And a close-up of the Blood Raven-now-Blood Angel shoulder pad for you Jolemai :)
As said earlier - it was enough to file the head off the raven. The tail is not that visible unless you know what to look for. I could probably mask it better, but it is enough for now.

I'm considering a second vow, more then likely a vehicle. I can knock those out pretty quick. The small bits on infantry, even Primaris, just get so tedious. Maybe a Stormhawk; I'll check out my literal mountain of plastic tonight.

Half of the vow complete... I was beginning to worry cause time passes!

At least the second half is a much smaller Whirlwind with no interior to paint, will kick its ass before the 1st of August!

ETL VI - WEEK 10 UPDATE

http://fortressofunforgiven.homestead.com/ETL_6_Poster_01_Announcement_V2.jpg

+++ETL VI - WEEK 10 UPDATE+++

Week 10 was not as productive as Week 9 but still delivered 14k pts worth of completions. Total completed points rose to 127k while total points pledged surpassed the 400k mark reaching 408k. That in turn implies an overall completion rate of 31%.

On a Faction level, we had two surprises: 1) the Adeptus Astartes moderate performance with a completion rate below 30% and total score of 12.6k and 2) the stellar performance of the AoD Faction that is now leading the ETL with a completion rate of 43.8% and a score of 13.3k! Chaos is still very strong with a score of almost 8k pts but with a lot of firepower still and the IFOR with a completion rate of just 23.2% (the lowest among the 5 Factions) and a score of 4.2k. Last is the Xenos but with a completion rate of 32.8% vs. and a score of 3.4k.

I will now further analyse Week 10 results:

BLOOD ANGELS:

The BAs continue to lead the Astartes Faction in terms of score, at 5.2k and have a significant distance from the second (the DAs) of 2.2k pts. Truth is that despite having the lowest average vow (which is not that low anyway) they have more than made up for it with the highest re-vowing rate of 50% and also have the highest completion rate of the Faction! Congratulations for the fighting spirit and methodical work – you’ve been productive and focused, even during the difficult month of June and early July. Keep it up and you stand a good chance of becoming Primus Inter Pares of the Astartes Faction and why not getting the top position all forums in the ETL (you’re currently in third place behind Chaos Marines and AoD-T)!

Three weeks to go and we find ourselves sitting comfortably in the lead of the Adeptus Astartes mega-Faction, and in third place overall. Whilst it should be noted that CSM and AoD-T have pulled ahead in score, this is based on their completions so far. If you look at the points pledged, we have committed to more than AoD-T (so a higher completion rate will see us clear of them), we are behind CSM so we need to beat their rate. If this was a long distance race, CSM have the reputation for the sprint finish so we need to go into overdrive now and try to hang on.

What is important too is to encourage the SM, DA, and SW as without them we will miss out on one of the three titles. Whilst we have our own goals, we are still battle brothers in blocking the inroads of the heretic, mutant, traitor, and xenos. Go now, extend some encouragement and support to our fellow brethen and cajole them into finishing strongly too.

My wife took the kids to a mini holiday to visit zoo etc. so that left me with two full days withouth the normal chores. I’ve spent around 7 hours on my vow, 4 hours playing beach volley in last two days, and it is really starting to take toll. Had to stop painting as my hands started to shake so much that it’s too difficult to paint without spills.

The unit of bolter scouts is really close to finish. I just have to wonder how stupid I am when I glued the bolters on place, when I`m not going to play with them before they are painted :D

Have you a parts list for your DC Tycho and are you starting your Captain and Tacticals from scratch?

I've managed to finish the 5 Scouts portion of my vow, which is... Something, I suppose. Back to the grind, though!

Did the same earlier too :happy.: It's a nice feeling getting a portion complete as it helps get the ball rolling elsewhere. Much left to do?

Finishing my Vow this weekend, come hell or high water.

That's the spirit, show Astorath and the painting gods that your fire wont be diminished following a minor setback!

Any advice for blasting through chequered squares like you do?

I would say, just don't go there. But if you really feel the need to paint cheques on vehicles, I just draw lines on the vehicle with a steel ruler and pencil and then it's just a case of painting inside the lines.

Sometimes I feel painting Lamenters is a like an episode of Sesame Street - Brought to you by the number 13 and the colour yellow.

On that subject, vow 4 is now complete,I present "Pillar of Angstrom"

Yes, I know I am missing the other exhaust - I just can't find the flipping thing and since FW don't do bits. I'm up a creak without a paddle.

gallery_60109_5815_201659.jpg

Such a rare vehicle deserves only the best crew, so here we have a veteran tank commander:

Excellent completion! The commander is very nice; I own that one myself and it's the first time I've seen on painted :)

As for the squares, my backlog contains 40+ 2nd edition plastic Goff Orks so... :blush.:  :sad.:

Surely you're out of time now? :teehee:

Congrats on your third completion! It's really great to see someone really pushing their army over the course of the year :happy.:

Thanks for the closeup of the shouldpad too, it's turned out really well and no we can all see how simple it is to achieve :)

Two and a half weeks to go, anything left in the tank?

Congratulations on not only your completion, but completing our first OOC entry of this year's event! Did you enjoy painting something else from the norm? We certainly don't see enough white Blood Angels these days :smile.:

Also, with the time you have left, would you consider doing something small (say a character) for your parent ETL Faction? They (and our mega-Faction) could use the points if you're up for it :smile.:

For those interested, this model leads the Sanguine Knights

These are excellent; you've achieved a really smooth paint job on them all, especially the metallics - well done! (the photography isn't that bad either, something which I can talk about ). If I may, what's the chest eagle recipe here?

As for a follow up, that would be ace :tu: Just remember that there's only two and a half weeks left...

The chest Eagles are two thin coats of Retributor Gold painted over the red base coat, with a healthy wash of Agrax Earthshade. Any highlights that may or may not appear are from the lighting from my "photo booth".

I'm pretty sure I can knock out a Sicaran in a couple days, vehicles are the easy part for me. I'm just checking out my obligations to make sure I don't have any upcoming suprises.

Edit: Spelling is hard.

I'm going to go small this time as I actually only have 1 week left before my holidays. And those are planned with little minis, but lots of outdoors activities (and beer).

But we'll see. Maybe I'll manage a quick 5th vow as well... :biggrin.:

I MAJKHEL rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX on the side of the Blood Angels and vow to complete:

- 1 razorback with twin assault canons and storm bolter

for a total value of 116pts on or before August 1st, 2018.

Success will bring me eternal glory and failure will doom me to wear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end.

Yes, I am well and truly out of time, I fly out Sunday. Though I suppose I could rush and get my Spartan done :whistling:tomorrow.

I do really like that tank crew, when it first came out I thought it would look awesome on a regular marine, so I gave him legs (second row, second from the left):

Every little helps and everyone needs an Assback in their collection. Was the Kromlech part easy to construct like everything else they do?

Don't know really:P I bought it from one guy already glued. One canon broke off actually during transport.

I will magnetize the turret so that I can at least rotate it and possibly swap with something else in the future.

I know Tycho’s banner could use some more work but I won’t be painting that. Skull decal for the corner, and print the winged triple blood drop and paste it on. If I need to do that for the completion Semper let me know? Otherwise keen to start work squeezing in a small 4th vow possibly...
