I also shall throw my name into the ring. I gmarks do solemly swear upon pain of the bolt pistols of the commissariat, to paint fully, to the best of my ability, 1 leman russ battle tank with hull mounted lascannon, and one infantry platoon comprising of 3 infantry squads with flamers and vox casters,  two heavy weapons teams. one with three lascannons and one with three auto cannons, lead by a platoon command squad equipped with vox and las cannon, for a total of 575 points before august 1st. failure to do so  is unacceptable and will not happen. The emperor protects.

Macharius Vanquisher progress report. Have completed the base coats and glossed the mini in order to start washing it. After that, it's highlights, drybrushing and paint chipping, then the oil paints and weathering powders:

I've set myself the target of averaging one vehicle a week, hoping to save time on the smaller two tanks in order to get the larger pair cranked out!

I Ldorte rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete 2 Leman Russ Battle Tanks (150pts each), 1 Leman Russ Exterminator (150pts with heavy bolter side sponsons) and 1 Knight Errant (370pts) for a total value of 820pts on or before August 1st, 2015. Success will bring eternal glory to the Guard and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end.

I did not bank on the amount of detail on this mini. Every time I thought Id about done I found some more.

Anyway its done except for the base which is currently drying

I have two options for vow two

A Scion squad or Valkyrie

 

Im edging towards the Valkyrie as last year I vowed a stern guard squad and got lost in the detailing. 

 

I think the Scions will have the same issue..

I'd go with the Valkyrie. A five man squad of Scions will be easier to fit into a later vow than a vehicle. or, if that's too much, just three vows of one character each .

2nd evening of work on the hull. Weathering and trim complete. I still need to work on the rear shrine and add some highlights but it is mostly done. I am hoping to have it completed by this weekend.

A long night of painting, all those rivets can drive you to drink! This is closing on completion, just needs oil paints and weathering powders applied. A part of me was considering submitting it as finished in its current state, but that's not in the spirit of the ETL, I'll add the extra trimmings as I would normally.

Think I'll do the Eradicator next. Realised I forgot a Storm Bolter in the vow, so it's actually an extra 5pts. I'm also debating putting some Camo Netting on this tank like Forge World do in their Modelling Masterclass book. Would it be legal to add the points from doing that after the vow? I normally save camo netting to go over a paintjob, looks more natural that way.

It also appears that some super-Heavies are close to completion... Will this first week bring all those terrific vows to completion? I do not dare think what will come next.

We're already seeing such great work and we're not even a week in. This bodes very well indeed! Do you have an infinite supply of Macharius tanks Coffee? Not that I'm complaining since you paint them up so well Looks like my hopes of competing in the SH race are dwindling fast, especially as I've not even had despatch notification on my missing magnets I can accept this if you keep up the good work Wulfgar

Rich's work needs no explaining really, an excellent job on a hero of the Guard! Just what we like to see :) I will focus on my Ratlings later tonight to get their bases finished and perhaps I can find something to keep me occupied while I wait for my Shadowsword magnets...

As elmo said carry on comrades let us make sure all know the devotion of the Guard is second to none!
