Right - I recently got a ton of the new FW HH stuff :) so here goes my take on a Pride of the Legion Iron Hands force.

This is mainly to track my progress for two challenges 1] http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/281020-loyalty-treachery/ and 2] http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/279373-the-battle-for-humanity-legion-open/

So for both Capt. Semper and Jaspcat I present the initial (primed or unpainted) few men of my pledged forces :D

So there we go - one Contemptor, a Praetor, a Centurion/Legion Champion, one shot of 15 unpackaged Cataphractii and some special weapons :D

I'm painting today and will aim to get both good quality with a good speed :D

only a couple of small ones atm - giving the Champion (the PA praetor model) a combi-plas and going to have a boarding shield strapped to his back (I'll either GS a strap or use thin brass sheet for it), I might do a couple on the command squad termies, try some GSfu with emblems or numbers but I'm not much of a converter unfortunately sad.png

Pffftt not better just have developed a style that's easily recognised.

My only ideas are washes and weathering.

I personally try to do a realistic battle work look.

I'd consider AK interactives(iirc) oil stain paint it's great for grease and oil

This was my first go at using washes haha - I'm going to go over the bits of armour that aren't greaves and have silver as they're battle damage, just need to layer other silvers into them to get depth and work out a plan for the deeper grease (atm I've only got 1 wash - black) and intend on picking up a weathering powder set and more washes to experiment :) for now I'm happy but more work/experience is needed haha

Thanks for the pointers - it helps a LOT to have another eye on the work :)
