nottingham for Warhammer World Throne of Skulls March 2014.

Most of yesterday (5-8pm) & today (5-8pm) been spent getting as much work done painting the Maulerfiend as possible.  I've just got to highlight the gold & then that the sort of long part on the painting side done.

Then the Possessed Rhino.  I try some stuff out after reading White Dwarf 301 with Christian Bryne Vindicator model.  Super glue trick didn't turn out to well.  So I'm going to green stuff over them.  I;ve got a idea how I'm going painting it & again useing the White Dwarf article for idea to help try show this been bit more daemonic/Obliterator/warp so people know it carry the Possessed.

So right now I'm just trying aim get as much painting done for the Maulerfiend as possible.  I'm aim to get the Rhino undercaoted & armour stage done on Thursday, with aim get it full painted by Sunday & ready for Weather powder.  While last of the Possessed & Warpsmith will get built on Saturday.  My holidays are starting pretty soon so that help out get this models all painted & ready for deadline.

Your tips are very helpful, I did a whole bunch of hazard stripes last night, some that worked out better than others for sure. Hopefully will get pictures posted once I finish the trim on the models. So fed up with trim...

Also got the Rhino ready for painting during tomorrow.  Trophies will are going to be added, one my friends is bring a few bitz for this as they've just started a Vampire force for Age of Sigmar & going to see if they have any Marine part to theme on there White Scars force after gaming against them that my gaming club double event back in July.

Since Friday I was that Warhammer World in Nottingham.  This was for Throne of Skulls during the 3rd & 4th Sept.  Then spend my birthday 5th Sept in a 3000pt game vs my friend & his orks.  Just returned today around 2.30pm.

So it also nearly 20 year since I started the hobby.  The new White Dwarf show back issue - 202 that was my first issue & got me to collect Chaos.  While it was the 5th ed box art got me into the hobby.  Though I'd bring my Black legion lord that was my first conversion back in 1996 & let few friends & other people see him.

While Throne of Skulls it self was really great.  Ever single person seem to be enjoy all there games.  I know I had the five best games I've had in a while that a event. 

Everyone took models & armies they enjoy collecting & just wanted get games with them.  Each my five games where great, lot epic moment that will further add theme to my own Iron Warriors.  In fact two of the games have sort been added as a bit background toward the 3000pt game vs my friend Orks.

 

Mange to get Army nominee which I'm always happy with.  I also, as said got the Legend for my Siege Knight & Legend award for my Siege Breacher unit.  I was aim for the tank comp since March this year, after building the Knight.  While the squad comp caught me by surprise.  

 

Was also really cool - I was No8 for the event: Khorne favour.  Just with the release of the new Traitor hate book.  Also my very first game was No888 vs Salamander

Then - Not my one, but the art work Forge World had on display in store.  So they've got my copy all ready to get posted out to me.  That should be the end of this week.  Gutted the Lord of Iron version sold out.  If I knew I'd ask friends pick up the art work.

One of the best events I've been to & one of the best weekend I've ever had.  Also going to try get my facebook page set up near the end of the week or during next week.

Thanks Dantioch.  I'm really grateful for people votes/like toward the models during Throne of Skulls weekend.  It was really great seen a lot really cool models on display.  Once I've sorted out a few the photos on photobucket.  I will get some photos of my games posted on here & show some of the armies (with in the forum rule) posted here.  As there was a nice Knight army up for nominee with Steel legion, which where in Army of the Month a while back.

Well, there the Call of Chaos in a few days time - 15th Sept ;)  You could always get a kill team together.

Nottingham was pretty warm during the weekend.  But thankful Warhammer World has air con on the go.  Be honesty all painting was done when it was a bit cooler last week led up to travel to Nottingham.

 

I should have photos of the Maulerfiends, Possessed & Warpsmith all complete as well along side the gaming side from ToS.  So going aim Friday for them.  Just right now I'm still suffering a bit, leaving Nottingham that 7am to make my way home.
