Sorry for the late reply guys, I've been away for a couple of days enjoying this beautiful summer - borderline heresy when there's ETL painting to be done! :lol:

 

@tvih & Nikolai: Looking forward to seeing what you guys have been working on. It's always a treat seeing newly painted sisters. B)

 

Alright it's time for my third and final vow:

 

I Sith'ari rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete a squad of 5 Sisters (Melta & Heavy Flamer), 1 Immolator, 1 Exorcist (Extra Storm Bolter) and Saint Celestine from Codex: Adepta Sororitas of a total value of 405pts on or before August 1st, 2015. Success will bring eternal glory to the Order of the Gilded Pyre and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the years end.

Managed to basecoat the Seraphims and Battle Sister squad, not the HQs yet though. But also did the whites on Seraphims. Gah, how I hate white paints (doesn't help that the Ceramite White is a putty and not a fluid paint nowadays). At any rate I'll do my best to finish them in the next 5 days if possible. Or at least the non-HQs, at any rate.

There is a need for more vows though :P Had I gotten started when I was supposed to, I would've painted my entire Sisters army by now!

There's always penitent vows... you can paint your army up after the ETL too :P

Finished most of my Celestian unit, struggling with the rhino though, it is my first vehicle I have had to paint in my colour scheme so I want to get it right.

ETL IV - TENTH WEEKLY UPDATE

I'm still in this fight.

My completed Canonness:

My real camera stopped working for whatever reason, so I'm relying on an older iphone.

I made a conscious decision not to outline the trim around the boob-plates.

This is my first attempt at an OML paint scheme on a Sister, so I think it could be better. I need practice at this scheme, for certain.

Four Dominions with meltaguns are in the beginning of the "rough-in" phase, and I'm still fiddling with their Superior (switching out a chainsword to a power sword), and the turret of the Immolator steal needs to be finished. I know that's like the largest part of my vow still left, but I'm positive that it will go fast (now that I'm actually working on it again... )

Excellent work! I love how her cloak came out, the layering of colours is very effective. Not picking out the trim gives her a dark appearance that is quite different but works well :) Keep up the work, let's see all vows coming in before the end of the month! :tu:

Not picking out the details does a lot to de-emphasis the dagger-boobs and make her look more serious/mass effecty and less OTT/40k.

A couple of you mention the red, so I'll say what I did:

 

Prime with Krylon flat black

Undercoat with ceramite white

highlight high spots of cloak with further layer of ceramite white

layer of Mephiston red

wash of carroburg crimson

highlight high spots and edges of cloak with evil suns scarlet

 

nothing too fancy, but more than base+wash that I normally do

The last two will take a little longer because their stupid parts keep breaking off!

I've no idea what the stats are Kilo, Semper surely has even more work processing things after the downtime but I imagine we'll find out with a round up in a day or two. We should only be concerned with the work we're doing though, that's how victory can be won! :)
