[Luther - the fallen]

I, Luther - the fallen, answer the Call of Chaos and vow to complete 1 Helbrute, 6 Chosen and 10 Chaos Space Marines before December 15th 2015. If I do this successfully I will receive the Mark of Spilled Blood and continue on the path to ruin. If I fail I’ll wear the Mark of the Lost and I expect no mercy on my soul!

The first complete portion of my Vow is done! I started to get burnt out on painting Havocs (I still have about five more to go), and figured I better paint something I was looking forward to, lest I fall behind in progress. So here I present my repainted Sorcerer.

As I said I would, I avoided doing any extra conversion work on him. But I did decide to paint the robes black this time around. I think it looks much better against the red than the brown. Thinned paints and excessive drybrushing makes for a much better model. I also added a chaos star decal to the chest to make him look just slightly Librarianish.

now its just picking out the odd bit here and there to finish them off, no rush :)

All I have left now is finishing the Land Raider and 7 Khorne marines and starting the Helbrute and Rhino (or Vindicator if Semper lets me swap).

Even with bad camera and bad daylight, these pictures could've been sufficient had you not had the light coming from behind! Phone camera's generally are pretty ok if you have a less-than four year old camera phone. Just fiddle with the settings a bit, get the lighting right with an ok background (try these!) and you'll be fine! ;)

I was about to say, it's gone very quiet here... This is so unlike Chaos.

Tbh its been bugging me lol. Was up till 4am painting trim on everything and could have done with some updates to keep the mood flowing :'(

Also, could I swap the rhino in my vow for a vindicator? Its a 1st ed era rhino and I'm really not getting a good vibe with it.

Just realised I never got back to replying to this.... Sorry.... At this stage I am thinking just a ten man chaos marine squad. Huge dive I know but much of my last half a month was eaten by surgery recovery so didn't get the time I wanted or needed. Hope thats okay, if not I can always tack another failed siggy in somewhere...

No need for a failed sign (cool as it may be) - just make the amendment in your original vow and let me know so I can adjust the first page too! :)

Right, heres how to get pictures up:

1. Go to the B&C gallery and set up a gallery (or more) of your own
2. Upload the pics from your computer to your B&C gallery
3. Once uploaded, click on the image in the gallery and copy their image address. You can choose between thumb, small, medium, large. Usually medium will suffice.
4. Go to the post you want to make and use the "image" tool from the menu bar of the post editor screen (it's the blue-ish rectangle).
5. Paste the address in the field provided by the pop-up window and you're done!

Note that you can paste any image address in the "image" tool field (provided the file has the correct extension), so you can just copy/paste the image from imgur for example straight into the field provided by the "image" tool.

Try them out and PM me if you still face issues. :)

That leaves 5 Cultists, 2 Terminators, and a Helbrute left to be done. Currently working on finishing the Cultists unit as I've run out of magnets so Terminators are currently on hold. ;)

With the Slaangor I'm slogging through painting the 20 of them with various shades of brown here and there. Fur, leather, tusks, horns and the like. I'll be sure to limit myself to 10 at a time in future.

The dark apostle is moving along faster:

Hair will be pale green.

That weird patch on his (human-side) forehead is where there are service studs. Once they're painted it shouldn't look like a bullet hole in his noggin

Only a dark apostle of Slaanesh would have armour decorated with...

Sakura (cherry blossom). Not to everyone's taste perhaps, but I expect much of this army is not to the majority's taste!

Skulls, scrolls and a whole lot more still WIP.

The scroll-bearing cherub will have pale blue skin (it's a Necromundan caryatid).

Poooh to the haters, the Cherry Blossom is a great idea and works well... 

 

 

Work grinds to a halt again for my Word Bearers, ran out of Nuln Oil so my vehicles are half done until wed, but at least everything is all basecoated and is just waiting on the last black wash. Until then I still have my retro themed Khorne marked CSM's to finish, based on the old poses from 1st/2nd ed minis (love me a bit of retro) and they will be based on this scheme (yes I will try the panting the banner as well).
