Thanks for all the great feed back guys, glad you all like him . Ordered some bits for him from blood and skulls today, namely a small fan to replace the square grill at the back. Try as I might I can't GS-fu my own fan, I can't seem to get the blades small enough.

While GW may have stomped on my inspiration your positive feedback has encouraged me to carry on so thanks, and I look forward to show you guys some more.

Time for a progress update on the mark one.

Took the delivery of the fans and a few other bits and pieces from blood and skulls and the service and quality was fantastic but unfortunately I just couldn't bring what I envisaged to fruition.

So I came up with this solution instead

I think it looks suitably old school but needs a little more, just not sure what as of yet.

Have also been messing around making servoskulls. To me servoskulls are just about as iconic to 40k as space marines.

Any comments or criticisms welcome.

Loving that model. It does fit in with the art Greyall did, but it also reminds me of the Contemptor Dreadnought in its bearing :happy.:

Thanks for the great responses guys.

If I do a second one I will try and do a tutorial unfortunately had a look in my bits box and it dried up of terminator bits and so is bitzbox.

BassWave you mentioned in the Iron Hands forum that this mark leaks toxic chemicals where would I find this fluff? As I would love to read up.

@JW- actually I was referring to gorgon terminators, which are based off Indomitus armor (the generic terminator box). Their fluff is found in FW's Massacre book.

That MKI terminator armour is just awesome. I would buy a set right now.

understand that you're dired on bits, but could you give the dimensions for the front plating that you did in plasticards, perhaps a template ?

Hey guys , I am finally back. First up a massive thank you to Greyall with his link to this page and an even bigger thanks for his inspiration thanks to him there will definitely be a second mark one in the pipe line thanks to this image http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240161-clever-girl-perils-of-the-warp/page-82 with some patience it will hopefully be a step by step walk through of the process. But progress tends to be slow about a month to two months a model so if you can bear with me.

To everyone who has taken the time to comment thank you it does mean a lot.

To those who haven't seen it Grotsmasha held another conversion challengehttp://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/288922-grotsmashas-conversion-challenge-5-adepts-of-mars/ which I vowed to produce a techmarine for. Sadly the inlaws came to stay for a month and pretty much holed up in our little flat so progress stopped but to day is close to a month since the challenge ended.

Here is what i would like to think i would have submitted for the challeng, So "heres Lohannes"

I imagined Brother Lohannes Torrance as a sort of Jack from the shining. Smashing his way through bulk head after bulk head during a boarding action all the while his vox grill bellowing in chipped binary 0100100001100101011100100110010100100111011100110010000001001010011011110110100001101110011011100110100101100101. Hope he captures this image.

He still is a WIP as the servo arms are held in place by friction so are not necessarily in there final position and I still have a heap of pipes and cables and other gubbins to add before I consider him finished.

Hope I have caught the essence of Greyall's Pramus Kholosk drawing while creating some thing that is distinctly Iron Hand and my own as well.

Any comments or criticisms or suggestions welcome

How the hell'd I miss this guy!?!?!?!? Absolutely awesome dude :tu: :tu:

Cheers,

Jono
